When the voice finished the announcement in his head, he felt the guilt and fear disappear, the regret of not saving his parents was no longer attacking his conscience. Before it felt like the regret was eating pieces of him, but now it was just there as if to remind him.
Riku, however, didn't mind that rather it strengthened his resolve to not waste the sacrifice of his parents. Keeping the memories and the questions deep inside his head. He went to the closest zombie.
The zombie this time seems to have noticed him as it turned around and approached him with its arms stretched towards him. Riku unsure whether he was just used to the sight of a zombie or if it was the skill wasn't afraid.
He bent his knees as low as possible and swung the bat towards the lower legs of the zombie, due to the sudden force and the fact the it was walking towards Riku, the zombie fell face first into the ground.
Riku, who was a little bit off balance stood up in a hurry and swung the bat towards the skull, just like last time after two hits it no longer moved. He was waiting for an announcement when he felt his right arm grabbed by someone, His instincts told him to look at it and try to push it off with his right arm, however the force was still there and so was the zombie grabbing him.
The shock from a zombie appearing didn't last long probably due to his passive skill, but the instant it was there made Riku step back and he tripped on the stretched arms of the zombie he killed, so he fell on his butt, but that didn't last long as the zombie fell towards him.
If this happened a day or two before Riku would've been happy, but today the sight of a woman with parts of her neck and cheeks chewed off was a scene from a nightmare. He used his left hand to stop it from biting him. His arms were longer than the woman so it couldn't scratch his face with its free hand, that was waving in an attempt to reach him was only a few inches away.
With his right hand gripped near the wrist, Riku couldn't swing the bat properly, moving his grip barely on top of the handle he used the end cap of the bat to hit the zombie's face. He'd be desperate by now if it wasn't for the passive skill.
Because his right arm was held by the zombie there wasn't that much momentum, but the continuous impact on the face of the zombie and followed by his attempt to push her to the side with his left hand paid off as almost fell to the side.
Riku was free from its weight so he could finally stand up, however the zombie was still holding on to his right arm. He took the bat with his left hand, although uncomfortable he swung the bat with his left hand.
Perhaps because it was his left hand it took 3 hits before it died.
Looking at the bent head of the zombie. He looked around him, instead of standing distracted, the only reason why he had a hard time is because he was distracted and he was careless enough to assume that the other zombies wouldn't notice him.
[ Congratulations! You are now level 2 and you have gained an additional 3 status points and 2 skill points]
Slightly disappointed that there were no additional announcements
He imagined his Status to see whether it'll appear as information in his head or pop up in front of him like a game.
To his convenience, it didn't appear in front of him otherwise he wouldn't be able to see it if a zombie was in front of him until it gets so close.

" I should probably use the skills and status points, because 1 it'll prove that it's real and 2 I'll be stronger if it's real." He decided, he was simply too cautious to assume that it's real based on the announcements. It could've been the guilt and his desperation to live that caused him to imagine it unconcsciouly.
He imagined [Skill section} and a list of various skills appeared in his head.
It seems like there are 5 categories of skills.
Physical Skills: Skill that uses the body movement and weapons
Magic Skills: Skills that use mana
Utility Skills: Skills that won't improve the fighting power, but can provide some assistance. Driving and computation skills were also included.
Passive Skills: Skills that can automatically improve various aspects of the above 3 skills.
Unique Skills
"That should be the simplest explanation" Riku thought as he looked at the skills. There were skills such as [Sword Techniques], [Blunt Weapon Techniques] and even [Black Magic]. He also saw his passive skill in the list. Riku couldn't provide an explanation on Unique skills, though, there were no similarities and they were all extremely different when it comes to their uses, all he could say was they could fall on either of the 4 previous skills but they didn't and that every Unique skill is extremely strong. Something else that was worth mentioning is that they're all max levelled.
There was also a skill, with an ability that is starting to be commonly used in novels, the [Devourer] the ability to steal other people skills except Unique skills, there was however a consequence if the skill is used, the personality of the devoured will be part of the user and there's a risk of losing the user's personality if he devours too much.
"Every attribute is important in its own way, the only factor I need to consider is what I need right now huh.. I'll distribute 3 status points to strength, 2 to agility and 1 to vitality" The moment he thought of how he wanted to distribute his status points he felt the changes throughout his body, he couldn't exactly tell what's different from before and after but he feels like his body's energy was recovering fast.
"It feels like before if I needed 30 minutes to rest after jogging, but now it feels like a few seconds was removed from that 30 minute"
Riku thought to himself.
It may not look like there's a lot of difference however that was only 1 point increased and every energy recovered matters in this world.
"There are only 2 skill points given every level up, I probably shouldn't level up any skills, but instead ask the system everything about skills."
The previous explanation of the System was more of a brief explanation enough to understand the System as a whole and its major parts but not the minor parts.
This was probably intentional so that a person won't be too dependent on the System. If Riku felt that it was easy to earn skill points he would've tried to learn it instead, but every skill points matter."I'll only learn the physical [Melee Weapon Techniques] and the Unique Skill [Appraisal]."
"I'll only learn the physical [Melee Weapon Techniques] and the Unique Skill [Appraisal]."
Riku didn't want to learn a specific weapon's technique because there's a chance of it breaking and not having a spare. The importance of [Appraisal] didn't need to be explained furthermore the only requirements of it is having an intelligence of at least 20.
[The Skill Section has been closed because the user has used the two skill points that the System has allowed to be used]
