Chapter 14 - Why information is power...

#### Flashback #######

That morning Han Marsha had arrived in the student's council room and found the handsome President sitting in his chair, waiting for her. When he saw her, he motioned her to sit and she did that. They knew each other very well, both were powerful figures among the student body. Only Han Marsha kept a low profile, she would rather sell her resources and help her stomach than use them to obtain power like Moncee did. Moncee was a regular client of hers.

Marsha: "What do you need me for, President?"

Moncee: "There is this Italian restaurant that recently opened, I'm sure you have heard of it."

Marsha smiled. She was waiting for something like this.

Moncee: "It so happens that a part-timer there is my old friend, he gets these coupons from time to time for his good performance, but what to do? He hates Italian. He would rather have Asian."

Marsha: "But I love Italian, so what do you want to know President?"

Moncee: "What's the Ghost club doing these days?"

More precisely he wanted to know what Jan Keiro was doing, but he kept it as the ghost club for some reason. Han Marsha was useful but also dangerous. She would gladly sell out one client to another in return for food like she was doing now.

Marsha: "Why is President Moncee interested in the ghost club?"

She asked this in a matter of fact way, with the eagerness of one collecting information. The more secret a piece of info was, the more she could sell it for. And any information on Moncee was definitely worth a lot of chicken wings or some other 'food-currency'.

"I'm the one asking the questions here." said Moncee coolly.

For the last one week, Moncee was irritated for various reasons. One major pain was the MFC which had formed in the time he was away in the capital for the science seminar. He knew MFC was his fan club. He should have been elated but rather he found it annoying; some of them stalked him wherever he went, they clicked his pictures without permission, they planted fan letters in his locker. He had to handle it all with a smile, but he was afraid he would lose it one day and show his real face to them.

But he also found it strange that Jan Keiro was nowhere to be seen, not within a mile's sight. Their last meeting was tense, even he had lost his composure by her boldness. She had asked him to get lost, asked him who was the most respected and loved President of the student's council to get lost, how dare she? He should be asking her to get lost! But it looked like she really had gotten lost, for there was no sign of her for the past one week. So he concluded that she was up to something and if Keiro was up to something it would be to no good, not to him.

So Moncee had decided to partake the services of Han Marsha who had always been a loyal informant.

Marsha: "The ghost club members are busy setting up a lab for Julis Roju, in the storage room attached to the club, apart from that there is nothing much."

Moncee did not say anything, he did not seem to be satisfied with it so Marsha added,

Marsha: "Oh, by the way, you must be glad that your enemy has disappeared."

Moncee: "You mean Jan Keiro? Where did she go?" Moncee tried to sound as if he was not interested.

Marsha: "Your MFC has given her a warning, to never show her face in front of you again. They had ganged up on her in the canteen."

Moncee: "I see, that's good then."

He said that but he was in all honesty annoyed. He wanted to settle things with Keiro himself and did not want anyone else to meddle. It was bothersome.

Marsha: "If the president is looking for ways to control the ghost club, I have some information that might be useful."

Moncee was immediately interested.

Moncee: "Come on, shoot!"

Marsha: "I heard that the old storage room of the ghost club was where our Moldi high ancestors dumped their banned goods, you know ...R18 stuff...The club members are busy getting it out to clean up the room to set up the lab..."

Moncee: "So today is a fine day to start our annual inspection of club rooms."

Moncee got up from his seat and stretched his arms. There was a look of playful satisfaction on his face. He promised Marsha that he would ask his Italian-restaurant friend to save his coupons for her and Marsha left him, very satisfied.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's how Moncee showed up in the Ghost-club room for the sudden inspection and Keiro stared at him in wonder. How could he always show up at these most vulnerable moments?

Keiro tried to keep her composure. She thought she should at least warn her friends inside that the monster had shown up.

Keiro: "WHY IT'S PRESIDENT MONCEE!" she greeted him as loudly as possible. Shimlee and the others inside the ghost club heard it and gasped. What was the President doing here?

Keiro: "YOU WANT TO INSPECT THE CLUB EH?" she asked Moncee loud enough for the others to hear. Shimlee and Rusa looked at each other with horror. The magazines and pen drives with God only knew what was inside, lay on their club room floor waiting to be discovered. Only Roju did not seem to be aware of the situation and was busy inside the storage room setting up his lab stuff. Shimlee and Rusa got on their knees and started picking the cursed goods back up, but they really did not know where to dump them, should they throw it out of the window?

Moncee: "Yeah I wanna inspect, so move aside." he inched closer and Keiro stopped him.

Keiro: "Wait a bit President,.." she said, "Let's talk a little, I have umm..some things to say, I think we have some misunderstandings to clear up..."

Moncee: "Then let's talk inside the club room." he tried to push his way in but was again stopped by Keiro who had closed the door and stretched her arms to cover the front, then she waved her arms up and down as if she was exercising.

Keiro: "Long time since I last exercised, how about you?" she said keeping up her swings and stretches and Moncee had a hard time keeping a straight face. His fellow Student's-council members looked at each other puzzled.

Then suddenly, the club room door opened from behind and to everybody's surprise Berthy came out scratching his neck. Keiro gaped. Forget seeing him outside the club room, Keiro had never really seen him in a standing position... But now as Berthy stood there, he looked as tall as Moncee and even a little intimidating.

Berthy: "What's going on?" he asked looking straight at Moncee.
