Chapter 19 - Turns

Outside Laone notices that everyone has now had their eyes on him for a while male and female alike. Due to his "inner self" he did not mind the attention and was starting to feel like it was not enough. It was tea time and today it was calmer than it always was, instead of an alien invasion it looked more more like world war 3. To attract more attention Laone added a little hop to his walk and flying skirt granted him sure fire gazes. All of which were filled with various emotions most of which were tainted with baseless lust.

'Too easy,' he thought and was immediately turned off by the attention and reset back to factory settings. Uninterested in being noticed unless it was worth it, for now none of the people who drooled over Laone were not deserving of his entertainment. Laone was suddenly yanked forward, "stop wasting time already tea time is almost over." Thato said as he pulled him further away from the population, Laone did not fight back and just followed. They were going for bread but most importantly they were going to the geek central to get today's collectable game items.

There was a sort of lottery/bingo system going on at the school kiosk, and the guy who runs it created this amazing board role playing game which he swears on everything it can predict someone's future. A few spots around the country were already running and the cards used to play it. A complete game takes at least an hour to finish which is why was mostly played online and only hardcore players were insane enough to play it with the actual boards which were always being change and cards which are made in one's preference.

Five cards of different roles are made at the end of every 3 days and only one of each class can be made at a time. (I will write more rules when you ask for them,) Laone had already been stockpiling cards ever since he discovered the game a few years later had become a pretty reputable gamer in the whole country. Today him and Thato were going to pick up their cards to prepare the next school war event. A card is made online and acquired at a local dealer, sometimes you even receive an action figure along with it.

Laone had abandoned most of his own deck after pillaging and trading for stronger ones. He had made enough money from this game to basically live off being a gamer, but close to no one knew this because he had six registered accounts that he played seven if you add the one he uses and is known by most people as just another guy in the top 100 in the national ranking. And this was worldwide hit mind you, so it was a pretty big deal. So continentally Botswana players were ranked higher than countries with more great players because ranking for the international charts using whole countries required use of a player to non-player ratio. You would be surprised as to how few people were in this country and the majority was young adults and kids.

In international events however the country used to suffer ambushes until veteran players that the statistics really did not matter. They were just there to show the positions the countries started at. All of Laone's aliases did not use humans unless they were healers or other blessed classes such as heroes. This game had two forms, the first one a gacha game sort of format were you gathered an army to fight against monsters and participate on pvp. The next one was a traditional RPG where you just joined other people on hunts as teams and guilds.

Laone was on a six man team consisting of himself, herself, himself, herself, himself, and herself. The team was called THE WORLD and they have never lost any match ever since their creation, and the only time they lost their ranking was simply because Laone did not participate. The games are operated with state of the art equipments like, helmets and pods, but in order to control many avatars at once Laone plays using big screen and a bunch of monitors. Analogue is what he calls it.

Laone had just gotten his "Laone cards" not "THE WORLD" ones, they were still amazing nonetheless. That much was evident by the gathering of fellow hardcore gamers around him.

"Wow Laone your creations are as amazing usual."

"Do you want to trade your three star guardian for my five star berserker?"

"Cht, it does not matter how amazing her creations are in the end Billie (One of Laone's aliases) will have the number one spot in the country."

"Oh Billie, he is so awesome. Have you guys heard that he declined a meeting with the president."

"Have you heard that Billie was an AI?"

"Pfpt, in what public toilet do you find such bullshit?"

Laone chuckled and the guy who made the joke blushed, the others got jealous and started causing chaos. There were very few "CUTE" gamer "GIRLS" in school so they were worshiped or rather "SIMPED" over very hard by the game boy population.

"No seriously though, none of us have ever seen Billie in real life. That is not even the wildest part, how amongst countless gamers in the world did Ki Lord (another alias) choose him to join THE WORLD."

"Good point..."

"Goddamnit what I won't give to join that team."

"I heard they don't recruit though."

"I heard that it is impossible to use their names in new games unless they authorize it which they never do."

The bell signaling the end of tea time caught them mid conversation, teacher don't fuck around in public schools. Just as the bell rang one of them ran in with a stick like he was the whole SWAT team. Everybody scrambled and the weeaboos embarrassed themselves in front of their 3D goddesses.

Even Thato abandoned Laone she was left face to face with with a hesitant teacher.
