previously on swarming the gods
Ling wu was now slightly fearful as he now realized something the person he attacked wasn't human but, in fact, a monster!
What was even scarier was when Blivet finished that gesture hundreds of eyes opened up from the ground, looking at him with ferocious gleam as if the area came to life and wanted to devour him.
-----
There is one trait that a zerg will never forget, think of it as like an addiction, one that will never be cured, that is the urge to devour to reach their perfection.
Since Blivet was stronger now, he gradually released some of the restraints he had on his mind.
He was currently the alpha of the group.
His thoughts were contagious as his carapace began rattling reacting to his craving, As this urge spread to the other zerglings, their carapace too began rattling as if competing with one another the noise they made grew louder and louder until finally, the sneakier ones used the nearby trees to jump as the foolish humans that stayed close to the trees suffered under their sudden attack!
They are of one mind, but they are separate minds at the same time.
Capable of coming up with strategies that complemented their actions and could give whoever they attack a swift end!
There were slightly luckier ones that managed to dodge the attack only to fall into the hundreds of frenzied maws in the ground flesh and blood began to scatter under their relentless ways to devour the prey!
As for the others that managed to fully dodge the attack and stay on the flying sword, they were unable to avoid the second strike as the urge to devour these cultivators made them even more coordinated.
Many of ling wu's men were killed, but this mattered little to him as he made his sword ascend subtly.
However, a baleful red pitchfork stopped him as it came flying at him.
He barely managed to dodge the attack.
He was proud of himself about to taunt the monster before getting the hell out of there, But sadly for him.
He didn't notice the passenger that rode the pitchfork from beneath.
It was one of the smaller zerglings that had a pair of leather wings than it had gained from consuming a large blood bat from the horde of monsters gaining a strain that passed to other zerglings increasing their versatile means of attack!
This little bugger landed on his back, nearly causing him to fall off but managed to stay on.
Soon he will wish that he had fallen off instead.
The sharp claws of the zergling dug deep into the man's back and ribs making a bloody mess of it then it took a bite out of his shoulder allowing the man to feel what it's like to have numerous jagged teeth dig into his flesh!
This made his blood spray out even more dyeing the passenger on his back even redder than before.
He let out a pained scream!
It was, even more, higher pitched than a woman's wail!
this had caused him to lose his balance and fall to the ground landing on his side knocking the wind out of him while the zergling glided down ready to attack him again!
Ling wu has never been harmed since childhood.
The constant pampering he received made him forget how easy it was for someone to take his life.
Other cultivators stay clear of him due to his sect and grandfather.
Even old beasts feared the wrath of his grandfather.
He got careless thanks to this, as well as due to how often his enemies would let him go, no matter what atrocities he did.
But since when did Zergs care for humans think or those that weren't part of their hive?
Especially these ones?
They were willing to give this world to their beloved queen even if she would be the only one left, as long as she survives and lives as she pleases they didn't care what would happen to them.
Blivet may love a good fight but he will use anything at his disposal for her even his own life.
cheap trick? many against one? using a borrowed knife?
sorry, but he will resort to that in less than a heartbeat.
worldly pleasures, such as sniffing her sce- *ahem* are only after he is absolutely sure his queen will be out of harm's way meaning until everything that can be a threat to her well-being had been consumed by her swarm!
The gliding zerg landed on the injured man that was trying to crawl away causing a rather high-pitched shriek!
now the man that is on the ground trying to get a mutated zergling off of him will soon become nourishment for his queen.
But since he was considered 'important' to humans due to how the others followed his orders maybe he knew some information that the hive could use.
As if hearing this 'lovely' idea, numerous claws came from out from under the struggling cultivator that grabbed him, then pulled him to the ground, holding Ling wu in place.
the human-like zerg walked towards the man while scanning the area he wanted to make sure to leave no survivors, as well as no information about them, would slip out.
The other survivors squealed like pigs as the other zerg pulled them into the ground consuming them, creating nauseating sounds of flesh and bone being torn, leaving nothing not even a drop of blood, as the alpha commanded them to erase any traces of the humans with a wave of its clawed hand.
Upon arriving at the last survivor that was the leader of this group, this sorry excuse of a man, soiled himself while tears and snot covered his face, the zergling, that harmed him pretty badly, was breathing dangerously close to his neck intensifying his fear and the low growl from it didn't help either, to prevent him from being any noisier Blivet had one of the zergs get some cloth from one of the dead to gag the man.
Ling wu had gotten to see the looks of the monster he had provoked he wanted to speak to somehow preserve his life, not that they would listen, their location has been jeopardized thus there will be no witnesses.
Ling wu feared for his life, more zerglings began growling behind him near his neck didn't help with the situation to calm himself, the eyes on the monster in front of him showed no emotions, then again not that he'd be able to even understand what kind of face blivet was making since it now looked anything but human, being so up close.
Blivet crouched in front of the man, before playfully grabbing a handful of hair making the said man stiffen from the sudden action also due to the sharp claws that cut into his scalp as some of his blood trickled down his face, some into his left eye and the side of his head.
this alone showed that he will kill him just...not...yet...!
Blivet used telepathy to talk to the man in a cold beastly voice that made the man shiver from the bloodlust it was giving.
"I will ask you a series of questions, should you lie we will take a piece of you like so."
*Chomp*
one of the zerglings chomped off the man's pinky.
Ling wu let out a muffled groan while shivering from the pain as he cried even more than before while practically blinking as his eyes blurred from the tears and blood.
the voice in his head asked.
"Are we clear?"
the zergling that ripped his finger off presented it to blivet who happened to need a snack so put it in his mouth like a breadstick slowly eating it letting him hear the crunchiness of his own finger!
This sight and sound reinforced the idea that they really didn't give a fuck about him.
He nodded frantically, as his words were muffled as he bit into the cloth, eager to answer the questions to somehow preserve his life even if it was a slim chance.
Blivet attempted to smile with the face of a zerg satisfied with the eagerness he had shown patting the poor bastard on the side of his face but this just scared the man even more as a stench began to brew from the brown stain.
Blivet spoke ever so slowly as if to savor the fear the man was practically drowning in!
"I want you to nod your head once for no, twice for yes, thrice for when you don't know alright?"
as if enjoying his reaction, Blivet slid his claw on the side of Ling wu's face that he had patted earlier causing him to bleed before he nodded twice as his blood dripped down to his chin then to the ground only for a hungry zergling's head to pop out from under him gobbling that drop in a horrifying manner scaring the man nearly over the edge!
As the cultivator could already feel them trying so hard not to eat him right now as some of them were lightly poking his limbs letting more of his blood seep into his already stained robes!
The zerglings craved for his very essence but Blivet kept them in check especially after collecting some information from the brains of this man's dead subordinates.
Judging from the movement ling could feel below there was a good number hidden causing him to despair as it'll be hard to escape should they finally end him.
All while the devouring one gathered as much information as he could.
The first thing he asked was if there were more of his people nearby which made him let out a sigh of relief.
The second one was why were they here?
Blivet was buying as much time as he could this was why he didn't leave the area, he was also releasing as much aura and qi as he could, all to ensure his majesty's safety.
Making himself a beacon to attract any enemies nearby as long as they are away from the rest of the Swarm.
The jade token of this human worked well as a powerful lure for more enemies to his location even better than his actions!
which made quite the spectacle worth it since it went according to plan, as the first group to arrive was women on beasts and flying swords had arrived, as well as a group of men that looked similar to those that were converted into zergs.
the next one was another group of people that bore the logo of a sky hawk.
then lastly a man that floated in the sky without using anything, he, alone, released a roar full of anger, and anxiousness.
"damned demon! release my grandchild!!"
all while releasing a pressure similar to what ling wu did, however, the pressure that this man released was maybe 100X stronger maybe more, however, blivet stayed close to his hostage to ensure to stall as much as he could while the zerglings hid waiting for a chance to strike.
With a Clank of his mandibles, Blivet grabbed his victim by the neck in a brutal manner before lifting him up then with a smirk he asked in a teasing tone to rattle the man even more.
"why don't you make me?"
