Chapter 14 - Suckers.

Walking into the guild we grabbed then attention of all the adventurers in the area who were talking and drinking happily at the bar and tables.

Clyde is a pretty popular man and is well liked by everyone as he's honest and kind. So people would call out and wave to him and ask about me curiously.

"This is my 6 year old son he's come here to see the glory of the adventurer guild so you nimrods better not make me look bad." he said with a booming laugh.

A pretty guild worker walked over and started pinching my cheeks. "He's so cute Clyde why haven't you brought him sooner." she says with a laugh.

"Well he's been busy with school." he explains.

"We know, there hasn't been a day you haven't bragged about having a magic swordsman for a son." a gruff warrior at the bar laughed along with everyone else.

"So what brings the little magic swordsman to visit our wonderful establishment." the guild worker lady asks me.

"Well i have a business proposition for some of your more well known lovers of alcohol." I say with a smile at the words alcohol some of the people in the guild perk up and eye the crates of jarred liquid.

"what kind of proposition are you talking about little one?" one of the burly guys at the bar asks.

"Well I bet to be more precise." I say with a smile and pull out a jar filled with gold coins.

"In this jar is 100 gold coins and I will give 79 of you guys a chance to win it by playing a game with me that involves drinking. You see in these glass jars are the alcohol that I made when I was bored. All you have to do is pay 100 gold coins drink a jar and not get drunk if you don't get drunk I'll give your money back and my own. Unless your afraid of losing a bet with a child are any of you interested?" I ask with a challenging smile.

There's a lot of laughter and some fun taunting. "Are you sure your little jar of water can get anyone drunk." one of them asks with a laugh.

"Well then why don't you test it out unless of course your too broke to play then I guess I would have to go see if the Knights had more money than some scruffy adventurers." I say adding fuel to the fire.

"Little brat I'll win that money and show you how tough we adventurers are." The man says pulling out a coin pouch and counting out the gold before putting it in a jar next to mine.

He grabs a jar from a crate and downs it all in one gulp. Then we wait for a few minutes as he had already been drinking the effect move faster and he starts to slur his words and wobble.

"Sheee? Nuffin wrong wifff me tis jusss watah?" he says before crashing face first into the floor and snoring.

"Wow adventurers really are light weights only one jar and he's down for the count. Guess i will have to go to the Knights to sell my goods, This stuff is much to strong for you ladies my apologies." I say and the guild worker giggles.

Hook line and sinker.

The adventurers started lining up dumping gold into empty jars before drinking into a stupor.

The only winner of this whole fiasco was me with my 79 jars filled with 100 gold coins. we loaded the crates back into the cart before telling everyone I was out and would be able to bring more back in two weeks.

Of course by then word of the insane alcohol that knocked out 79 people drunk in the adventurer guild would spread far and wide.

Now using this money I could buy a couple of things I wanted.

We headed over to the magic beast shop in the business district. Not all magic beasts are violent as there are some that work like regular animals and people eat them like beast type pigs and cattle.

I wasn't looking for these however. What I was looking for was wood fairies and monster worms.

The wood fairies love to take care of plants and such and are often used by nobles to keep their fancy gardens looking nice. I was going to get a few for my inner world to help take care of plants.

The monster worms are just big worms that help plants grow by keeping the soil fertile they feed off plant waste and old dirt basically.

I bought the 3 fairies they had on sale for 1500 gold total and then bought a bucket full of monster worms for like 50 gold. I bought some little wooden houses for the fairies to live in and we headed back to the house.

We entered my internal world and I made a little spot for the fairy houses as the fairies happily flew around and played and looked at all the plants using wood fairy magic to heal any rotting parts or watering them with little canteens I bought for them.

I poured the worms evenly in the different fields and they just wiggled into the ground and did what worms do.

Next I upgraded my little hut to a small house for 3 thousand gold. It had a kitchen a bathroom a living room and 2 bedrooms. I could make it bigger later on.

Next I bought four more stills and then a wine still. I also made another small field and added trellises for wine grapes and planted seeds for those.

After getting all the times I needed I had a little less than 3 thousand gold I'd save this for items I may need later on.

With 5 stills working in the next couple of weeks we would have a lot more moonshine going.

I didn't want to make too much in one go as if you starve the market but give them little tastes the price goes up.
