Arthur's words caused the other three in the room to look at him differently.
His mother seemed frightened by the implication that her son would willingly attack a Rank 2 Fae Master being only a Rank 1 liquid quartz essence.
His grandfather, the Medicine Hall Elder seemed shocked, his thoughts travelling as fast as his Rank 3 cultivation would allow him trying to discern what this meant for the Clan.
While Niklos just stared at his son silently, unsure what to think on the matter.
His son's combat senses surpassed his own. Of that much he was sure.
The Boundless Forest Yearning Sovereign Boundary Physique was one thing, it was something that everyone universally understood as "genius" material. First-tier talents in a region like the Winter Rain Mountains were also important.
But Arthur.... his talent, and his talent alone could only be used in combat.
He needed to fight and put his life on the line in order to truly shine.
Niklos felt.... proud, but as a father felt worried about the implications of such a talent.
"The moment I saw those two Fae Masters I hid. They were talking about meeting up with a spy within the Kovacs Clan. I tried to get closer using the camouflage fae but one of them must've sensed me. It was unfortunate for them that I was close enough to kill one of them while under the effects of the camouflage fae".
Niklos and Kamila nodded.
Not a single fae in this world claimed to be invincible. If these two Fae Masters didn't possess any fae that specialised in discerning, it wouldn't be possible for them to sense Arthur.
"I killed one, but the other Clan member instantly sprung into action and blocked my path before I could kill the spy. He slashed at me with Rank 2 wind blade fae, and also used a Rank 2 air presence fae to stop me from using black smog fae and camouflage fae to blind him".
"If you were to head to the battlefield, you would see where I tried to box the Rank 2 Fae Master in. His wind blades were strong enough to topple trees, so I ran in a circle around him, trapping him. After that, I hid for a little bit, before using the same strategy that.... Andrea used to battle me".
Arthur made sure to blush at that moment, so as to lower their guard.
His father and grandfather didn't so much as blink, but his mother smiled slightly patting her son's back.
"I charged at him, constantly using the red light fae to blind him. He could only rely on his air presence fae to find me, and kept retreating backwards trying to put distance between us".
"This was the moment that I thought I won. While retreating back, the Fae Master tripped on one of the fallen trees he had knocked over, causing him to fall on his back, but-".
Arthur looked down at his hand, and his wrist which now had a massive scar around the outside.
It looked ugly, but for some reason, caused him to smile.
"I got a little cocky and slashed out with the moonsword fae and the moonslice fae. I took off his head, but he launched one last wind blade before he died".
"To be perfectly honest, I wanted to try and keep their corpses so I could see what Fae they had. If I didn't get injured, I probably wouldn't of told anyone".
Arthur showed an apologetic expression.
Apologizing for doing a good thing. It pretty much always works when trying to get parents to forgive them for doing something reckless.
If he got injured for saving someone, forget him apologizing, the party he saved would more than likely beg for Arthur not to get punished for doing something so dangerous!
His mother sighed, bringing her third born son into her embrace.
"You silly boy. I swear, when the guards told me that you had lost a hand, I almost had a heart attack!".
Arthur showed a repentant look on his face.
His father sighed.
"I normally don't mind that you enter the forests when we have patrols going through our territory, but to think that the Marina Clan had spies within Parachenko Village!".
Entering another Clan's territories unannounced Fae Masters was.... dangerous for both Clans.
If one party didn't get caught, then there was nothing wrong with it.
But if one party did catch the other meeting spies or exchanging secrets then....
Of course Arthur made up the whole spiel about a spy and whatnot, but that didn't mean he didn't not know about a spy within the Village.
Five years was a long time before someone who had only lived three times that amount. And quite a number of things happened within five years that Arthur could take advantage of.
The Medicine Hall Elder turned towards Niklos, his tone slightly grave.
"We also have spies within Romanov Village. It's not as though that is something that we publicly announce.... But now that we have the Boundless Forest Yearning Sovereign Boundary Physique, things are different! If Arthur didn't kill those two, it's possible that the spy could've leaked the information!".
Niklos nodded, already knowing the implication of such things.
He patted Arthur on the shoulder.
"Although it's possible that they didn't know, the chances of the spy giving away information about Andrea is more than likely. If you didn't kill them, then perhaps we might be facing a war between our Clans. One that we definitely wouldn't win".
Arthur looked confused slightly, but already knew what his father meant.
The Romanov Village was home to the Marina Clan. A relatively new Clan within Winter Rain Mountain, but one with a Rank 4 Fae Master as its Leader.
About three years ago, before Arthur had awakened his talents as a Fae Master, a young girl from the Clan awakened one of the Thirty Three Sovereign Boundary Physiques.
Overflowing Ocean Depths Sovereign Boundary Physique.
Just like the Kovacs Clan, they kept it secret for a number of years before a Sect arrived at their front door, hoping to see the young girl who was said to possess the Overflowing Ocean Depths.
Immediately a Rank 5 Fae Master arrived and took her away, creating ties between the Marina Clan and the powerful Sect.
If there was a war between Kovacs Clan and Marina Clan this Sect would undoubtably step in, and silently support the Marina Clan from the shadows.
Now that Andrea, a member of their Clan awakened the Boundless Forest Yearning Sovereign Boundary Physique, there was a chance for them both to stand on equal ground with each other.
But things needed time, and Andrea might not ask the Sect to step in in the event that the Kovacs go to war.
Niklos stood there silently for a moment before nodding a couple of times.
"For the time being, no word of this will get out. I will tell the guards as well as the members of Leon's patrol to say nothing, and that you got attacked by a wild Rank 2 spirit beast. Those corpses will have their fae retrieved and then burned. Is that understood Arthur?".
Arthur nodded at his father implication.
He was allowed to take the fae that he wanted, since they were his spoils of war, but needed to be completely sure about disposing of the body.
If the Marina Clan ever found out about this, they definitely wouldn't stay silent.
