*SCREEEECH!* Lukz's blue and red head lights beam across a dingy car park, lighting up a large sign which reads,
Reece, With A Spoon.
Pub and Grill.
The sign hangs dormant above a Tudor aged building, as Lukz shuts off his engine and storms out his car, barging inside he flings the doors wide open while staring directly towards two empty seats at the bar. Furious with a concoction of emotions he flies over to them, smashing his bat down, petrifying a barman.
"I need 2 Dibbles, NOW!" he demands! Everything falls silent, Lukz squints, piercing his vision straight through the barman's emerald green eyes, he quickly loosens his gaze to glance eerily around the pub, making sure to pauses an ominous glare at each individual.
"What! What are you looking at!", He shrieks out, standing up while waving his bat and mallet around! Everyone quickly diverts their attention,
Lukz slowly sits back down, whispering to himself, "Exactly! I'm a freak!".
He pauses for a second, then promptly smashes his hand back on the bar,
"WHERE ARE MY ..." He roars, but is stopped mid-sentence by a tall, long, sensual, ginger haired bar maid appearing from behind a case of beers, she takes a quick look towards him with a slight scowl, then slides a pair of bottles along the counter, stopping right in front of him.
"What's up with you, hunnie boo." She says in her soothing welsh tone.
"A,a,aimee.." Lukz stutters with a wispy gasp. His eyes blare open, when out of nowhere he erupts into tears, collapsing into his arms.
"Woh, woh, what's wrong Lukz? Aimee asks alarmed, rushing over to him.
Lukz continues to sob, while mumbling, "Yo-r d-d, aim-e."
She shifts a little closer, trying to make out Lukz's muffled words,
"My what?", she replies.
Lukz gradually pulls his head out from his arms, weeping with tears,
"Your dad. He, he won't be coming in tonight." He says, intently gazing into her soft white face.
Aimee snarls, "What do you mean, he's not coming in? He's here every day?" she replies, surprised.
Lukz takes a deep breath, locking into her deep chestnut brown eyes. "He's not coming in because... he's. dead." Lukz wails painfully, staying fixed onto her. Aimee pulls back, stunned,
"he's, he's. dead." She stutters.
Lukz gently nods, looking away in shame. Her glinting eye's slowly fill with tears, weeping from a shattered heart. She stares directly towards the empty bar stool next to Lukz,
"But, but, this can't be?..." She moans, filling with rage! "He wasn't there for years and now... why now!" she blurts out!
"Aimee, I'm so sorry! I tried..." Lukz gently grabs her arm, but she throws him away.
"This was your fault! All those years of trying to keep you out of trouble! I knew it would ruin his life!" She screeches at him!
"Aimee please, you don't understand." Lukz says frantically.
"Ow, don't worry Lukus. I know more than enough." She adds, searing with anger.
"Aimee, please, just listen to me!?" He shouts!
"NOOO!!" She bellows out, "You never cared for him! You always use to push him away, no matter how hard he tried to be there for you! He was a terrible father to me and did everything he could for you! I bet you let him die!"
Lukz snarls towards her, "I would never do that! I would put my life on the line for any of you!" He howls back!
*Tut*, Aimee shakes her head with disgust, "What a lie! He tried to do everything he could for you after your mother's death…. Or should I say, after you murdered her!"
Lukz's hysteric mood instantly boils into a flood of rage, *CRASSSSSH!!* He skin bursts into more inferno black flames as he crushes his mallet onto the bar, causing it to completely collapse!
A shockwave ripples throughout the pub, hurling everything up into the air! Lukz swells with anger, pulsing with the pure pain which lingers within him, his voice deepens, causing it to thunder with an omnipotent tone,
"I DID NOT KILL MY MOTHER! SHE WAS MURDERED, JUST LIKE YOUR DAD!".
Instantly followed by a quick painful breath, his rage evaporates, skin fades to its standard pasty white colour as he calmly sit's back down on the only standing bar stool, sipping his beer.
Aimee stands completely stunned by Lukz's god like abilities, "Wow! What the hell was that!" She asks desperately.
Lukz shakes his head, "I don't know! The same thing happened to me after Don sacrificed himself. I was enraged with pain, there was so much inside me, I guess it just burst out?" Lukz weakly replies.
Aimee's eyes flair open, "HE DID WHAT!" She screams out.
Lukz freezes, "Wait! Like I said, just hear me out?" he asks, fearfully.
Aimee grabs a bottle of whisky from behind her, then gulps it down in a matter of seconds, "Save your breath. I don't know why I'm getting so upset? He never cared for me anyway. I was nothing to him." She replies, woefully
Lukz digs into his fur jacket pocket, yanking out a crumpled piece of paper,
"That's not true! Here, look at this.", he says sincerely, peeling open his hand to reveal a creased picture of him, Kevin, their mum, Don and a small ginger girl, all by the seaside.
Aimee immediately grabs it, when her jaw drops down, "Ha. This was when we all went to Weymouth. Why have you got this?" She asks, intently.
Lukz leans forwards, softly grabbing her, "Don had this in his hand when he passed.", he replies, calmly sipping his beer.
Amiee turns towards him, "Really?" she asks, pleased.
Lukz smiles at her, "Yeah, I guess he wanted to remember the things that were special to him?" He replies, happily.
Aimee looks down at the picture, "But, I thought he only came in here to drink! I didn't know he cared!" she says, frustrated.
"Of course, he cared! You know he didn't just drink in hear because he wanted to get drunk, he drank in here because he couldn't stand to be away from you! Yes, the alcohol poisoned him after my mother's death. Why do you think he was never able to adopt you back? Or even take me and Kevin in? He couldn't take care of his own daughter, let alone his best friends' kids? I don't hold anything against him, he was a great man and did everything he could to make sure you, me and Kevin were always safe. Even if that was in foster care?" Lukz replies, holding back another stream of tears.
Aimee pouts in pain, "Well, I know what you mean, but that will never be enough to repay the years he wasn't around? After your mum died, he just lost it? He couldn't stop.", she says, holding back more and more discomfort.
Lukz softly nods. "I know, I hurt every day of my life. If I had just held on a little tighter..."
He suddenly flashes back to the moment his hands slipped from his mother's gown. His eyes clouded by pain and misery, flames blaring behind her, engulfing his last flicker of hope. '
"MUMMYYY!", echo's around him like a sea of noise until, *CRASH!*
Lukz flinches his head forwards, awakening from his daze,
"It haunts my every moment! THERE IS NOTHING THAT WILL STOP ME FROM KILLING EVERY LAST ONE!!" Lukz cries out, smashing his hands down!
"Lukz! Calm down!" Aimee asks kindly, grabbing his fur collar, pulling his face right up against hers. "Please, tell me why he sacrificed himself?". she asks, anxiously.
He stays silent, slowly looking away.
She grapples him tighter, "Please! I need to know!"
Lukz quickly looks back towards her, "Aimee, I don't know why? You need to ask Kevin. But, this thing wasn't like the other demons?" Lukz says, picturing Needles every feature.
She scowls, "Fine. I'll call him later. First, how was this one different?", she asks, confused.
Lukz closes his eyes, "It's arms were like blades, it was as fast as lightening, taller than any human or living thing!?", he shakes his head, staring directly towards her.
Amiee scrunches her face, muddled, "You look petrified... was it that bad?!"
Lukz sips his beer, then glances down,
"It wasn't that it was bad, it was the fact that.... I imagined exactly the same thing, a few nights before it came alive?" Lukz says, clenching his fists.
Aimee's eyes blare open, she quickly grabs his arm, dragging him over the collapsed bar, pulling him through a door which states,
No Entry.
She throws him in, slamming it behind them.
*Click*, a dim light bulb slowly flicks on, until *pffft* it blares a strict beam of light directly onto a giant mapped wall, with each location having pictures of burnt/frozen corpses. Lukz squints his eyes, trying to get a better look,
"Aimee, what is all this?" he asks, confused.
She grabs a long wooden stick, then points it directly towards a picture of Lukz's burnt house, showing the remains of some dagger like teeth with, unspecified stamped across them.
"Okay, you said you imagined the demon, before it came alive?" she asks, intently.
"Yeaah? What's this got to do with it?" He replies, confused, rubbing the back of his head.
"Well, the first one. The one which you say killed your mother? Did you dream of that?" She asks, staring towards him.
He nods, "Yeah. Yeah I did!" He replies, shocked!
"Okay! Well, this is where my dad would come every time you two were solving a case. I picked the lock once and saw what he was trying to do?" She says, slightly aggravated.
"Wait, what was he trying to do?" Lukz askes, baffled.
"Ahh, you idiot! He was trying to prove your innocence. Until he discovered a connection between you and the demons! Look…." *SNAP, SNAP, SNAP, SNAP*, She points too various names.
Masey Lane - 44 - Psychologist - Divorced - 2001
Dave Stewards - 35 - Dream Therapy - Divorced - 2003
Paul Signam - 67 - Abnormal Activity Neurologist - Single -2009
Emily Forbs - 30 - Epilepsy Specialist - Divorced - 2017
...
"... more and more Abnormal deaths kept occurring? Until a pattern started to appear?" she says, staring at him.
"What?" Lukz replies, shaking his head.
"Don't you see! Each death was someone who studied, YOU?!"
Lukz raises his eyebrows in shock.
"They all died by abnormal causes, most of which I am sure your familiar with!" she says, sarcastically.
"yeah, YEAH! Your right! I know every one of these. Each one had a link with me, after my mum's death!" Lukz shouts out, then points to Masey Lane,
"She was my psychologist? She never questioned the truth of what happened... she always wanted to know more?". Then he points to Dave Stewards, "He took me through sleep therapy, I was never allowed to see the results? Paul Signam, wrote a thesis on my so called visions, explaining something about an otherworldly experience?" Lukz replies, shrugging his shoulders while scrunching his face?
He starts pacing up and down, quietly talking to himself, "Everyone who believed me about the demon's is dead? Every creature I have faced has always felt familiar. Until Needle... he basically pop right out of my....." Lukz stops and spins towards Aimee.
"WAIT! It all makes sense!" Lukz starts panting quicker and quicker. "I can't believe this!" he says harshly!
"WHAT! WHAT!?" Amiee asks rapidly
"Well, considering all this. He must have been close! He must have linked that...
Lukz suddenly freezes, grabbing his head in agonising pain, "AHHH!!!" he cries out, collapsing to the floor while tightly clamping his head! A repugnant, severed white skinned woman, flashes before his eyes! Her hair flows as if being drowned in a black sea of lost souls, her eyes bleed with tears of a rich crimson red blood, teeth gnarled and black as if they had been battered inwards.
"Come on Lukz, your so close." Its echoing, fractured voice calls out...
"AHHHHHH!!" Lukz grasps in front of himself, then flashes his eyes open! His hands grab firmly around Aimee's neck! She gasps for air as Lukz suddenly realises he's grip around Aimee's neck! "SH*T!!" he shouts, instantly ripping them away, quickly loosening his hands, causing her to rappel to his side.
*GAAAAASSSP*, "What the hell LUKZ!" She howls at him!
"I saw the face! She spoke to me?!" He says erratically, shuddering with fear.
"What? What face!? What did she say?!" she replies confused, staggering back to her feet.
Lukz helps her up, "It was one I have seen in my dreams before! But..., but, this time, it felt more real... this time I could feel her pain and anger pulsing through my every vain! I don't get this! I never see them twice! Plus, she told me I was close?" Lukz shouts, clamping onto his hair covered and hairless sides of his scalp.
"Woh, calm down! Just think for a minute", Aimee says, shocked.
"No, you don't get it! Your dad worked out that every time I think, dream or imagine something about a deadly evil demon thing, they somehow... come to life?! Now he's dead? Just like the others! Maybe they knew something as well?" Lukz's eyes blast open in disbelief from his own words.
"Wait, so you're saying the thing which killed my dad and all the others, somehow came from your mind?" Aimee asks, muddled.
"Well, I don't know, but… that makes the most amount of sense?" Lukz replies, baffled! "I need to call Kevin!" he quickly adds.
"Wait, Lukz!", Aimee stutters. "Maybe I can help?"
He raises his eyebrows, missed by Aimee's gesture. "How can you help?" he replies.
"Well, I know my dad's work Laptop, password? Maybe we could find something about these people who studied you, on there?" She smiles.
Lukz pauses for a second, then nods, "Hmmm, okay. Normally I'd let Kevin do the thinking, but your way hotter than him, so I might have to change that." He replies, winking towards her with his one clear blue eye.
Aimee slightly smirks, then pulls her expression back, "I'm doing this for my dad, not you.", She says, barging him out the way.
"Oooo, feisty one you are." He gargles in an alien like voice.
