"Stop"
The car came to a screech as the driver stopped suddenly. Master Kwan got off the car and walked towards the dirty looking girl who was hugging her knees at the corner of the street. She looked miserable all over, but her eyes were still so bright that it gave him the impression she could see straight to his very soul if she looked closely. He approached her quickly which startled her into standing up. She held the hem of her dress nervously as he stood at arms length to her.
"Hello, what's your name" he querried. She just stared at him. "Do you have a home?" He asked again. " Do you not have a family?"
Behind him assistant Kwan and the driver exchanged confused looks and wondered what brought on this new development.
Impatient he asked " Can you talk?" This time she answered by covering her face with her hands like she was scared. She crouched down and whimpered softly. That's when he realised 'there must be something wrong with her head'. "Hungry?" He asked. " Are you hungry?" And bent down next to her.
She peeked from behind her fingers at him and he took that as confirmation.
"Get her something to eat,"he ordered, and assistant Kwan went right to it. He returned with a box of dumplings and presented it to his boss. Jason Wu presented the dumplings to the street girl who was taking intermittent peeks from behind her hands. However she didn't take it. He opened the box and brought it closer to her. Smelling the aroma of the dumplings she suddenly reached out quickly and grabbed a dumpling trying to bite into it but dropped it soon after when it burnt her fingers and mouth. She begun to weep waving her fingers to cool them and staring at the wasted the wasted dumpling. She looked so pitiful and it pulled at Jason's heartstrings. "Stop crying" he ordered softly, taking out his handkerchief from his suit pocket to wipe her tears. He took a dumpling and broke it while blowing on it to cool it down and brought it closer to her face. She stared at it intently holding his handkerchief between her fingers and opened her mouth while he fed her with a concerned frown on his face. Assistant Kwan almost keeled over with shock as he watched his boss feed the street girl dumplings, blowing on each one patiently while kneeling beside her. It even drew the attention of passerbys who stopped to stare at the very handsome young man in expensive clothing feeding a street girl. Assistant Kwan and the driver had to shoo them away and prevent them from taking photos for fear of seeing headlines about there still being hope for the world the next day, with his boss as the main character in the touching story. Once she was done eating, the girl had a huge smile across her face and her eyes were even brighter than before. Jason grabbed the handkerchief to wipe away the dumpling fillings smeared around her mouth. Staring intently at her face, he couldn't quite explain it but he was happy. Although she was dirty and very smelly because she probably hadn't bathed in a while and probably missed a bathroom for her other needs, and the fact that she might not be sane at all, he stared into at her eyes and decided then and there that he would take her home. He helped her up and asked "Will you come home with me?" She did not answer but stared at him with a silly smile. He took that as an answer and directed her towards his car to the dismay of assistant Kwan.
"What will you do with her sir?" Assistant Kwan asked nervously
"I'll take her home" answered Jason with a straight face.
