Chapter 58 - Hear You Out

"I asked and then what? You hear all these grievances and what do you do then?" Calder asked coldly. Lady Britille's face turn cold as she locked her gaze with Calder. "Nothing." Lady Britille whispered. Calder flinched. Lady Britille looked somewhat unnerving as a slit like smile spread across her face. "I ask for nothing in return. Is that wrong?" She said in a low and demon like voice.

Calder took a step back as he looked at the girl in front of him. "Calder!" Esai shouted as he turned the corner. Calder looked behind Lady Britille and felt a wave of relief wash over him. Suddenly he felt a deadly aura, he looked back at Lady Britille and saw that she was just standing there with a smiling face. Her aura was peaceful and bright, he didn't know where the murderous intent went. "Don't ignore me next time, okay?" She said as she slightly tilted her head.

Calder gulped. He knew that something was wrong with this girl, other then being a closet dominatrix but this, this was something else. "Calder are you alright?" Esai asked as he grabbed his brother's arm and pulled him closer. Calder nodded his head yes. "Are you sure? You're not in any pain or anything right?" Esai said in a panicked voice. His eyes scanned him up and down as he tried to find the exact problem. Calder hid his bandaged hand behind his back and smiled.

"Ya, ya, I was just too embarrassed to face Nana Gi. I wanted her to teach me and, well I wanted to ask her to give a baking class instead and then I kinda chickened out. That's all." Calder replied. "Nana Gi? You got Nana Gi to give a baking class?!" Esai asked in a loud surprised voice. "Mmmh." Calder replied as he nodded his head. "Well, do you want me to go with you to ask?" Esai asked as he let go of Calder.

"But who's gonna want to join? I mean I will be there and might scare some people away." Calder said bashfully. "What?" Esai asked in surprise. "It's stupid. I think I'll just let her go home." Calder replied. "Oh, if it's not too much trouble can I offer my assistance?" Lady Britille chimed in with a super sweet voice.

Calder paled just as Esai turned to look at Lady Britille. "How?" Esai asked. "It's not necessary." Calder said in a panicked voice. "I bet if a crowd of people ask Nana Gi she will be overwhelmed with joy and want to do a class." Lady Britille said. "You think you can call a crowd here in just a small amount of time?" Esai questioned with a deadly glare but Lady Britille didn't flinch.

"Why yes!" Lady Britille answered energetically. Esai stared at Lady Britille with even more doubt. "Your Majesty if I may?" Veronica said as she stepped forward. Esai looked at the woman and nodded. "Lady Britille has a very favourable reputation among the people, regardless of class and social standing she can draw crowds. I can guarantee she can call as many people you ask her too." Veronica continued as she gave Esai a respective courtesy.

"Is this true?" Esai asked Lady Britille. "Well, I don't know if that's true but I can make friends with pretty much anyone. I don't look at people based on their title but rather as a regular person." Lady Britille said with a small blush that kissed the tops of her cheeks.

Calder's eyes widened, a thought crept into his head as he looked at the fragile looking woman. "A shoulder..." He whispered. Calder didn't think that anyone heard him but at that moment Lady Britille brought up her gaze, he saw her eyes flash with rage.

Calder could feel something build up inside him, he wanted to rip off her face right then and there when suddenly Rutley's voice rang in his head. "Lady Syria will be the one hurt..." Calder pursed his lips and gave Lady Britille an icy glare. "Get Syria to join the group and I will be your baking partner." He said causing Lady Britille's face to light up.

"I definitely can!" She replied as she clapped her hands together in joy. "How many do you need in the class?" Esai asked as he looked between Lady Britille and Calder. "16 total, so 13 more people." Calder replied. "13? Not 14?" Esai asked. "You're not coming?" Calder asked as his face turned gentle and pitiful like, just like a disappointed puppy.

In an instant Esai covered his mouth and started to blush a deep red. He nodded his head yes, enthusiastically but then froze. He dropped his hand and shot Lady Britille a deadly glare. He clenched his jaw and curled his hands into fist. He then turned to Calder and determination burned behind his eyes. "Lady Syria won't show up. So I will be your partner." Esai announced.

"W-w-wait! I haven't even asked Lady Syria yet! Please give me a chance!" Lady Britille protested. Calder's jaw dropped and Esai's aura started to turn dark. "Are you doubting the words of your King?" Esai asked in a threatening tone.

"N-n-n-no, your Majesty!" Lady Britille shouted as she lowered her head. "Esai, you shouldn't put words into people's mouths. I still want Syria to be given the option to come." Calder said cautiously as he stretched out his and and laid it over Esai's shoulder. Esai's aura completely calmed down and a wide grin spread across his face.

"Well if you really want her to come there is no harm in asking her but if she doesn't show up, I still get to be your partner right?" Esai asked in a bashful manner. "Of course! I would love to make something with my big brother." Calder replied happily. Esai instantly started to glow. Calder hadn't seen him that happy in a long time. Easi then turned to Lady Britille and flashed her an angelic smile. "Why are you still here? Shouldn't you get going?" He asked sweetly.

Lady Britille blushed to the base of her neck as she gave a complicated look. "We will be on our way then." Veronica said with a deep curtsy before she collected Lady Britille and walked away. "Well I shouldn't delay my talk with Nana Gi." Calder said as he turned around. "Wait!" Lady Britille shouted as she rushed back. "Wait! You didn't tell me when the class will start!"
