Chapter 38 - Lost Past

The Inn wasn't too big but it accommodated them just fine. After being seated they ordered food for everyone and Kirin began to tell them everything she went through and saw. At this point not a sound could be heard from the group aside from the tales of Kirin and her transformation along with her and Jun's status as royalty that rivals even that of Ji. What shocked everyone even more was a revelation from Ze. he suddenly recalled the scene when they first encountered Ji. Sure he knew who Ji was but he had no clue about Kirin and Jun at that time but Ji seemed to have known and even lowered himself to them.

"Your highness, you knew? But how is that possible when this information has been lost to time ever since they had arrived; the clan has hidden this status of the royal family." The look of disbelief riddled across Ze's face at this moment was unfathomable as he questioned the crown prince.

Scratching the back of his head, Ji revealed a very guilty smile on his handsome face at this moment. "Well to be honest I didn't have all of the details… see the thing is there are two others of your race in the upper realm and they distinctly sent me down here for you. See up there the dragon clan may be the most powerful but the one with the highest status are those two people who council our clan. They said that you were royalty beyond the status of anything in this world, so that was why when I met you I did not appear to you as the crown prince but as your servant. Which my lady still holds to this day and will never change."

Shock at the fact that they were not alone ran through Kirin and Jun's minds, they stared at each other as a small smile slowly appeared on their faces as joy ran throughout their whole body. 'We aren't alone? So who are they and why did they leave us?' Kirin pondered for a moment until Jun tapped her shoulder to come out of her thoughts to continue with the briefing while they ate.

A loud crash suddenly sounded in the other section of the restaurant that was located under the Inn's room section and everyone looked in that direction. However by the time they turned to look a streak of a figure flashed out of the door before anyone could get a good glimpse of who it was. Shaking off that disturbance Kirin continued.

"Can you describe mom to me? Maybe… Maybe it will open up the memories I have lost…"

Nodding to her brother she described both of their parents to him with as much detail as possible including how they acted and reacted. Jun looked pale as he closed his eyes and listened to her voice trying to picture their figures in his mind. The only problem is the more he thought the more pain exploded inside his head which was what had caused his complexion so pale so terribly but he didn't give up this time. He fought through it, he almost passed out when Ao Qing ran up and settled in his arms, closing her eyes. She directed her energy into his body to help ease the process.

There's something to say when a tiny feathery fluff is sitting in the arms of a big burly man with it's huge eyes closed with the most serious expression on its face as if the thing it is concentrating on is of the utmost importance to the tiny thing.

All of a sudden Jun fell backward and lost consciousness effectively chucking the little bird into the air and Ao Qing landing on the ground in the most undignified manner. Ignoring the tiny wails from Ao Qing everyone rushed forward to check on Jun as he barely seemed alive at this moment.

Three days have passed since Jun went into a coma, Kirin has not left his side once and continuously sent mental energy to attempt to wake him up. During these three day the rest had left just outside of the town to train and strengthen themselves while waiting for Jun to wake up again.

Normally they wouldn't have left them alone at this critical time but Kirin insisted saying that the battle that is drawing near is far too important and will test their limits if they don't prepare. So in reality they had no choice the Queen had spoken and as they are her loyal vassals and friends they dared not to refute her Varick would go to her morning, noon, and night to bring her food and to check up on her to make sure she is getting rest in between treatments.

"Get some rest Kirin you have been at this for three days! It will do no good if you enter a comatose state again like your brother! … Please… I will watch over him but please go get some rest I… I am worried about you…"

She simply smiled at him then after taking one last look at her brother she finally stood up to walk to her room. At this point her legs had lost their strength and she began to fall. Varick swiftly lunged forward and caught her in his arms, gently scooping her up he carried her to her room and gently laid her onto her bed while covering her body and leaving back to Jun's room to keep watch.

"Sigh, Your sister is going to exhaust herself if you don't wake up soon Jun. What are we supposed to do then? Huh? We can't protect her if she can't even defend herself… what happened to you?" Sighing again he stood watch and stared out of the window for a moment deep into his own thoughts.

A shadow flitted within the Inn bypassing the guards and headed up the stairs, while listening around the hall it slipped within a room nearby and hid itself there.
