While things seemed as if they had calmed, in reality they had not. The forces behind them, shadowing them, and searching desperately for her grew ever closer to their location. Because of this seemingly quiet time they had been experiencing they had grown complacent to feeling out for those forces. Although in the higher realm they were being monitored closely, those in that realm could not intervene. Due to this fact what will happen will have an impact far greater than anything before.
Though being comforted by Varick, Kirin's mind was spiraling into a deep abyss at this moment. Unbeknownst to anyone around her what she was experiencing was as if being drowned and able to see the way out with no way to get there.
Swirling clouds enveloped around her, she could see streaks of black rushing towards her. She tried to move but she was rooted to her spot. She tried to scream but no sound would exit her mouth. They came closer and closer to her, once they reached her they began to slowly climb up her body while they wrapped every inch of her slowly. Further and further they climbed up her body, she tried to struggle free but she was pinned.
"Kirin! Come back to me Kirin!"
"Wake up you can't leave me like this!"
'Sob'
She could hear all of this but could not see the source, though the voice was familiar. All she could see was the black vine like things continue to crawl up her body entertaining themselves around her. They squeezed and tangled themselves with every passing minute. She could hear the voice even louder now ringing in her ears and within her soul.
Flashes of pictures started to whiz by her eyes but she could not see them clearly. They were nothing but a blur and every time she attempted to focus on them she would get a pain in her mind that sent electric shocks throughout her body.
The pain and the sounds were becoming even more unbearable as she still tried to cry out to the voice to help her. When she saw a figure begin to move closer towards her. She closed her eyes for a moment to try to make sense of the voice when the figure touched her cheek.
"Your body will be mine soon so forget about him, he can not help you anymore." The figure smirked for a moment then spoke again. "Now it is my turn to live in this world, you have been here long enough and are no longer needed. You truly have cultivated this body very well. As for the boy… well I will get rid of him soon and will rule over this world alone. Heh and they thought you were their savior all this while! What a joke…" Bringing the hand down to caress the rest of her body which made Kirin shiver she looked into those eyes staring at her and realized that person looked like her!
"No you can't…"
Kirin struggled even more the instant she heard that Varick would be killed… she would never let it happen. All of a sudden there was a light beginning to emanate from her body and the figure began to panic.
"No you can't resist this! This is now my time you can not get rid of me!!!"
"You will NEVER come to this world and hurt those I love, I will never let it happen!"
The light became brighter and the vines began to shrink back and leave her. As the light grew the more she could move her body. The figure began to fade as the vines shrank in size. The light was now so blinding that one could not even dream to glance at the brilliance.
"Ahhhhh…"
The figure screamed it's last scream and disappeared and the vines were gone entirely. She blinked for a moment and all of her memories began to flood into her mind again. At that moment a new memory began to surface that she had no recollection of before.
Kirin could hear Varick crying her name and felt him shaking her while within his embrace. She blinked her eyes open slowly and looked up at him. A small smile began to form on her face as she watched him cry uncontrollably for her to wake up.
"I am here Varick please stop crying my clothes are wet now."
The gentle hiding from her shocked him that he choked for a moment while he sharply whipped his head down to stare at her face as if he was trying to be sure it wasn't a dream that she had spoken to him as it was so soft.
He cradled her even tighter and snuggled his face into the crook of her neck whispering into her ears.
"Don't do that to me again I can't live without you here, where did you go? It has been a week since you fell into a coma Kirin without a reason for it."
"Even your brother had no answers for this however he did say something odd during this time." Xiezhi was gazing at her with an odd expression but continued speaking to her in order to gain some form of a clue from her.
"Do you remember anything? He said that there was another you but that it was locked up somewhere and was forcing you to allow it out so that you would die. So what is going on? Do you have any idea what he was talking about? He mentioned that it was a bloodline secret that has been held in check for over three thousand years now. Why would this happen all of a sudden?"
As he finished Kirin was even more confused, she was never told about her heritage or family line how the heck was she supposed to know? This was too much for her at this moment so she just tilted her head into Varick's embrace and slowly shook her head in exasperation at Xiezhi.
"I don't know… I did see someone that threatened to kill Varick and rule this world but… I don't know who it was or if it was true all I knew was that I couldn't let this happen and then a bright light began to emanate from my body destroying that person and the vines that held me down. Then I woke up here."
