Chapter 12 - C:11 Back In Time

Victor's POV:

I watched as Laura giggled, helping Reuben brush the black stallion out in Laurence's stables. I frowned as I rubbed my throat, her scent driving me insane. Why the hell does she have to smell so good? She's only a human- a protected human by Val.... I looked her over then found myself crossing the stables to her before I yanked her from the horse and bit in, giving in to my instincts. I moaned as I got a taste of her blood then pinned her against the wall as she let out a yelp then cried out to Reuben in pain. I held her down as she struggled, trying to push me on and dug my fangs in deeper before I moaned and ripped a chunk from her neck. Her warm blood flowed so freely.... I looked her blood over then licked it up and drank greedily as she fell weak then collapsed to the floor, the light fading from her eyes.

"V-Victor- What have you done?" Reuben asked and grabbed at his throat before he ran out of the stables quickly. The horses started to get unsteady from the smell of blood. I looked down at her body then licked my hands before I laughed. It tasted so good.... I looked her over then nudged her with my foot before I frowned. Oh Hell... she's dead. I backed up quickly then frowned before I picked her body up and looked it over then started to carry it towards the castle quickly. She's going to slaughter me.... I looked the little stow away over again before I frowned. Maybe I'll bury her and that'll be that. Reuben saw... but it might not hurt Val as much if I bury her. I looked around then took her towards a nearby tree before I laid her body out under it and quickly went to the garden shed, getting a shovel before I came back and buried her body. I groaned and pulled back, wiping at my forehead before I dropped the shovel, looking towards the castle. Walking inside, I went towards my room to look for a change of clothes then paused as I saw the journal on the table by my bedside. I walked over to it slowly then picked it up, looking it over before I narrowed my eyes. My parents lied to me about this all my life... and if they find out I'm here, they'll kill my new friends... and lie to me some more. I hissed a little the dropped the book before I found myself standing in the bedroom of my castle in Russia. I walked out of it slowly then looked around as I headed for the throne room to find my parents.

Bursting into the room, I stepped inside, my boots clicking on the stone floor as I looked straight towards my father's throne, seeing him sitting on it. "Father," I hissed. He looked at me then stood up quickly before he glanced my bloody clothes over then narrowed his eyes.

"Where have you been? What have you been do-"

"You lied to me, didn't you? All those years ago," I muttered. He tensed and looked me in the eyes before he straightened the jacket he was wearing.

"What does that matter to you, Victor? That was knowledge no one needed to know. Who told you the truth?" He hissed.

"My friends," I growled out and started for him slowly, shutting the doors behind me.

"Friends? What friends?" He asked me and watched me closely. "Victor, if Dante is putting thoughts in your head, I wouldn't believe him."

"No, it wasn't Dante," I told him then walked up the small steps to his throne, standing in front of him. He glared me down then went to smack me, but I caught his hand and leaned in, biting into him harshly. He groaned then threw me back before he smirked.

"Finally getting braver," he purred out then started for me. "Victor, it's a king eat king world out there. Power is the main card that you'll ever want to hold- understand? Power is always the object- power over your enemies, power over your friends, and power over your children. Of course, we lied to you. It gives us the upper hand. Too bad you couldn't be satisfied with a lie. I'll have to put your brother on the throne." I narrowed my eyes and showed him my fangs before I went for him, but I was thrown back by my father's power. I groaned as I hit the ground and slowly sat up. "You're powerless, Victor." I looked him over then frowned. How could he lie to me for power? I teleported behind him then reached through his back, ripping out his spinal cord quickly then bit down into his neck and tore out a chunk before we both fell to the ground.

"Victor," I heard my mother's harsh voice hiss out. "Look away Roman," My mom told him from by the door. "Run away and hide. Don't come out- especially if your brother calls your name. If you hear his voice- leave." My mom, Sofiya started for me then and pulled out a knife from her pocket. I looked up at her then widened my eyes slightly before I growled and ripped my father's stone out. I looked towards it then hesitated before I hissed a little. He lied to me all these years and looked down at me from his throne.... My entire family has lied to me all these years.... I looked towards my mother then and hissed as I got to my feet and closed my fingers around it tightly, crushing it.

"How could you lie to me?" I growled at her. She stopped coming to me and looked at my hand.

"Victor, everyone has been lying to their children. We decided a long time ago that it was best for vampires- pureblood vampires. A decision was made, and now you all are supposed to be oblivious. You can't be mad that it was a council agreement. You're supposed to love and obey your parents." I frowned and dropped my father's stone dust then stepped over his decaying body to go towards her.

"Mother... I'm going to be king someday. Don't you think I needed to know that? Screw the council!" I told her then snatched the knife from her, throwing it across the room before I exposed my fangs at her. "You're no mother of mine," I growled then bit down into her neck, throwing her up against the wall.

"Victor," she hissed out. "How could you say that to me? Your father wanted the best for you and so do I." She gave me an angry look. "That information is supposed to be lost. We all planned it out. For the better of our species. It's best not to look for a mate or drink too much blood. These are rules and the secrets we wanted to keep. When you're older, you'll understand why." She grabbed a lock full of my hair and yanked it backwards. "We're vampires. Purebloods. We're royals and we are above those things. Knowing about it only peaked interest and caused disaster." I winced as she tugged on my hair, making me back off from her neck. I looked towards her and narrowed my eyes before I smacked her across the face.

"We're not above those things! It's why we have fangs," I told her, managing to get away from her grip. I kicked her feet out from under her, sending her to the ground before I stomped down on her chest and glared at her. "If you were going to lie to me about it, then you should've shut me up from the world." I knelt and quickly ripped out her stone then looked it over before I pocketed it. I glanced around the throne room then frowned as my head hurt and grabbed at it. I groaned and fell back against the wall before I sunk down to the floor slowly.

"Hand me the wrench," I heard my father, Ludomir, instruct me. I looked the shiny silver tools over before I picked up the wrench and held it out to him. He smirked as he took it from me then turned away from me, facing a chair in front of him. I suddenly heard bones crunch as screams reached my ears, making my eyes widen and I backed up quickly, tripping over my small feet. "Son, get up." His eyes looked over my shoulder, glaring towards me. "You're an Ivanov. Don't let me catch you cowering." I whimpered then slowly got to my feet. "Now come here, Victor," he said sternly and grabbed my arm, his bloody fingers getting my white shirt dirty. He yanked me to him, making me stand beside him to see a man with black hair sitting into a chair, strapped in with chains to keep him from escaping. His head hung down as he panted, sweat dripping down his body. I felt the cool metal of the wrench in my hand then before my father rubbed my head. "Break his fingers," he purred into my ear. "This is a traitor. We punish traitors to our family. You'll make me proud." I looked towards the man's hands, seeing a few of the fingers broken and bloodied from my father. I looked at the wrench as my father guided my hand with the wrench to the man's hand and showed me how to snap his fingers with the wrench as the blood curdling scream reached my ears. "You're going to be a powerful king, Victor," he purred to me, giving me a proud look. I widened my eyes before my father smirked. "Do it again." I looked the man's fingers over before I broke another one, obeying my father as the man's screams seemed to fade into the background. All I could feel was my father's pride and the cool, sweet metal in my hand as I took control....

I panted as my vision blurred, and I slowly looked up from the floor, seeing my parent's decayed bodies a few feet away. I slowly got up and looked towards the knife before I picked it up, the cool metal gleaming in the light. I felt a small smirk form on my face before I laughed and held my head. It's pretty.... I grinned then looked towards the door. Roman. He's still alive. He'll tell the council. "Oh Romaaaaan~!" I called out, leaving the room as I followed his scent. I glanced around then followed it towards the front doors of the castle then paused as I found them wide open, the white snow billowing into the room from the snowstorm outside. I frowned then looked outside, seeing his footsteps fading as a storm raged outside....

He won't make it. He's not tough. He's as good as dead. I shut the doors then before I looked towards a maid and tilted my chin up. "Ochistite zamok. Kogda ya vernus', luchshe sverkat'." She widened her eyes then ran off quickly to do as I said. I teleported back to my bedroom in Laurence's castle and looked the knife over before I sat down on the bed with it, running my fingers against the shiny blade.

"Are you happy?" I heard Val hiss out from the doorway. She crossed her arms. "You killed her! You killed my human. I hope you're very happy with yourself you swine." She slammed the door shut then- leaving me alone. I flinched then frowned before I looked towards the door then growled, getting to my feet and sat the knife down on my bed.

"Val!" I teleported out into the hallway and grabbed her by the arm before I pulled her into a hug. She smacked me hard against my cheek then.

"Don't touch me," she hissed out and stepped out of my arms. She groaned and glared me down before holding her hands up towards my chest before side stepping me. "You make me sick." I frowned.

"Val," I muttered. I looked her over. "I'm sorry," I whispered. I knew she'd find out. I couldn't help myself though.... I had done it before I realized it. There's nothing I can say to her to make it up to her. I killed her human. I stepped back from her then frowned.

"No, you're not!" She yelled at me and started to cry. "You took her from me. You're so selfish." She glanced away from me before running off towards Laurence's throne room. I frowned then looked away. Oh Hell....

Val's POV:

Dante paused before he looked towards me as I ran in then looked back at Laurence. "Should I leave, Laurence?" He glanced at me worriedly, seeing the look on my face.

"No. You can stay here-" Laurence told him but I cut him off.

"Victor murdered-" I was interrupted by Laurence then.

"I know. I couldn't have helped it due to it being uncertain to me but I prepared this incase." He took out a watch from his pocket.

"A watch!?" I asked and raised my eyebrow. "YOU GIVE ME A WATCH!? AFTER KNOWING HE DID THAT?" I asked and walked up to him in anger. "You're my fiancé. Go challenge him to a duel or something."

"Val. I'm not fighting him. Although I have thought of it, he'll be needed later." Laurence told me. "Take the watch, Val. It's not just any watch." Dante frowned at us.

"Victor killed someone?" He asked and looked at me then it hit him. "Oh... I'm sure it was an accident, Val. Laurence said himself that it was uncertain. It must've been last minute," he whispered and gave me an unsure look. I frowned and crossed my arms.

"Val, please take the watch. Turn it back three seconds." Laurence told me. I frowned.

"Why?" I asked him.

"It'll make you feel better." Dante looked towards the watch curiously.

"What's it does?" He asked Laurence.

"It goes back in time," Laurence said. "To the past. It can take you there. There you can find someone very important to you, Val. His name is Alexander the Great, and I want you to bring him back. He'll help you in the future. So, you'll never lose a war."

"Alexander the Great?!" Dante's eyes went wide before he laughed. "He's like... the best war hero! He never lost a single battle, and he had his own empire he conquered! He died of a fever though... or..." He looked at me then grinned. "He didn't die because you took him and made it look like he died of a fever. You HAVE to go get him! He'll help the war effort," he purred. "They say he was blessed by the gods to never lose!"

"Val, this is my gift to you," Laurence told me. "You'll be thankful after you leave with this." He promised. "You'll go back into the past and turn Alexander the Great. Whatever happens, take good care of this watch. This is the only way you'll get back here. Otherwise you'll be stuck there, and you'll have to take care of yourself and him until you make it back to this time by aging. It's a good thing you're immortal." Dante looked at me and smirked.

"Damn, you're about to have the world's greatest pawn.... I'm so jealous," he told me and eyed the watch then looked at me. "Think about it.... You'll never lose a fight with him... and he'll never die because he can't lose a battle." I blushed and walked up to Laurence.

"What about Laura?" I asked him.

"You can't go back to fix her death because then it would break this future and cause a paradox. Besides... this is what it's supposed to be like. Go get Alexander the Great." I eyed the watch over.

"What do I do to operate it?" I asked.

"Here..." Laurence placed it in my hand then opened it. "Just back it up three seconds." He told me then let go quickly. I eyed the watch over.

"What happens when I get to the past?" I asked.

"Leave my castle directly and go straight to Babylon. Turn Alex. Come back. Turn it back to this exact time. When you're at three seconds back make sure to hit the stop on the watch or you might be stuck doing what the watch wants... or worse." I eyed the watch over. How come it's only three?

"Why three?" I asked him.

"You're thinking about Alexander at the moment now, and three is the witching number." He smirked. "Now go get him."

"Damn it... I want a cool pawn," Dante muttered, watching me before he crossed his arms.

"You're not my fiancé," Laurence teased him.

"I'm your friend?" Dante tried and looked towards him.

"I don't have a second watch, and if I did, you wouldn't know who to grab in the past because everything is in your future." Dante frowned a little then.

"Fair enough...." He said then looked Laurence over curiously.

"What? You think I don't know all that's in store for you?" Laurence asked.

"I know you know what's in store for me," Dante purred. "I'd like to know too, but what's the fun in that if I know what's coming for me? I'd rather have a surprise instead of waiting around for it to happen."

"You just look out for a bird," Laurence warned. "Don't let it go so easily once you find it."

"A bird?" Dante asked and frowned slightly. "Why a bird?"

"You'll see." Dante gave a small nod before he sighed then looked towards me.

"Val, be careful when you go- Wait, are you sure this is okay, Laurence? I doubt you were alive then, so your ancestors will be here, and they might not be okay with this... and we should dress her in the appropriate clothes of the era she's going to."

"It'll be fine. I prepared everything. Val, if you want to be dressed in the era, then you can find some clothes to wear in my room- which will have clothes for you in the time period you go to."

"So... you were alive back then?" Dante asked, widening his eyes. "How old are you?"

"I didn't say that," Laurence said calmly. "I just said there would be in the room she knows as mine." Dante frowned a little and watched Laurence but looked my way.

"Well Val, good luck getting your hands on him. You're going to have to be able to subdue him long enough to turn him... and he's really powerful- blessed," Dante reminded me, looking towards me. "Be careful. Those are dangerous times you are going to."

"I know," I whispered. I'll be extremely careful.

"Val. Whatever you do, don't get caught in my castle," Laurence warned me. Dante paused before he walked up to me and produced a knife, putting it in my hand.

"Try not to hurt anyone, and try to remain unseen, but if you need this... you have it," he told me. I eyed the knife over before yanking Dante into a hug. I want to take him with me... He'll help me get to Alexander.

"Come with me," I whispered to him. He widened his eyes then looked me in the eyes before he hesitated.

"This might be something you need to do yourself," he told me. "Ask Laurence. He knows. If it's alright, I'll go as a guardian."

"Go alone, Val. This is something you do alone." Laurence warned. I nodded and took a deep breath. Okay... Don't break the watch. Dante stepped away from me then smirked.

"You're going to be okay. Laurence wouldn't send you if he thought you would get hurt," he purred to me. "Go catch him."

"Okay." I nodded and smiled. "I'll be back with Alexander soon. I'm not sure how long it will be for you though." I grabbed the knob and began to turn it back three seconds. The wind picked up around me, and Laurence along with Dante faded out of thin air. The place around me started to move quickly as servants, and Laurence moved around it quickly along with other faces. I focused until I reached three then clicked it to pause the time on the clock. I glanced around- finding myself in a cold and unlit room with wine bottles stashed around the place. I raised an eyebrow. This was a wine cellar? Wow... His family must've used another room for their thrones before Laurence. I placed my watch in my pocket and tip toed to the doorway before I peeked out into the hall and glanced around a dark hall that was unlit and cold. I could hear a small roar from what sounded like a dragon before another one broke out. It sounds like two dragons are fighting. Maybe for this treasure hoard? Does that mean Laurence's old dragon is here? I heard a sharp roar before there was a thud, and another roar- triumphant sounding. I slipped out of the room quietly and started towards Laurence's bedroom to get the clothes I needed to get out of here with. I kept a quiet step and kept up against the wall in the shadow. I suddenly felt a warm breath against the back of my neck suddenly before a large snout prodded my back. I yelped and covered my mouth quickly before I turned to look behind me. Oh no I got caught! A beautiful red dragon looked down at me before it let out a curious purr and nudged me again before it rubbed its head against me. I tensed up before relaxing and rubbed his head.

"Ertis!" I heard Laurence's voice calling for someone. Laurence?! He's alive? How old is he? He sounds just the same as a few seconds ago when I was talking to him. The dragon pulled its head back and looked back behind him with a loving purr. It moved away from me quickly, moving down the hall towards the voice as it called out towards Laurence. I watched him leaving before remembering what Laurence said. He must not want us to meet and confuse himself or me. I started back on my path towards his bedroom to do like he told me. I heard the dragon growl slightly at me as it stopped and looked my way then lowered his head, glaring my way. I yelped and took off running for it to get to his room and take the clothes intended for me. It chased after me quickly, snarling. I yelped and felt my heart race. I've got to make it to his room and get what I need. It roared at me loudly and tried to get in front of me to block my path. I made sure he couldn't and tackled the door to Laurence's room then entered the room. I shut the door hard in the dragon's face then turned around slowly and glanced around it. Wow- I've never been in here. There's a huge bed in the center covered with blankets and pillows. Silk and gold. I bet the dragon sleeps in here with him to protect him. I started for the closet quickly and caught the windows open to a light breeze- they didn't have glass in them and there were heavy curtains held back by objects to let the wind in. I could hear the dragon scratching at the door, trying to get it open with a hiss. I can use the windows to escape after I change. I stepped into his closet and glanced around before I found an appropriate attire my size to wear. It'll fit me perfectly. I snatched it and changed into the outfit before I stepped out of the closet and glanced towards the door. I heard the dragon roar at the door, sounding pissed before he tried to beat the door down. I frowned and jumped out of the window quickly- landing hard on my back. It roared again before I heard the door break and the dragon poked it's head out the window, looking down at me before it puffed smoke then pulled away from the window, calming down.

I groaned out in pain before I panicked and reached into my pocket to check the watch. I let out a sigh of relief when I found it was just fine. I eyed over my outfit since it was seeable outside. I was in a white dress that was gold and silver laced along with stars being laced around it. Well... this better not make me stand out too much. I eyed over my surrounds before I frowned. Now how do I get to Alexander the Great? I sighed and started for the stables. I'm sure he won't mind if I take a few horses for my journey.

~Time Skip~

I stood outside a giant, impressive building with beautiful, lavish gardens spilling out down the front of the land. It was Babylon, June 323 BC. A few guards eyed me over as I approached it and frowned at me disapprovingly like they were wondering where my guardian was. I rolled my eyes and walked towards them with my head held high. I'll just tell them I'm an Egyptian Princess to mess with them if they ask. They watched me, and then one stepped out in front of me. "State your business," he said and looked me over before he smirked.

"Pleasure," I purred out to him and smiled. "Step aside." He raised an eyebrow and moved to the side and watched me closely.

"Are you a gift for our emperor?" He asked me and eyed my body over. I blushed. Is he eyeing me up? What a freak.

"I am not a gift. Take your eyes off of me." I glared him down quickly and kept on my way. The man frowned at me and went to stop me, but another guard stopped him and shrugged. I laughed and continued my way up the stairs. I'll find him here if he's here. I eyed over the beautiful garden and purred.

Alexander the Great's POV:

I stood in front of a window, looking out at Babylon then smirked. I've come a long way, haven't I? I'm emperor of a large empire, and there is no stopping me. I'll rule the world before this is over. I've been blessed by the gods themselves to never lose a battle. It's what they want- for me to rule over the entire earth. I crossed my arms behind my back then looked out among the gardens before I pulled away from the window and looked towards one of my maidens that served me. "Draw a bath for me," I ordered her. She nodded and started to walk off, her hips swaying slightly in her white dress. I watched her leave then smirked before I glanced back outside before I touched the sword at my side then walked out of the room, going down the halls towards my private quarters where my bath would be waiting for me.

"Emperor!" I heard a man call out down the hall. "We're throwing a gathering tonight in your honor," he said and walked up to me with a grin. I laughed a little.

"Oh, you are? When does it start?" I asked him.

"Now! Music is starting to play already, and the wine has been opened," he told me and grabbed my arm, starting to pull me down another hall. I followed him into my throne room where my guards were pouring glasses of wine to enjoy, and a feast was laid out. A few of my maidens were handfeeding grapes to the more influential of my guards. I chuckled and looked towards the men in the corner, the musicians playing songs to keep the party lively. I smirked and clapped my hands, getting my guard's attentions.

"I hope you all enjoy your time off tonight, my friends! We've been through thick and thin, haven't we? How many cities have we conquered? Too many to count," I said and heard a few laughs. "Let's all enjoy ourselves tonight. We deserve it!" I grabbed a nearby goblet of wine and held it up before I swallowed it down. As soon as I lowered my goblet, I caught the image of a woman standing in the entrance and watching me. Her hair was a bright blonde- unnatural for women around me. She was in a fresh silver, gold, and white dress that showed off her curves and breast well. She started for me then as our eyes met, and she gave me a pleased smile- pleased to see me. I never met her before. I widened my eyes slightly and looked at the goblet then at her. Is she from the gods? She's... gorgeous. I looked her in the eyes then felt one of my friends pat my shoulder.

"By the gods, she's beautiful," I heard the man who pulled me in here whisper to me. "She's coming for you too, emperor." She stopped in front of me and smiled.

"Alexander the Great?" She asked. Her voice was smooth music to my ears. I smirked a little then and shrugged the guy off me.

"That's what they call me," I told her and sat the goblet down. "I've never seen you before. What's your name?" Where's her escort?

"I'm a daughter of the gods. My name is Val." She said confidently. "I've come a long way to meet you," she said and eyed me over before something soft shined in her eyes. "The gods have asked me to come." I smirked a little.

"A daughter of the gods.... Why have they sent you?" I asked her before I took her hand in mine and gave it a soft kiss. Whoa... they sent me one of their daughters. This must be important. She's cold too like the inside of her is filled with gold.

"If you'll have me, they'd like to see us unite in marriage." She got closer to me then. "We're a divine match." A marriage?

"Oh really?" I asked her and smirked a little. They favor me that much? I looked her over then before I moved her hair back behind her ear then touched her cheek. Even if she is lying... she's too beautiful- Hell, she is probably the daughter of a god. She's too heavenly- too godly. "Then I'll do my duty and marry you as they expect of me," I told her. The man beside me laughed then and looked my way before he smirked and winked at me, walking away.

"That's wonderful," she told me before eyeing me over. "I'm looking forward to our wedding night." I laughed a little before I grabbed another goblet and offered it to her, pulling her towards my throne and sat on it before I pulled her down into my lap. I moved one of my arms around her waist and watched her curiously.

"You are? Want to join me in my bath later tonight?" I asked her and looked into her eyes. "Or would you like your own bath?"

"Would you want me in your bath?" She asked and leaned in towards my neck before she gave it a soft kiss. Her fingers curled around my hair then. I gave a soft moan then looked at her before I nodded, running my hand up to her cheek.

"Yes, I would like you to be in my bath," I whispered to her. I could feel a few eyes watching us before one of the maidens walked up with a bowl of grapes and knelt beside my throne, offering me a grape. I looked towards it then ate it from her fingers before I pulled back to look at this daughter of the gods, my future bride. I leaned in a little and kissed her forehead as I kept my hand against her cheek. She smiled at me and eyed my body over before looking into my eyes.

"I expect a child," she told me. "From you."

"A child?" I asked her and pulled her a little closer to me. "You want to bear my heir to the throne?" I asked her and smiled a little. She'll be my empress.... I moved her hair back from her ear then. The gods love me so much, they sent me their child to be my empress and blessed me to never lose....

"Yes. He'll be strong, I can assure you. Half you and half me." She eyed me over. "We'll marry as soon as possible. What day will suit you? Tomorrow?" I smirked then nodded. My empire will be delighted to find that I'm being married and blessed by the gods in it.

"Tomorrow works fine for me," I told her and leaned over as the maiden held out another grape, a small frown on her face. I smirked then ate it before I took a grape from her then offered it to Val. "I'm not conquering another kingdom tomorrow, so we can get married if you'd like." She ate the grape and gave a pleased look before brushing my cheek with her hand.

"Our marriage is going to make the gods pleased, and this land will be nurtured for many years to come and be watched over. Protected by my family. The farmers will have a good harvest."

"That's great," I told her then smirked. "We need good harvests for my growing empire," I whispered then looked her over. "I want a son first... and then a girl."

"I'll give you a boy," she promised. "Then the girl soon after. They'll be very obedient and wise." I smirked then trailed my hand against her cheek, outlining her jaw.

"I'll teach him to fight with swords," I told her then looked at her lips before I looked at her. "Let's go. The bath was drawn before I came in here. It's waiting," I whispered in her ear. She gave me smile before easing out of my lap with grace.

"After you," she told me and stepped aside to let me lead her. I got to my feet then started to walk across my throne room, side stepping my drunken men before I lead her out into the hall then grabbed her hand and looked at her.

"What do you want at our wedding, my goddess?" I asked her and pulled her close. "We'll get you outfitted for a dress in the morning and have everything done before night."

"I want the best meals you can offer me lined up on a table. Gold jewelry made by the finest to wear to the wedding. A bonfire with a sacrifice burning on top so my family can smell it cooking and be alerted of our wedding. For my wedding, I will walk on rose petals dyed gold and blue. You'll give me a personal gift. Something precious to you." I looked at her then nodded.

"Something precious?" I asked her curiously. She knows what she wants. She eyed me over before giving me a small smile.

"Yes. Because I want to be the most precious thing you have and for that to happen, you'll give up what you love most to me." I looked her in the eyes then trailed my hand over the hilt of my sword. The thing I love most... would be the weapon by my side. It was crafted for me and has accompanied me to many battles. It's perfect and has helped me level kingdoms to my will.... However, I need my sword. I can't very well give it to her. I still have battles to win.

"How about the second-best thing I love?" I asked her. "I can't very well give you my sword. I need it for war. Perhaps I could give you something else important to me."

"If you can't hand over your beloved sword for me then you'll be cursed as I won't marry you." I frowned then.

"F-fine... I'll present my sword to you," I told her and let go of it. Curses, I'll have to have another one made immediately. I can't not have a sword. She smiled and grew closer to my side then clung to me and gave my cheek a soft kiss. Her body rubbed against me softly.

"You're going to be a wonderful husband," she told me. I looked at her then before I kissed her cheek.

"You better be a worthy bride," I told her and looked her in the eyes. I took her into my bed chambers, looking up towards my room. It had a giant, magnificent bed on the far wall from the door, the posts and frames made of expensive dark wood. A pool- my bath- was waiting in the center of the floor, steam rising from it. My floors were made of cool marble, pillars at the side of my room running up to the ceiling. A balcony was off to the side, the doors shut. I looked towards her then closed the door, looking towards to some of my maidens that were waiting by the pool to bath me. I stepped towards the bath then unstrapped my sword from my side. "Leave," I told them and watched as they got up quickly and walked past me, leaving us. I looked behind me to make sure the door got shut all the way before I started to undress, starting with uncovering my chest. I felt her eyeing my body over beside me but not getting undressed as her eyes wondered over my body. I paused then looked towards her. "What is it?" I asked her then gave a soft smirk. She's never seen a man undress…? I dropped my clothing to the ground then looked towards the pool before I pushed my pants down then stepped into the warm water, getting down and sinking down to my shoulders before I gave a soft moan at the warmth on my muscles. She eyed me over and blushed before slowly taking off her dress and undergarments. She stepped into the water slowly before sinking down into the water to meet her shoulders. I looked towards her then gave a soft smirk. "Come here," I told her and held out a hand for her. "My lovely bride to be." She eyed me over before moving to me and wrapped her arms around my neck and eyed my lips over.

"Is this what you wanted?" She asked me. I gave a small nod then ran my fingers through her beautiful hair.

"Yes," I told her then lightly touched her lips. I looked at them then leaned in slightly and moved my fingers away from them, pressing my lips up against hers as I ran my fingers down to her smooth shoulders. She gasped and yanked on my hair slightly before trailing a line of kisses down to my shoulder. I gave a soft moan then trailed one of my hands down her spine, tracing it with my fingers lightly. I kissed the side of her head and moved us a little, leaning against the side of the pool and moved her into my lap with my other hand. She glanced around before starting to rub water into my head to get it wet. I chuckled then reached over to the small wooden bowl with the cloths that the maidens were going to bathe me with then picked one up, moving it to her shoulders and then started to wash her, looking her over. She eyed my hand over and smiled before resting her head on my shoulder. I smiled then gently kissed her forehead. "Are you happy?" I asked her curiously, wrapping an arm around her waist as I moved the cloth down her chest.

"Quiet. I've had a long journey to find you," she explained.

"A long journey?" I asked her then looked at her. "Tell me. It'll make a great story."

"My best friend was with me when my parents decided I would make my journey to you and make you my husband," she told me. "My parents explained that they were happy with your progress you've made. All the gods are cheering for you. Being one of the unmarried children- my father told me to marry you. My friend gave me a device- a watch that would help me come down from the heavens. Once here- I traveled a great distance and questioned many to get to you. You're harder to find than I thought. Now I'm here to marry you, and happily you accepted." I nodded then frowned.

"Watch?" I asked her and rubbed her back with the cloth.

"Oh... a god's sundial hand sized," She told me. "It's just a little more complicated but very useful." I nodded then, getting interested but stopped myself from questioning her about it.

"Very well," I told her then leaned in and gave her a soft kiss. She kissed me back before moving out of my arms and sunk down into the water- submerging to get her hair wet. She came back up then gave me a pleased look and came back to my lap. I laughed a little then grabbed some soap nearby then started to wash her with the soap, making her smell better. I leaned in and gave her neck a soft kiss as I lathered her hair up, massaging her head. She gave me a pleased look before leaning up against me and gave a tired yawn. I smiled softly then finished washing her up before I cleaned myself up then rinsed our bodies off. I picked her up by her waist then moved us out of the water, grabbing some towels waiting for us and sat her down on the ground, starting to dry her off. I looked her in the eyes then and smirked. I'm going to be married tomorrow to a daughter of the gods.... I looked her over before I leaned in and kissed her lips then pulled away, starting to dry myself off before I dropped the towel then leaned down and picked her up again, carrying her over to my bed and laid her down on the fine silk sheets. I glanced her over before I leaned over her, giving her a kiss on her lips, then her neck, and then on her collarbone. She looked up at me tiredly before glancing the bed over. She grabbed a silk sheet and brought it up her body slowly. I looked her over then crawled into the bed with her then pulled her into my arms under the sheets. I kissed her cheek then ran my fingers through her damp hair before I closed my eyes. Married tomorrow... and sword less tomorrow. She ran her fingers through her hair before kissing my arm.

"Tomorrow," she whispered. "I want a few blood sacrifices from humans."

"Blood sacrifices?" I asked her and opened my eyes to look at her. "Like their death or just their blood?" I frowned at her and looked her over. I didn't take her as a bloody type.

"They won't have to die but it would be nice. Human blood is very interesting to gods because of the color," she told me. I nodded and sighed. I can spare a few maidens.

"How would you like it done?" I moved her closer to me.

"In challises." She ran her fingers across my chest before slipping a leg over mine. I looked her over then nodded before I kissed her lips.

"It'll be done first thing in the morning before your fitting for the dress," I told her and smirked before I stole another, longer kiss. She slowly moved onto my body then, moving the sheet with her. I ran my fingers through her hair before I kissed her neck then moved my hands down to her hips, gripping them. I gave her neck another kiss before I kissed her between her collarbones. She looked towards my hands before giving me a kiss on my lips and grabbed my hands- moving to hold them down on the bed. I laughed against her lips then let her, deciding she could do this how she wanted. I kissed her deeply then and gave a moan against her soft lips. She trailed her kisses towards my neck before I felt her teeth scrape my neck and send a shiver through me a little. I gasped then tugged on my hands. What the underworld? I moved my neck away from her then and frowned at her.

"What?" She asked me. "Is it too frisky?" She laughed out and let my hands go. "Do you not like me on top?" I watched her then looked her over.

"No... I just wasn't expecting you to use your teeth," I told her then smirked. It was kind of alluring.... I leaned up and kissed her lips passionately again, adjusting the sheets a little around her. She purred before biting my bottom lip a little and started back towards my neck. I gave a moan then leaned back against the bed, letting her have her way. I trailed my hands down her sides slowly, encouraging her. She laughed softly and suddenly I felt something sharp pierce my neck. I gasped and arched my back a little before I groaned and pushed at her chest. "V-Val," I muttered. What does she think she's doing? I winced and looked over at her the best I could. I felt her lick my skin as the sharp sensation left my skin. I could faintly smell my blood. I looked at her quickly and frowned. "Val... did you bite me?" I asked her, my heart starting to race. Did she use her teeth on me?

"No," she told me. I felt her begin to suck on my neck. I moaned as I felt her sucking on me and I leaned my head back, closing my eyes. I felt a little lightheaded before she pulled away and laid down next to me- licking her lips clean. I glanced at her then frowned before I touched my neck and started to sit up but groaned as the world spun. I held my head and winced. She moved off me and grabbed a pillow, pulling it into her arms.

"Did you drink my blood?" I looked at her then, feeling slightly sick. She bit me... and drank from me.... Was I a blood sacrifice?

"No," she told me. "You're just tired. Go to sleep. We'll marry tomorrow." I looked her over then sighed slightly before I moved the blanket around her and laid back down. She did something.... Is she lying to me? I watched her then moved my hand over my neck before I closed my eyes. I'll let it go for now... but she'll tell me what she did eventually. I'll make her. I heard her breathing slow down next to me quickly- she fell asleep on me. The journey must have been long. I relaxed and then wrapped my arms around her, falling asleep beside her. It'll be fine....

I opened my eyes before I sat up slowly then looked down at my bride before I moved out of the bed and over to where my clothes were kept. I got dressed in something less formal, dressing for comfort before I looked towards the balcony and went outside, looking out at Babylon. I could see the townspeople moving around in the city below, going from market to market in the early day for the best deals they could get. My empire.... It's wonderful. I smirked then took a deep breath, letting it out. Today I get married and provide them with an empress who will give them their future emperor. I heard Val stirring a little in bed before her soft footsteps started for me.

"You're up early," she told me. I paused then looked behind me for her before I walked inside and shut the balcony doors.

"Yes, we have a lot to do today," I told her then smirked. "Let's get you dressed. You'll have your blood offerings soon, and then you'll have your dress fitted to you while I prepare the wedding." Val had one of my blankets wrapped around her body. She was walking towards me and smiled. I looked her over then went over to my clothes and picked up one of my old shirts then brought it to her, slipping it over her head and tugged it down to make it cover her butt. She glanced the shirt over before walking up to her dress and moved it around until she pulled out a heavy looking metallic object. The god tool. I followed with interest and looked it over. "Is that the watch?" I asked.

"Yes. Here, has a look but don't move anything on it or we might be separated for good." She placed it in my hands then opened it to show a sundial but it wasn't moving and seemed to work differently. I frowned and turned it over in my hands, looking the needles over inside and then the handles on the side. It must turn like how the shadow points to the hour.... These handles must control the needles too. I went to touch one curiously. Val snatched it from me quickly. "That's enough looking," she told me. I frowned at her then sighed. It is hers.... I started for the door and smiled.

"Let's get the maidens in here to get you fitted," I told her then looked back at her with a smirk. I saw her give me a smile.

"I could use a new dress," she giggled out teasingly. I nodded then looked outside, seeing one of them outside.

"Get the others. You are going to fit my bride into a fine dress for the wedding," I told her then looked towards Val as I shut the door and walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I smirked then leaned in and kissed her. She giggled and kissed me back before bringing me closer. She leaned in towards my neck and kissed it. I laughed then picked her up by her waist and carried her over to the bed, sitting her down on it. She looked up at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Alexander... You sure are hard to keep still," she told me.

"Well we do have a wedding tonight." I looked her over then kissed her cheek. She nodded.

"There is that..." She trailed off before getting up and yanked me closer to her. "I don't think we'll be attending. I'm going to make you a god first." She bit down hard into my neck and bit out a chunk before spiting it out. I let out a small groan then winced before I widened my eyes. She just bit me! I shoved her away from me then made a break for my sword, picking it up as I neared it then held my neck with my other hand. I knew she bit me last night. She groaned from the bed. She sat up and licked her lips clean of my blood as she eyed me down.

"Put the sword down," she told me.

"No," I hissed at her, glaring her down. "You're not really a daughter of the gods, are you?"

"Of course, I'm a daughter of the gods," she told me. "I'm the god of speed," she giggled out before disappearing in a blur and I felt her bite my neck again. I let out a scream of pain before I swung my sword to get her, but I felt it collide with her hand and heard something shatter as a small thud hit the floor- the watch. She pulled away from me and looked towards her feet before gasping and knelt. She picked up the watch and eyed it over. "You broke our way home!" She yelled at me.

"You bit me! You lied to me last night too," I hissed then pointed the sword at her. "Just how much have you lied?" I could feel my jaw clenching as I looked her over. She looked at me and got to her feet.

"Alex! You don't have a clue what you just done to us. We're going to spend a very long time together now with it just being us. Alone." She grabbed at her hair before frowning. "For this I won't let you have an easy turning." I frowned then tightened the grip on my sword before I slowly backed away from her.

"Turning?"

"Into a god." She started for me and bit down into her wrist and pulled back. "Drink my blood and live for eternity by my side." Her blood wasn't made of gold. I looked at her blood then at her before I frowned.

"Val," I muttered. What the fresh hellhounds is really going on?

"Alexander," she said softly. "Drinking a god's blood will make you one." I looked at her blood again before I slowly lowered the sword.

"Why would you bite me?" I asked her, feeling unsure about the whole thing.

"Usually we drain you of your blood first. You'll understand soon enough." I glanced her over before I approached her. Even if she is lying... she's still very beautiful. I took her hand then leaned in hesitantly. She watched me with interest and smirked a bit before she shoved her bloody wrist up against my lips. "Drink this and you'll gain thousands of years to your lifespan now." I widened my eyes and went to push her wrist away, but as it got on my tongue, I gave a soft moan and relaxed. I heard the clatter of my sword fall to the marble floor before I licked her wrist clean. How does blood taste this good? She watched me and smirked a little as she watched me. I glanced towards her before I looked at her wrist then closed my eyes, drinking from it as I moved closer and felt my horror at being bitten fall away with each swallow. She yanked her wrist away from me then and started for the bed. "Your turning will be tough. You'll find yourself puking soon as the turning kicks in and your body rejects everything you think you know about your body. Wake me up when you get fangs." I frowned.

"Fangs?" I asked then rubbed my lips. Puking? What is she talking about?

"You'll see very soon when my venom eats away at you," she said calmly. I frowned and started for her.

"What do you mean?" I asked her, my voice turning stern as I looked her over.

"Hmmm... how do I put it lightly? You're becoming a blood drinker."

"Blood drinker?" I stood by the side of the bed and looked down at her. She looked up at me and nodded.

"Vampire," she told me. "If that means anything to you." I frowned. Vampire?

"You're not a god, are you?" I asked her, looking down into her eyes. I've been tricked.

"Close enough- don't you think? I'm immortal, I have powers, and I'm beautiful. Oh, and we're not getting married." I tensed then.

"So, you lied to me?" I hissed at her.

"Stretched the truth. I can't marry you. I'm engaged to Laurence. He's the Prince of England." I clenched my jaw then as I watched her. She's... engaged? She tricked me.

"Why did you come here?" I growled out, narrowing my eyes.

"To retrieve you for our war in the future."

"I'm not helping you," I told her then started to walk away, going towards my sword. "I have my own empire to run, and I can't trust you. I have many more kingdoms to conque-" I groaned as I felt my blood boiling, and I fell over, my body trembling. I heard a splash before I could see that I had fallen into my bath, sinking down to the bottom of it. I sat up quickly as my lungs burned from the lack of air. I gasped as my stomach began to turn, and the air itself seemed poisonous. I leaned over the side as my body convulsed, and my dinner from last night left my wretched body. I panted as I looked around, my vision blurry before I felt a pang in my chest, and a small scream left me as the feeling of something stabbing my heart a million times coursed through my body. I was the unbeatable Alexander the Great, but I was writhing in a pool of water like a filthy rat. The pain was indescribable, and eventually I lost my sight, falling into the water again as I lost control of my muscles and my body....

I awoke, feeling the coolness of the water around my body, and all I could see was the painted mural on the ceiling- crystal clear as if I was standing only a foot away from it. I sat up slowly, feeling stronger than before but at the same time, the weakest I had ever been. My throat burned like I had been in a desert for years, lost in a sandstorm. Looking around my room, it seemed that everything was sharper in my sights. Each book on my shelves had definite endings like the rest of my room. My room was like it was one but at the same time, I could see with extreme focus that everything was its own parts. I could see small dust particles floating in front of my face, making me blink before I looked towards the bed, seeing the most beautiful woman my eyes ever laid eyes on. She was gorgeous- heavenly. Her hair looked like starlight to me, and her skin was a pretty white marble color like she was privileged, never working in a field all her life. I felt something sharpening in the inside of my mouth, cutting my mouth and making me yelp before I brought my hand up to my lips to see blood had welled up on the bottom one from the sharpness of what reminded me of snake fangs. What happened? I heard the girl on the bed move slightly and bring a pillow close to her chest. I glanced back at her then before I got out of the water, sitting on the marble before I groaned as my head pounded. "V-Val," I called out quickly, feeling off. I heard her breath softly before sitting up slowly.

"Are you hungry?" She asked before pointing her finger someplace. I could smell blood nearby. "While you were out those maidens came in to make my dress, but I knocked them out and fed from them. Have the leftovers." I looked at the maidens then felt the burning in my throat grow stronger at the sight of their red blood. I got up quickly and went over to them, biting into one instinctively and moaned at the taste of her blood. It wasn't as sweet as Val's... but the burning lessoned with every swallow. I heard Val's breathing slow back down from across the room. I moved away when I felt better and stronger then looked at her before I slowly went towards her. I looked her over before I crawled into the bed and moved close to her. She made me like her, didn't she? Her eyes opened slowly to look me over before she shut them. Is she sleeping? I frowned then looked at her lips before I lightly touched them then moved my finger into her mouth, looking for fangs like I now had. She groaned and opened her eyes slightly. "Why are your fingers in my mouth?" She asked.

"Hush," I told her and frowned, touching where they would be if she had them. She frowned and narrowed her eyes before grabbing my wrist.

"I'm the maker! You listen to me!" She yanked out my hand and gave me an angry look. I glared at her then.

"I don't listen to you," I hissed. "I'm the emperor of this place. You're in my territory, so abide by my rule and by my laws." She laughed and pushed up on my chest.

"Go catch a mouse," she told me before shutting her eyes and let my chest go. I frowned at her then looked back at her mouth before I went to look for them again, this time just opening her mouth to look inside. She hissed at me and suddenly two fangs appeared on her top row and she smacked my hand away. "Alexander!" I looked her fangs over in interest.

"So, you do have them," I murmured then touched my own lips. She rolled her eyes and closed her mouth before rolling over and let out a sigh. I frowned then got to my feet. I need to go talk to my generals about taking over that next kingdom. I started for the door but paused as I looked at my soaking wet clothes. I headed for my clothes then changed into something dry before I picked up my sword and strapped it to my waist. "I want you out of my room before the sun disappears," I told her firmly. If she's not marrying me, then she can leave. I don't want a woman who is deceitful like that.

"Fine by me. I don't need you. You're the one that needs me right now." She got to her feet and walked up to her dress before she slipped on her undergarments and dress. She started for the door to leave.

"Need you?" I asked her and watched her leaving. I felt my chest ache a little at the thought of her going and disappearing. I'd never meet another woman like her.

"As your maker... but you clearly have it all figured out. Have fun burning on a cross later when they figure out what you are." She laughed softly.

"Val," I hissed then went after her before I grabbed her arm. She looked towards my hand then up into my eyes.

"Alexander." She eyed my body over. I relaxed a little.

"What's a maker?" I asked her, keeping my grip firm.

"I made you into what you are, so I am your maker. We share a bond now. You're my newborn." She watched me. I blinked before I touched my lips again then glanced at the maids before I looked at her.

"Newborn... like a baby?" I asked and frowned. So, she turned me into what she is... a blood sucker. She came here to trick me and turn me into what she was so she could use me in a war in the future.... She nodded then smirked.

"Yes, a child. You're going to need someone like me to teach you."

"Teach me? Teach me to be like you?" I looked her over then let go of her arm. "Is that what you're going to do?" She's supposed to explain all of this to me, isn't she? I'm not human anymore....

"Of course. What are makers for?" She rubbed my cheek. "Since you've doomed us to stay here longer than expected!" She hissed out and smacked my cheek. "That watch was our only way home. Now we have to age together until we can grow back to them. We have a little over three hundred years of waiting."

"Get back to who?" I asked and rubbed my cheek. She just smacked me.... "Your betrothed husband?"

"Yes, along with my friends," she told me. "They need me."

"For a war...." I looked her over then glanced around the room before I sighed. Well... if I'm supposed to live forever now and we have three hundre- No.... I looked back at her quickly then narrowed my eyes. "What are we going to do when we don't age?" I asked her and crossed my arms. "My people will find out."

"Leave. Move." She shrugged. "We could go to Laurence now. He's alive."

"Leave?! This is my empire! I can't leave it," I told her and frowned. "I worked too hard for this!"

"You'll leave it or be burned on a cross here and shamed." I tensed. Burned on a cross? They would... wouldn't they? I studied her eyes before I clenched my jaws.

"F-fine," I muttered. "We'll leave." How could she rip me away from my dream of ruling the world? I glared at her then looked away, balling up my hands. Everything I've worked for has been ruined! I'll never be able to have this again!

"Great~" She chuckled lightly before continuing to walk down the hall.

"Where are you going?" I asked sharply and looked towards her. "This is your mess."

"What do you mean?" She asked. "I'm going to the garden. Tell them what you wish. Do as you wish." I watched her then rubbed my head.

"When are we leaving?" I asked her and followed her. "We can't stay for too long or else the death of those girls will be blamed on us."

"Burn the bodies. Leave notes that they ran away. You're smart and you always win a battle. So, do as you wish. Pick your death date. I'll make it look like you died."

"D-died?" I asked softly. I'm suddenly going to... die that way they don't burn us on crosses? "Fine," I muttered, eyeing her over. I'll have to dispose of those bodies out of sight and clean up her cursed mess.

"Enjoy your time here.... what little you have left." I growled slightly then sped up, going towards her.

"You didn't have to tear me away from my people like that," I hissed then frowned as she stopped walking. I paused then widened my eyes, seeing she was as still as a statue. "Val?" I asked, softening my voice as I looked at her. "Val, what is it?" I glanced her over then tensed as I saw some birds paused in midair outside. I looked towards them then widened my eyes. Did time just stop? I looked at her in panic then. "Val!" I reached out and started to shake her. NO! WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE AWARE OF THIS!

"Why're you touching me like that?" She asked. I let her go then sighed in relief.

"Val! The world seemed to pause, and I was the only one conscious of this...." She looked around and frowned.

"It still is," she told me. I looked outside towards the birds then frowned.

"Val, why is it paused?" I asked her quickly, getting worried. "The world isn't supposed to just... pause like this. Time stopped...."

"Well time stopped," she told me. "Must be you."

"Me?" I frowned and looked towards the birds again before I glanced down the hall then at her. I was the only one who was able to move though.... Maybe I did somehow do this. "I don't know anything about this." I walked towards the window to see outside then looked at the birds before I looked down towards the gardens, seeing servants outside paused in their daily maintenance of it. "I was the only one able to move though- before I touched you." Did my touch make her wake from this?

"It's your fault. Fix it," she told me. I frowned and looked back at her.

"How?" I asked her. It's not like I did this on purpose.... I looked the gardens over before I looked outside. This might come in handy if I can learn to control this.... If this is really me, then I should use this to benefit me. I glanced back at her then before I smirked. "You know... we could run away with it like this. We wouldn't have to answer to anyone, and they'd come up with some way I died."

"You better take some gold with you. I'm not living like a servant because you wanted to run away. Remember... I don't have rights to appear up again until way down in the future. So unless you figure out how to magically get us to my time period like this.... Then we're going to need a ton of gold." I frowned. The only reason why I would want time paused for a long time like this and run away is so that maybe... just maybe I can get her to forget about that Laurence she mentioned. I watched her then before I looked back outside.

"No... we'll stay a few days... and then we'll fake my death. It should be easy enough... and to disappear like that would leave my people looking for me when they should be watching the borders.... I don't want to lose my position for as long as I can anyways. I worked hard for this life...." I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck before I looked at her. "I'll figure something out about fixing this. It'll eventually stop at some point. I can't see it going on forever like this."

"Well it was your mind that stopped it so figure something out. You can use your mind to think about time moving again. That might work. Use the birds to help you." She looked towards the birds then. I glanced at the birds then nodded.

"I'll try," I promised her then looked the birds over. I imagined their wings beating, their shadows on the ground steadily moving as they went to their destinations, maybe a feather fluttering down to the ground where the servants worked diligently in the gardens. I concentrated on it and closed my eyes before I heard the birds tweeting and their wings fluttering as the small chatter of my servants reached me. I opened my eyes quickly and looked outside to see time moving again. I laughed and looked back at Val in excitement. I did it!

"Well..." Val watched me. "It was you. I have a cool fledgling. That gift might come in handy." I purred then walked towards her before I wrapped her up in my arms.

"Imagine what it'll be like when I can control it," I purred to her, looking down into her eyes. I could stop time as I see fit and restart it. I could do so much with it... like travel the world... take down an army....

"I bet Laurence saw this," Val whispered. "That's why he made sure I would go back in time to get you specifically," she mumbled and gave a pained look slightly before looking down at the ground. "Alexander.. I think you'll love being a vampire. There's so much more you don't know yet about supernatural. There are wizards, witches, werewolves, dragons, and much more out there. I had run from a dragon as soon as I got to this time period." I widened my eyes slightly then purred. That's awesome.... I kissed her forehead then before I tilted her head up to look at me then studied the pained look.

"What's the matter?" I asked her softly. "Did something happen?" Maybe Laurence said something to her.... She pulled her head away from my fingers and sighed.

"I lost a friend before I came back in time to get you. Laurence gave me the watch as a gift to make me feel better." I frowned then looked her in the eyes. So... Laurence, this all-seeing oracle, sent her back in time to get me as a gift to her for her friend dying....

"I'm sorry about your friend," I whispered to her. "Laurence sounds like a great man though if he was willing to send you back in time to find me as a gift to you for your friend's death." I let her go completely then and moved back an inch. "I see why you like him." How am I supposed to compete with an all-seeing oracle that does things like that for her? I frowned a bit and looked her over. I guess the answer is I don't.

"Well... He hasn't exactly been honest. He sent me back in time inside his castle. I went back three hundred years- and when I arrived... His castle was still standing, and I could hear him calling out to his dragon- the dragon I had to run from. He always made it seem he was just a few years older than the rest of us but... he's way older. Who knows how old he is? If I'm going to marry him... I want to know everything about him. He's hiding his age from everyone. Maybe it's so we'll like him more if we thought he was our age or close to it- but he's over three hundred years ahead of us that I know of. Which means... he's been trapped as a little boy for a lot longer." I frowned. That's strange.... Then again, living forever is strange. Maybe I do have a chance though. He's not being honest with her... so I'll do what he hasn't done. I'll be honest with her and open with her. I nodded to her and smirked.

"When you see him again, you should question him about it if it bothers you that much," I told her then purred before I brushed her hair over her ear.

"What if I shouldn't know?" She asked. "He does things for good reasons. He's a good person. He's got to have a good reason for not telling us how old he is."

"Yes, but it bothers you," I told her. "If you're going to marry someone, they need to be open with you. If he can't do that... then maybe you should pick who you want to marry yourself instead of the betrothal." She nodded as she thought about it.

"He's going to tell me if he wants to marry me," she whispered.

"Then keep that in mind until you see him again," I purred to her then looked down the hall before I looked at her. "Come on. Let's go have breakfast together, Val."
