Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Blivet's Trial 1

A large number of beasts had arrived just in time for Blivet to complete his preparations.

In starcraft, the zergs in that world are ruthless and vicious, killing machines that will not stop until they have consumed the enemy.

Here in this world, they are like a blank sheet of paper.

They watch and learn from everyone and everything.

They adapt as quickly as turning over a hand.

The most fearsome ability of all is to add the genes of their prey to strengthen themselves.

Even if it is a drop of blood taken from the enemy, they will grow stronger the more they fight, the more they devour.

Since Blivet is a freshly promoted knight of the queen despite being 'boosted' by her power and title, his foundation was still unstable.

The word foundation was part of the information he assimilated from some of the dead cultivators they hunted, giving him a better understanding of this world.

But time is not on their side at the moment the actions of the queen had attracted the lesser leaders of monsters that were nearby.

With hundreds of weaker monsters behind them.

Her physique has set a good future, but also a constant struggle.

Blivet prepared himself for what could be either a blood bath or a gruesome end!

As the dust cloud from afar drew closer, there was only one thought that came to Blivet's mind as his body grew larger than earlier and began to change.

"Will I get stronger? Or will I perish under the horde of beasts?"

The devouring one's carapace shook from excitement.

His zergling traits reacted with his thoughts and emotions of the moment.

The yearning for the flesh and blood of his foes!

Blivet exuded his scent to the surroundings before he charged toward the horde, letting them have a look at him as he, too, had a strange allure for these beasts.

He gave them a threatening hiss to openly provoke the pride of the stronger ones since the dignity of being a lord was a big deal to them, at least according to the memories of the first wolf he consumed, as most of its traits were integrated into him.

Including the ironclad loyalty they had for their kin, which in turn bolstered the loyalty he had for the swarm and the queen to an even higher level than the others.

Their numbers were in the few thousand that had arrived, and more were coming.

Upon seeing the monster, They all released loud howls, screeches, and other kinds of noises as they charged towards the strange creature that quickly turned and started running through the dense bushes that soon got flattened under them.

Some of the flyers managed to get close and tried their luck at getting at least a piece of him.

But when they were close enough, the blade-like protrusions on Blivet's back tore through any of them that got in range, blood and gore splashed around covering him before he released a challenging howl while some of the genes were being absorbed by him.

The effects became apparent as the protrusions on his back morphed as Blivet maintained a certain distance to keep them on his tail!

The sight and scent of blood and gore only increased the allure of the one in front of them.

As if adding an enhancing seasoning to a steaming delicacy.

The beast's charged and attacked in many ways.

From innate abilities to using the environment as one of the bear-like creatures grabbed a rock and threw it, hoping to kill this delicious-smelling prize.

Only to miss every time before hindering themselves.

To ensure that they'd feel like there was a chance of catching blivet.

He would sometimes purposely get dangerously close, then wound some of the lucky ones in 'desperation' while running!

They did not even realize the strange movement and actions of the creature they chased nor the disappearing carcasses that they passed by.

Instinct from their very bloodline, it urged them to chase after him, sensing that their strength would increase should they succeed in eating even a portion of the prey in front.

As for the devouring one, he was stalling for time not for himself, not for the ambush, but providing breathing time for the swarm.

He may be mighty, but Blivet understood with his instincts there were limits to it: his stamina must last, his armor must persist, and his claws and fangs must tear through.

The very life of HIS BELOVED QUEEN MUST BE PROTECTED!!!

Their numbers may have increased a bit during the chase of cat and mouse.

But the chase is about to stop due to some stronger ones joining in as some of the attacks managed to hit Blivet, slowing him down and bring him near the strange limit this world placed on its inhabitants.

They forced him to deliver the beasts to the trap much sooner than planned.

Then, an attack from a large hawk chipped off some of the armor on his back, sending him crashing through a few trees, giving the other chasers a chance to get close enough to attack.

As Blivet was about to be reached, he showed a hungry smirk before howling out loud wildly, calling to his brethren that burrowed under him and challenging these monsters to a fight to the death.

His way of using them was not through numbers, but by strength as the zerglings that emerged from the ground covered his body like armor before swinging the now enlarged foreleg covered in zerglings like a sword sidewards cleaving deep into the attacking monsters.
