Chapter 17 - Flashback pt. 5

"-To the likes of you…." Having those words repeating in his head, the utter confusion noticeable in his eyes clouds his mind. Thankfully for her ignoring his presence, she didn't see his expression.

'To the likes of you?' Slowly approaching her seat he drags another chair to place it backward in front of her desk. Sitting down, he runs a hand through his hair, leans closer propping up his arm on her desk with his chin on his palm. A dark aura runs through his body leaving and surrounding his build. Cocking his head to the side he focuses his gaze on her face as if to remember every detail and every perfection engraving it in his mind. But it was quite the opposite. He wanted to see the changes in her expression to find a crack in her facade. A smirk turns the once straight line into a devily, handsome grin.

"Now doll…. That should be my line." Even as his dark smirk plays on his lips, the cold, dominating tone does not go unnoticed by all in the classroom. The small chuckles only made the aura more freezing. 'Was it always this cold in this classroom?' Nora thought.

A soft scoff escapes her lips. "It should be anything but your line Park." Turning her head, she notices his presence much, much closer than she expected. His cold sent fogging her senses, she freezes, almost forgetting her act. Letting go of her breath she quickly turns her head away, to avoid seeing his face.

Each response, each jester, or expression drove him mad in so many different ways. 'It should be anything but your line Park.'

'What the hell does that mean?! Must she always act so difficult?' A deep sigh leaves his mouth. Rolling his eyes he stands swiftly and makes his way closer to Nora. Walking around the desk, trailing a finger on her arm, bringing it up to her shoulder and down her small back. He suddenly slams his hands beside her small frame trapping her between him, earning a small flinch. Noting how he went soft too dominant, Nora knows she must be careful with her next moves. She didn't mind messing with Tae, but being alone with him and his friends in a classroom made her defenseless.

Startled was not how surprised Nora felt. Even Tae didn't know what he was doing. How did she have such power over his emotions? She could instantly anger him and play with his tempers. One moment he could contain himself, next he loses it and becomes aggressive. Only because of her challenging rebuttals, calm expressions, and unfazed aura. He was losing control over himself, and he was fully aware. In fact, all the guys could feel it. They wanted to intervene, but who knows what that would do. Most likely make matters worse than solve this stupid problem.

Her small body was no match compared to his. He was taller and stronger making this game almost unfair. With his tall build hovering above her from behind, he leaned his head down and brought his godly lips closer to her ear.

Feeling the warm, steadied breath on her skin she reflexively flinches and slightly leans her ear away from his lips.

Seeing her flustered state, a low chuckle makes its way from his throat, leading to his breathy breaths tickle on Nora's skin.

"I suggest you play nice for the time being doll. My patience is already as low as it is, and I don't wanna do something I'd regret so... watch yourself." Hearing the warning in his deep voice, she subconsciously gulps.

A grin pulls the ends of his lips as he stands keeping his gaze trained on Nora. The small gulp did not go unnoticed. Smiling triumphantly he says, "Two can play at that game..."

It was almost in the same cocky tone she used. Did he just return the deed? Use her phrase and return the rebuttal? 'Ha, how original of you.' An annoyed expression clouded her face. He may be attractive but his personality sucks! It practically angered her!

Nora was by far ready to burst. Maybe even shout, but what would that do? Create more problems, and that's the last thing she wants. So taking a deep breath she let him enjoy this small victory. She just needed to calm down and return to herself.

Tae was fairly satisfied. He beat Nora at her own game. Sure this was a pitiful thing to be proud of but he ignored the glares from his friends. In fact, he already knew they were looking at him in disbelief and annoyance. Who wouldn't?

But beneath the grin, he was confused. 'Why is this so satifying? Am I that happy to make her seem mad? Annoyed? Sad?' He was worried. He didn't want to enjoy this as much as he did. He also didn't want this to turn into something regular. As much as he did enjoy her low points, he was starting to worry about this new behavior.

Almost as if on cue, some students entered the classroom melting the tension. Seeing the company, Tae makes his way over to his seat near his friends ignoring the now calm Nora McCann. Maybe it was best that he tried keeping his distance. His behavior is getting out of hand, and not only is it worrying him, but all the guys are also concerned. The silence between the group of boys killed them all. But they were all lost in their own thoughts. Ever since they encountered Nora, things have been off.

'More off than Tae's mood swings and that's saying something,' Aiden thought.

….

After science, the day went by almost normally. Almost like a picture perfect, school day should be. But in the near future things would change. But not for the best. Ever since Nora was born, fate never seemed to be on her side, and certainly today fate wanted to test her. To make her suffer. To change the once innocent and young girl she was supposed to be. Some stories don't always have happy endings, and in those stories there are points where crying and giving up seems best. Present Nora would know, but future Nora was about to live the most painful roller coaster she could ever imagine...
