"AHHHH!"
"NOOOO!"
"HELLLP!!" An array of desperate voices screech out, followed by, *BANG! BANG! BANG!* Then an enormous, *THUUUUD!* Echo's through the entire forest. Lukz immediately shakes out of his frozen state, dazedly looking around. All cries die flat, apart from a gentle weep of police sirens in the distance. Lukz suddenly snaps out of his trance, "Kevin, Don!" he whispers painfully, then bellows out,
"KEVINNN!!! DOOON!! Don't worry, I'm coming!!" at the top of his lungs! He immediately flips his bat around, snapping it into two clips which are mounted on the back of his fur jacket. Taking another quick glance to locate the exit, he sprints towards it. Dashing through the trees, he leaps over a multiple of fallen and rotten branches as they lay dormant on a bronzed leaf coloured floor. "Ah. It's so quiet. Why aren't they not calling back!" He says, anxiously. Going to scream again, as a sharp red flash soars back into the forest, causing the wind to snap direction. His eyes follow the glint of colour, tracking every step-in slow motion until it pauses. He stays still, watching a tree's branches start to rustle from there base, followed by rapidly climbing up. Gritting his teeth, he snarls with anger until noticing some treetops vigorously rustling above him. Stopping dead, he quickly glances down the beam of a humungous tree, noticing a large black blade, gingerly waving at him.
Branches start to, *snap!* and, *crack!* all around. He gases up, realising a trees canopy getting immediately closer!
"Ow, SH*T!" He shouts out, leaving his mouth gaping wide open as two giant beams start crashing towards him!
Lukz looks swiftly back to the falling trees base, to see Needle vanish amongst some overgrowing shadows. He grits his teeth, grabs his bat, then starts rapidly swinging it beside his body,
"Three… Two… One.. GO!" He calls out, launching himself sideways, using his bats momentum to catapult him.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!*
The first column explodes, landing only centimetres away from his feet, pluming a wave of leaves and soil high into the air, causing his vision to be completely blinded from the second beam. He quickly covers his mouth while mumbling,
"Thanks Thor, I knew that ridiculous flying hammer technique would come in useful one day!" Lukz giggles to himself. Suddenly, he refocuses and begins charging alongside the first fallen oak beam, down towards its base. Using it as a guide, he gently brushes his fingertips along its bark skin. A bellowing, *CREEEEK!* calls out directly in front of him! Quickly looking up, more branches and leaves start cascading everywhere, he raises his mallet high into the air, screaming, "STICK'S AND STONE'S MAY BREAK MY BONES, BUT YOU WILL NEVER KILL ME!!". He suddenly slams his sledgehammer into the ground in front of him, flipping over the top of it and launching himself upwards towards a low branch, which jars outwards from the fallen tree! He hooks himself on, using his mallet head he swings 360 degrees around it, firing himself up through the falling trees branches! Bounding left and right, he leaps onto and above branch after branch, matching the trees unfathomable speed! Climbing higher and higher and higher…. Until,
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*
The second tree obliterates itself falling directly onto the first! It rolls sideways, causing another eruption of the forest floor. Mountains of dirt rise upwards, filling the colossal forest with a soil smoke screen. Both trees lay motionless, covering almost 100ft across the forest plain, plus 400ft for its length, as they lay side by side.
A still fog gently lowers back down, everything seems to stay eerily quiet. No wind or breeze, no more sirens roaming through the oak towers, plus no sign of Lukz. Everything stands stunned at the utter destruction caused by the monstrous oak twins! Even the sun starts to slowly bury its illuminous face deep within its canopy, gradually spreading more and more darkness, consuming the forests floor! Until, a slight movement rustles on top of the first fallen beam! It shakes vigorously, when a sudden thrush launches two people out of its bushy head, one human shape, holding another. The musky air peels away, as Lukz lays folded onto his knees, holding a lifeless Kevin in his arms.
He slumps Kevin's body onto his lap, gripping him tight while softly shaking his head,
Whispering "no."
"WAKE UP YOU FREAK!! WAKE UP!!!" Lukz bawls out into Kevin's face, shaking him fearfully. He quickly darts his eyes around, glimpsing no sign of Needle, when..
*Cough, Cough*
Lukz's eyes burst open with glee! "Kevin!" he asks, in a cute baby like voice.
"Lukz? How did you find me?" Kevin wispily replies, quickly grasping his left arm in agony! Lukz gently pulls his hand away to reveal Kevin's forearm perfectly sliced open, gushing blood through his tight grey top.
He immediately grasps above the wound, quickly ripping the rest of Kevin's sleeve off, castrating his arm above his bicep.
"I had no idea you were in the tree!!What the hell happened?!!" Lukz asks, eagerly.
Kevin looks away, "We were attacked." He replies, slowly.
"What? If you were attacked out there, then why were you in here?" Lukz says, slightly confused.
Kevin clinches his arm in pain, then speaks frantically, "well, you went in and all was fine, until everything went quiet, so I shouted in to see if you were okay? Seconds later, an officer cries out in torturous pain! I quickly turned around to see him completely slashed in half! I mean, perfectly in half!! Like organs and bones all spliced into two!"
Lukz nods, "Yes, I get it?"
Kevin continues, "Then, the others got startled and began shooting randomly into the forest, it was mayhem! One officer freaked out and got in their car, to only have it crushed by a tree! I didn't know what was going on! No one did. Everything was such a blur, so I ran in here looking for you! Next, something slashed my arm? I freaked out so I climbed up a tree, then all at once, I was falling."
Kevin gazes out towards the trees, when Lukz grabs him by his shoulders, lifting them both to their feet.
"Did you see what attacked you?" Lukz asks, cautiously.
Kevin shakes his head, "No. It was too fast?" He replies, panicked.
Lukz scowlers, "Good. We need to go! Darkness is settling in and there is no way we can fight it in the dark?" Lukz's says, hastily tugging him and Kevin back towards the entrance.
"WHAT, FIGHT WHAT! DID YOU SEE IT!" Kevin shouts back.
Lukz's eye's glaze over with fear, "yes." He replies sharply, staring straight ahead.
He grabs Kevin, causing them both to start running.
"Well! What is it! Plus, What do you mean, we fight! What aren't you telling me.", Kevin asks, aggravated.
"It's big, bigger than all the rest." Lukz replies, checking left and right while they run, when a small rustling noise rings behind them, he flinches, quickly turning around to see the same crippled body, with crimson red smears draped over its suit, standing still, only a few meters in front of the oncoming darkness.
He spins back around, then starts charging towards the exit, rapping Kevin around his shoulder.
"Lukz! What's there!" Kevin says, snapping his head backwards, to only see a giant wall of darkness creeping towards them.
Lukz stays silent, mumbling nonsense to himself.
"What the hell is going on!" Kevin cries out. Lukz ignores him, quickly darting his head sideways, "Right, we need to head over that mound." He calls back, pointing towards a steep, leaf covered growth of dirt, only a few hundred meters away when another flash catches his eye, this time, a lot closer! He instantly darts behind a tree, dragging Kevin with him. Lukz peers to his side, gently squinting his eyes, trying to pick out any glimmer of light he can? When he notices it again, the same outline of Needle, just standing ominously amongst some shadows.
"How is this happening?" Lukz queries, cowering them both behind a tree.
"How is what happening?" Kevin askes, confused.
Lukz quickly glances around again, noticing the sun hastily setting, causing every inch of forest to be consumed by an unnatural darkness.
"We need to sprint for the exit!!" Lukz says, hushly, staring straight towards Kevin.
He looks back, completely dazed by Lukz's erratic nature, "Okay. What ever you say."
They both gently headbutt one-another, then mimic the same words, "To the end, brother!"
followed by "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!". launching themselves, they both start stampeding towards the mound, only to be slashed by an almighty gust! Kevin grasps his leg, hobbling forwards as blood spews out!
"AHH! That's enough!" Lukz screeches! Yanking his bat from his back, staying focused on the exit while listening to every little movement around them both! Every second which passes by gets slower than the last, each step cracks through the earth, every single breath gets deeper and deeper, puffing out a winter white smoke as they both storm ahead! Lukz focuses on each individual rustle or drip, using them as a compass for movement, every flicker of light becomes a lifeline for survival, every noise becomes precious and absolute. Kevin dive's over the mound, Lukz spins in mid-air, raising his mallet up, ready to pummel.
A humongous blade flashes across Kevin's face, his eyes dart upwards, followed by a fearful wine, "N-N-N-N-Needle!''
"YOU'RE MINE NOW, BI*CH!!" Lukz shrieks out!
