"What are your cravings tonight?" I asked her before we go to the restaurant she wishes to eat.
"Am, I want some Italian dishes. I have been thinking about it just a few hours ago. " Shana shyly said. I always find it cute when she is blushing.
"Okay, I got in." I dialed some number of my favorite Italian Restaurant nearby the company. I told them what we like to have so that when we get there, everything is ready. I know it is not good for an expectant mother to starve.
"Come on, let's heading to my one of my favorite Italian Restaurants here in NY." I said as I let her go first.
Well, this is not me at all, inviting her to have dinner with me. I erased those thoughts of inviting a woman to have dinner with me if it is not business related but guess what I did a while ago.
It slipped in my mind when it comes to her. Then, there is nothing wrong having dinner with her, we are just friends.
'Are you sure Colton that Shana is just a friend to you?' My thoughts were debating. I took a deep breath then assist her to my car.
Opening the door for her and helping me with the seatbelt. Her belly is really so big already and I could not help but place my hand to touch it.
Her eyes were in shock as I did it. But she gave me a small smile after. Going to the driver side I found myself smiling. So, this is what it feels like to be an expectant father.
Once I was inside, turning my face on her. "Are you comfortable?" I asked before starting the ignition.
"Yes, I am fine. Thank you for asking." She replied.
We ended up to an Italian Restaurant since I asked her where she wanted to eat. I let her choose because I know pregnant women sometimes were choosy. She was hesitated at first but I insisted and here we are.
The waiter jotted down one by one our dishes and left. I keep on glancing at her, studying her appearance. Why on earth she chose to be covered with some thick eyebrows which I knew it was not her natural brows. Even wearing eyeglasses, she can use contact lens just as I met her in the event.
She cleared her throat and my eyes met hers. "Is there something wrong with my face?" she asked politely.
She caught me again staring at her longer. "Would you like to go out with me?" I asked out of the blue which is not what I am going to say. Nevertheless, I already said it loud so I guess there is no turning back my words.
I am still looking at her, she seems shocked blinking in her eyes.
"A-are you asking me on a date?" she asked back with a doubtful in her eyes.
I nodded. "Yes, I am asking you to go out with me on a date. Well, considered this as our first dinner date but I want to invite you again and again."
She laughed silently then rubbed her tummy looking at me. "Are you even serious? Asking me for a date, an eligible bachelor in the city. Asking a woman who is pregnant in front of you a DATE, really?" she shook her head. "Why? I mean, why are you doing this? Is this one of your jokes? If it is, I am laughing." She really laughed.
"Why not?" I spoke. "I am not joking at all." That I said without blinking seriously.
"Are you making fun of me, Colton?" she said, raised her eyebrows. As I still looked straight in her eyes, she has a beautiful eye. "I am pregnant for Christ's sake w-with other man."
I got hurt in my heart when she said other man is the father of our baby. I calmed myself I know she just said that because she thinks I do not know about her secrets.
"No, why are you saying I am making fun of you. What is wrong if I date a pregnant woman?" I stared at her. She did not say another word because our foods came in again. We ate in silent, I still watched her in every move. I know she was thinking because of her silence.
I do not know what came unto me and I said that a while ago. It never my intention, it just came out unexpectedly since we were in her office inviting her for dinner then asking her on a date with me. Her as a pregnant woman, I know she has some doubtful of my intention but I will not go back with my words.
I wanted to be there for them and for her all the way. From what I discovered this day was just a plus knowing she was that person who unleashed my feelings again.
Her appetite was increasing and I do not mind since she is not the only one eating. They were two of them. She was gaining but still beautiful. It never helps her make up covering her true beauty.
"Oh my gosh! I ate too much." She blurted out as she keeps on touching her tummy. "This restaurant is really one of the best. I am sure I will be back."
"Do not worry anywhere you wish to eat. I will take both of you there." I promised. She was blushing again. It doesn't matter to me what they want as long as I am always there for them.
I do not want to waste anymore moments of her journey with our baby. Few months were wasted on me already. But I would not think about the past that I missed rather gaining more moments with her and our baby too.
"Come on, let's take a little bit walking before we go home." I spoke.
"That would be nice to hear because I ate a lot and I could not help it." Shana smiled.
