I hold a wooden sword in front of me and he nods. Once we both moved into our stances, I charged. I swords collide, and I jump away. After five minutes, we end back at square one with our swords clashing.
He opens his mouth, "Astraea…"
I let my guard down by accident from familiarity… and I fall and fall…
Kyle catches me just in time, and I search in his eyes for the color red and the care that King gave me. My vision blurs. I miss you, King. Where are you?
Kyle pulls me up and gives me a handkerchief. I pull away and wipe my eyes.
Without turning, I ask, "Do you know anyone named King?"
He looks away and smiles. It's a beautiful smile I'll never forget. I'll never be able to smile that pure smile ever in my life. After all the hate and torture I went through.
"Is he doing all right?"
Kyle holds my hand and stares right into my eyes. My eyes widen. So he is King! I give him a big hug.
"I-i'm so glad!"
Suddenly we hear someone clear their throat. I look up to see the head aristocrat. I cool myself down before my face reddens.
"A-er your majesty, are you sick?"
I put my stone face on, "You did not hear into the private conversation, did you?"
"No, not at all. I just got here, your majesty."
I don't find a hint of lying and let it go.
"So um er your majesty, would you like your guard replaced. I received your complaint."
"Ki- Kyle will do for now," I put sternly.
I leave quickly, with nothing to say to him.
Once it was just King and I, he takes off his contacts and looks over at me. I can feel the warmth from his fiery crimson eyes. I run and hug him.
"I missed you so much!" I whisper scream in his ear.
Tears stream down my face as he hugs me closely too.
"I missed you too,"his soft voice made my past years of pain and hard work feel like a dream.
So this is how it feels like to be in love, huh… It's quite powerful, but there's no way King would work for them.
"Astraea, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."
"It's fine because I know now."
The next few days were pleasant, I stayed in the palace for most of the time, spending my time with King. We read books, spar, fool around, and whatnot. The palace people look at me as if I've gone crazy. Even the aristocrats see and I don't care at all. After all, I'm with my beloved King!
We walk around in the gardens all day, talking and whatnot. I had King take off his lenses and allow him his own freedom. However, we were not aware of what was lurking in the shadows, spying on us.
"What're you gonna do about Trisha and the rest?"
I falter and look on the ground, "I don't know…"
"Why don't you try to make up with them?"
"... They probably won't accept. Who would…"
I sip a cup of tea and so does King.
"What about you, King? Will you tell Justin and Ryan about this? You haven't seen them for days."
He doesn't respond.
Suddenly, a group of guards barge into the room. King and I immediately stand up.
"What are you guys doing?" I ask coldly.
I see them smirk.
"Kill them! Get rid of these red eye monsters!"
They charge at us. Hmph! Such weak attacks won't work!
I dodge and attack. Huh? Where's my strength? I feel as I become more tired. The strength is seeping out of me!
I look around and spot King also having a hard problem. Then I see the maid who served the tea. She sneered at me. Damn you!
I hurriedly pull King along with me and try to escape. We make it to the courtyard and there are even more guards waiting! We jump from tree to tree, still holding hands. Suddenly, an arrow hits my back. I feel myself fall.
