As he proceeded to drive away from the hotel, he saw various people running. Some were being consumed by the monsters and some who saw his car tried to get in and take it by smashing the window beside the passenger seat.
While he managed to stop those people from taking his car at the end it didn't matter he had to abandon it due to the vehicles blocking it. Anywhere he look he could only see chaos people were screaming and running blood can be seen splattered on everywhere, whether it is from those who were eaten or were stepped on by those who were running no one can tell anymore.
He ran and searched for either a motorcycle or a bicycle to use because he found out that those monsters seems to never get tired as they continued to run. The sole reason why Riku can still run without meeting those monsters is because of the head start he got thanks to his car.
At some point though he found an electric motorcycle and after a while he reached the base of a mountain. He decided to step off the motorcycle and pulled it inside the forest. Only when he felt that he was deep in the forest did he stop to take a break.
But the memories that were pushed aside started coming back as the tears didn't stop flowing from his eyes as he fell asleep.
"Why didn't you save us?"
"If you helped us we would still be alive!"
"You're a coward"
"Why are you still alive? YOU SHOULD'VE JUST DIED!!"
But as they were about to bite him, he woke up sweating all over the place, he held back his tears as he recognized the fact that he unconsciously blamed himself for their deaths. Just as he was wondering whether he could've changed anything he heard rustling in front of him and a man and a woman slowly came out. They reminded him of his parents and just like the couple in front of him he stared at them with fear evident in his eyes
