when the last song has finished, she had already reached her stop, she walked the rest of her to the entertainment, earphones still plugged to keep her entertained the rest of the walk.
it didn't took a while before she completely reached the building, entering, the guard greeted her as he was already familiar with hyerin, "morning, here to see the boys?" he greeted with a smile.
hyerin hummed in response and proceeded her way to their practice room, knocking before entering, she was then greeted by seven sweaty boys, "hey guys." she smiled and waved.
they all waved back, jungkook immediately running towards her, ready to give her a hug, "noonaaa!" he greeted, ready to hug hyerin but pouted afterwards when the girl moved away from him.
"you're all sweaty, don't." she laughed it off, she walked over to their water bottles, getting it then she distributed it to them, receiving a thank you in return.
taehyung kept on glancing at her, "jimin said you'd bring over your cousin, is he here?" his eyes were filled with excitement as he looked at hyerin.
"i'm sorry, he had some plans." she apologized, remembering what happened earlier.
"never knew a six year old can have plans." yoongi said, eyes ready to drift to sleep on any moment as he laid down on the floor, "you sure its not because he didn't really want to come?" he sat up, looking at hyerin.
hyerin froze in spot, everything that jaehyun said suddenly kept repeating in her head, it was then she felt another sharp pain on her head, "its happening again." she mumbled to herself, not knowing that the guy near her had manage to hear her.
"what's happening again? hyerin, you're pale." jimin stood in front of her, hands on her shoulder as he eyed hyerin suspiciously, "are you alright?" he worriedly asked.
hyerin couldn't answer, what was she supposed to say? that she's gonna experience the same thing that happen days ago at the coffee shop? no, she couldn't say that. she did want to but then why couldn't she?
"i-i" she felt the pain coated her whole head, weakening her knees causing her to fall on the ground, she went through her bag, desperately looking for the pills that could lessen the pain, "pills." she kept on repeating, alerting the others to help her.
drinking up the pills, the pain didn't subside, yet it just made it worse, her head was in pain and her vision was getting blurry again, today wasn't supposed to be like this, she thought to herself.
jimin stayed with her the whole time, reassuring her and hugging her as well, every minute one of the boys would ask her how she was feeling and that if they need to bring her to the hospital but every time the girl would just shake her head no.
"what do we do with you, hyerin?" namjoon was on his phone, as he just told his manager that they had to cut their practice short because something urgent came up, "we can't just let you suffer like this." his smile showed pity.
"it will pass, j-just d-don't bring me t-there." hyerin stated, jimin shushing her and telling her to not use her strength to much, he was nervous yet again, he did know what to feel and what to say, why does this kept on happening to her?
"shh, it's fine." jimin inaudibly whispered, he said it as if he wasn't saying it to her but saying to his self anyways, "it'll go away soon." he whispered lastly before letting his tears fall, hugging the girl so tight.
he went fragile seeing the girl like this, he was crying too hard, cheeks crimson red and eyes squinting hard, hard enough for him not to see how much hyerin was suffering, it was hard for him as well, it pained him and it very much weakened him.
"don't cry." she whispered as jimin buried his head into her neck, holding into her tightly, "it will be fine." she last whispered before her eyes completely shut closed.
-
all boys stood quietly outside the room, heart beating quite irregularly for they were feeling too nervous with what the results might be, all didn't move from their places as they couldn't build the courage to start a conversation.
the maknae line were seated, both taehyung and jungkook were comforting their member who was silently crying, head buried in his hands, the elders on the other hand were standing all together outside the room where hyerin is.
"what if she has some kind of sickness? hyung, jimin would just get devastated." hoseok whispered to the others, "maybe we should contact a relative of hers?" he added.
"isn't that why were here? no matter what the doctor says, we'll stay by jimin's side." jin said quietly, he was nervous as well to hear the results but pushing the negative thoughts away, he shook his head, "she's fine and she doesn't have any sickness or whatsoever." he added.
the doctor stepped outside the room making all the boys gather around him, jimin was in front, calming his self as he wiped his tear
stained face, "is she alright?" he immediately asked to the doctor.
the doctor didn't show any emotion to hint them what was happening, "is there any relative of her present?" he looked around, the boys then looked and glanced at each other.
"we're her friends, is there something wrong?" jimin answered, heart beating fast for his mind was saying that something was completely wrong with hyerin.
the doctor nodded, before he even got to say a word, a nurse stepped out of the room and whispered something, they saw him nodded and looked at them, "she's awake, maybe we can all talk about it with her. i also need to check up on her." he proceeded to say.
they all entered, eyes immediately looking for their good friend, hyerin. jimin went ahead to hug the girl, tears flowing as soon as he held contact with her.
he felt safe, he felt fine and happy.
"why am i here?" hyerin asked, face with no emotions present.
the boys looked at her, "you fainted, what do you expect us to do? just wait till you wake up?" yoongi bursted out, he was just worried, he didn't mean to lash out on the girl.
hyerin stayed quiet, "get out, i want to talk to the doctor alone." she emotionless said to them, not making any eye contact even with the guy she was having feelings for.
jimin was confused, "don't you want us with you? even just me." he held the hyerin's chin up but the girl just flinched away, "c'mon hyerin, atleast even me." he tried to persuade her but she shook her head no.
without saying another word, he just nodded and followed the boys out of the room, glancing at the girl one more time, won't she make me stay? he thought as he slowly walked out of the room leaving hyerin and the doctor alone.
-
"for almost all my patients, they would want someone to stay with them when hearing the news." the doctor faintly smiled as he went nearer to hyerin, "are you sure you wouldn't want anyone of them with you?" he continued.
hyerin shook her head, looking down at her hands, "what's wrong with me? am i dying?" she looked up, meeting the eyes of her doctor, "cause i feel like i am." tears started to built up in her eyes, making her vision blurry.
he remained silent, not knowing how to deliver the news, "tell me, what do you want to do the most in life?" he asked, seating at the end of her bed.
hyerin thought of what to answer, what did she really want to do the most?
"i just want to live, even if i don't get to do what i want the most, i just want to live." hyerin answered, all of her life she just learned how to be contented and now that she got the answer to the question she has been asking herself, what more could she ask for?
"then go live your life, be an adventurer, yeah? and when you're tired you can go rest, i can assure you my daughter would be one of the people who would greet you at your finish line, " he looked up, "in heaven." he continued with a smile.
hyerin started crying, she just let her tears drown her face up, "won't you tell me what my sickness is?" she asked, wiping away the tears on her face.
"do you want to know? i know that when i tell you, you won't get to live your life the way you're supposed to." he stood up, walking near her as he placed a hand on her shoulder, "now, i think its time for your friends to come in." he said, ready to walk away when hyerin talked.
"don't, at least not yet. i want to be alone for a while." her tears started to dry up, there was no use in crying now, its not like her days would lengthen if she does, "one last question, how long?" she asked him, eyes desperately looking for an answer.
"one month." he simply answered before he completely exited the room.
"well then, better hang out with everyone before i get tired and go, right?" she talked to herself, still not quite accepting that she was indeed going, going away and leaving everyone she loves.
