By the time lunch came, Nora was the talk of the school. She was beautiful, graceful in her movements, cold but gave a gentle aura, and admired people's existence. Her nickname was Princess Belle. Kind, smart, beautiful.
She was unlike most popular, pretty girls in her whole school. She was different, but it was a good change that the school needed. She had made many friends. Although she was aware of why they wanted to get close to her.
Popularity, Money, Attention.
Although, Nora was fond of Jennie. She was kind, and easy to be around. She didn't seem sketchy or popularity seeking, she seemed like she wanted a friend. So Nora and Jennie walked to classes together for ones they shared, but if not they parted ways. They got along, and were able to open up easily with each other. They listened to one another, and shared many laughs. After Jennie packed her belongings, they walked to Nora's locker to put her stuff away. When Nora opened her locker, notes and flowers spilled out.
Completely overwhelmed by the sight, Nora was in shock, but quickly composed herself before cleaning up the mess. Carefully placing the notes back in her locker and retrieving her lunch, she went on her way to the cafeteria before mentally reminding herself to read the notes later.
Once entering the cafeteria, many people eyed her and stared at her. Even at such a young age many admired her qualities. How could they not? She was stunning and brilliant. Avoiding the obvious stares Nora searched for an empty table to sit with Jennie.
She swiftly swept her soft gaze over the cafeteria. Briefly meeting the gazes of many people, she spotted an empty table in the middle of the cafeteria.
"Over there in the center?" she asked while turning to meet Jennie's gaze. Jennie gave a nod heading to the table with Nora following. Calmly passing by many people, Nora could feel their tenseness. She saw how they held her breath when she neared close to them. 'Are they that afraid of me?' Quickly brushing the thought away she quickened her pace to avoid the tense atmosphere. Once at the table they sat and opened their lunches, to get rid of the awkward tension.
Feeling the stares piercing her she felt a different gaze watching her. Slowly drawing her eyes away from her food she turned her body to see a group of girls glaring at her from afar. They weren't gawking at her so she knew they hated her. But what for?
Once they realized Nora was watching them, they turned their attention away from her, earning more confusion on Nora's part.
Furrowing her brows she repeated the gesture and turned to eat her food, forgetting about the stares.
"Are we doing something wrong?" Instantly stopping from chewing Nora gazed back at Jennie with a questioning expression. "What I mean is, why are the girls glaring at us?"
Holding a hand up she quickly chewed and swallowed her food before answering. "To be honest Jennie, you guess is as good as mine." Earning a soft laugh in response they continued chatting and enjoying their free time.
While laughing along with Jennie, Nora felt a dominant presence enter the cafeteria. Earning the students to be silent she turned her gaze to a group of guys entering with a dangerous aura. She could feel the presence and the dominance from their movements. They were all elegant and confident in their looks. She could already tell what kind of people they were. Unintentionally a soft scoff escaped her lips. Although once she did, she regretted ever doing so.
Girls from all tables whipped their heads and gazed Nora down. They were all like serpents staring down their prey. But they weren't all debating who would take her, they were all hunting together. Although shocked and confused, she could not understand how they were able to whip their heads too fast to gaze at her. Ignoring the stares she turns around to see Jennie's wide eyes.
"What? Are you ok?" she asked with a concerned expression.
"There walking our way."
Furrowing her perfect brows she turns around to see the gang of boys walking confidently towards them. 'Why are they walking to us?' she mentally asks herself.
While her eyes stay fixed on a single boy, he returns a dominant gaze into her eyes. Feeling the aura stiffen, the closer they near to her, he swiftly sits beside Nora with his legs spread and his hand supporting his head while staring at her features.
Nora could feel the threatening air suffocating her, but when she looked at the guy beside her he looked relaxed and unbothered by her presence. 'Strange,' she thought.
Seeing how their friend has taken his seat, the guys follow his lead and crowd the small table for five, making it fit seven.
Being squished between two guys, with Jennie in the same position, she got a whiff of their colognes.
Since Nora grew up around wealthy and privileged people, they often smelled strong and intoxicating. They all had a strong stench lingering on them. But, the guys all smelled good and cold?
'Cold?' she thought to herself, quickly shaking that weird thought. Silently debating it to herself, she couldn't put a finger on how they all smelled cold and refreshing, simply drawing her senses to them. Putting the thought aside she returned her attention to her surroundings.
"Excuse me, but may I ask why you have all decided to join me and my friend?" Nora asks while eyeing all of the guys but stopping her gaze when finding the boy beside her was staring at her.
A guy with blonde hair and green eyes spoke up, "Excuse me, but may I ask why you and your friend sat at our table?" he asks with a slight friendly smirk on his lips, avoiding the previous question.
"For all I know, you can not claim a table, but if I knew you guys would cause such an entrance, then please next time place a 'reserved' sign on it." Although she was calm and composed with her features, Nora was starting to be annoyed.
"No prob-"
"Next time be sure to not sit at our table doll, ok?" Turning her head to meet eyes with the guy who seemed annoyed, she kept a straight face.
'The more handsome they are, the more bitchy they seem,' she mentally said to herself before letting an annoyed sigh escape her lips.
While glaring back at the boy, a cold aura hangs in the air making them hold their breaths from the suffocating change in atmosphere. While keeping eye contact, she coldly responds, "And who exactly are you?"
Knowing perfectly well that by not acknowledging him and giving him the usual attention he receives, she will be hitting a nerve. By keeping calm and not drooling over him, he will feel unpleasant. By asking who he is, she will surely upset the guy. But who can she kid, that was what she wanted. To be fair she didn't even care who he was, or what his family name was. He was starting to annoy her more and more. It was about time she returned the favor.
Quickly pushing the shock from his features, he still could not believe the difference in her attitude. She changed from a calm, pleasant girl, to a cold, dominant ice queen!
Giving his signature smirk, he licked his soft lips, and leaned slightly forward making Nora calmly back up. His smirk widened seeing her reaction, although he was surprised she pulled away from 'him'.
"Tae Park, nice to formally meet you."
