Chapter 5 - I'll keep her (3)

The female nurses were crowding around the door to get a peek of the rumoured male God that had arrived at the hospital, carrying his girl bridal style in his arms no less. Those that were at the forefront and could see him properly were not disappointed. A young man with dark hair and dark eyes then encompassed the stars, sat with his long legs stretched out beside the hospital bed with a small frown on his face. A frown that didn't marr his looks in any way but rather have the feel of a god frowning down at the sinful mortals but at the same time he gave an aloof feel that made one feel like he wasn't concerned about the actions of the insignificant people around him at all. He had a majestic air.

Jason was out of sorts after hearing from the doctor that the girl was suffering from an allergic reaction. He just couldn't figure out what she was allergic to. He tried to remember everything she ate that day, he'd make sure she wouldn't have it again.

" Mr. Wu, she's seems like she would be unaware even if she was cut. That doesn't make sense since her reaction must be quite painful. Even if she isn't in her right state of mind, she should be adverse to pain. It seems almost as though she's used to it."

"Thank you doctor, I'll make sure she won't be used to it anymore."

The doctor paused but didn't say anything more. He handed over the drugs he prescribed and gave directions for use for the next two days giving a go ahead for discharge of the patient since she seemed like she didn't need anything else.

Jason was getting ready to leave the hospital when his phone ring.

"Hello.."

"Bro. Are you on your way?" Marcus's voice was heard on the line.

"I can't make it tonight" Jason answered.

"Are you doing something better than work?" Marcus querried

Jason, "....."

"You'd better not be putting Hoes before your Bros." Marcus warned.

" I don't have any Hoes" Jason refuted sternly before hanging up the phone.

He picked up the girl who had begun to dose off and carried her out in his arms amid the murmurings of the nurses who had taken vantage points outside the ward to take more peeks as the doctor and his team escorted Jason or of the hospital.

By the time they got home, she was sleeping soundly when he picked her up and sent her upstairs following Nanny Jo who had gotten a room near his ready for her. He entered the room and placed her on the bed. The minute she touched the bed, she opened her eyes. It had just been too long since she slept on a proper bed. The comfort had become alien to her to the extent that it jolted her awake. She stared up at he as he leaned over her bed watching her face.

" Sleep alright? I'll see you in the morning " he said, patting her head and drawing the bed covers over her, tucking her in. He turned around and headed for the door. At that very moment the girl panicked and jumped out of the bed to follow him and Nanny Jo who had already made it to the door. "No! Don't lock me in!" She screamed . " Don't! Please don't! I can't take this anymore!" She knelt and begged at Jason's feet crying.

Jason was shocked by her screams "What's wrong? I'm not going to lock the door" he said trying to get her off the floor by pulling her up, but she wouldn't get up. He was surprised by the strength she used to counter his hold when she refused to get up.

"No no no! Don't keep me here anymore!" She continued to call out Nanny Jo just stood outside the door with her hands to her chest in alarm and disapproval. Jason decided that it probably wouldn't work to let her sleep alone, so he querried " Nanny, can stay over tonight?"

Nanny Jo questioned carefully " Jason, I can stay over tonight but what of every other night? She can't stay here can she? Maybe you should let her stay in a hospital?.."

"No way. I already decided. I'll keep her" He said sternly. Nanny Jo knew better than to question his decisions. Even as a teenager or when he was just a boy he didn't allow anyone else to influence his decisions, if he did then he wouldn't have been one step away from dying with his parents and wouldn't have seen their ship blow up. He had always been difficult, domineering and patient with only himself. Even his Grandfather could only partly influence him, what could she possibly do?

" Nanny, tomorrow you can ask the help to send another bed to my room, shell sleep with me."After careful thought he realised that she couldn't be sent to the servants quarters, and he didn't trust the servants who were all spies for his grandfather to spend the nights with her. He'd take care of her himself.

"Sir..." Jason just carried the girl and placed her back on the bed to tuck her in again, ignoring Nanny Jo who only called him 'Sir' when she was bewildered or angry. He didn't like her calling him that when she practically raised him and had no children of her own. He knew he was the closest family she had and despite being called aloof or cold blooded, he was a very loyal person who knew how to be grateful.

"Nanny, please spend the night with her." With his order, Nanny gave up and came to lie down next to the girl and petted her to calm her and assure her. " Go to sleep Jason, I'll take care of her"

"Thank you, Nanny. Good night."
