As Thomas and Lily showed the man the way to the Rolling Ship Inn he asked Thomas if he knew any other types of magic. Thomas looked at him as he said "I can pretty much use most of the basic magic in this book." The man said, "I see and by the way, I do believe that none of us have introduced ourselves yet." Thomas pointed to Lily as he said "She's Lily and I'm Thomas, Nice to meet you." The man said, "Nice to meet you two and I am Fredrick a beginner wizard though you can just call me Fred." Thomas looked at him as he said "Well then Fred have you gone on any adventures yet?" Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "No I plan to set out as soon as I can find a place to stay and somewhere that has a board of posted jobs that require adventures." As they all arrived at the Rolling ship Inn Jason was there to greet them all as he held Thomas's head down as he said "I apologize for any trouble he may have caused you."
Thomas took Jason's hand off his head and yelled "Why is it I'm the first one you blame?" Jason looked at him as he said "It's because you disappeared all morning." Thomas looked at him as he said "I left you a note." Jason looked at him as he held the piece of paper Thomas had left. Thomas looked down at the book and said "Right none of you can read that." Thomas looked around as he whispered to Jason "Who are all of these people." Jason looked at Thomas and then at the crowd as he said "These people are all adventures waiting for the new job posts to come in so they can complete them." Thomas looked around as he asked, "What are you talking about?" Jason pointed to a wall as he said "Those are what people call quests and by doing them they can earn things such as items or money like copper and silver." Thomas looked at the board as he asked "Can anyone do those?"
Fredrick looked at Thomas as he asked "Do you not know?" Thomas looked at him as he said "I just learned how to speak Tennekhi a while ago so I wouldn't count on me knowing too much about a lot of things." Fredrick looked at Jason as he said "Allow me to explain it to him." Jason looked at Fredrick as he said "Thank you for taking the time to explain it to him now if you excuse me I have an Inn to run." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he began to explain the process of becoming an adventurer. Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "You'd have to go to the capital of any city and register there as an adventurer and after that, you'd be able to do quests." Thomas looked at Lily as he asked "Can you show me where the capital is?" Lily looked at him and Fredrick as she said "It's two buildings up from here." Thomas looked at her as he said "Great I'll be back shortly."
Thomas looked around as he saw a large building two away from the Rolling Ship Inn as he said "That has to be it." Thomas ran up to the building as he looked at the sign and said "Houses don't have signs so this place has to be it." As he was about to enter the seen two people walk out as they said "So your finally an adventure that's great!" Thomas looked back at the door as he entered and said "Hello anyone here?" Once he was in the building he looked around as he walked up to a lady behind a desk. She looked at him as she said "Are you here for the adventure registration?" Thomas looked at her as he said "I sure am." She looked at him as she said "Write your name and age here in any language and we'll have it translated with the newest and latest magical technology." Thomas took a quill with ink on it and signed the paper at the desk as she looked at the paper she said "What kind of writing is this?"
Thomas rubbed his head as he said "I don't know what it's called." The lady stood up and turned around as she put the paper into a machine as she looked at the paper she said "Your right, apparently, they were real words you wrote." The lady looked at him as she said "So your name is Thomas and your age is unknown?" The lady looked at him as she said "Age doesn't matter if you're becoming an adventurer so writing unknown is allowed for clients who would rather be more secretive." She looked down at the paper as she stamped it and shook his hand as she said "You're now a full-fledged adventurer we hope to see you again." Thomas walked out as he said, "So then theirs no proof needed that I'm an adventurer?" Thomas began to walk back to the Rolling Ship Inn as he looked back at the building and said "So that's the capital why doesn't it feel like a special building if it's so important?"
As Thomas entered the Rolling Ship Inn Fredrick looked at him as he asked "So how did it go?" Thomas looked at him with a smirk as he said "Well Fred I'm now an adventurer." Fred smiled as he said, "That's great news." Lily began to smile as she cheered saying "We're gonna go on an adventure." Thomas looked at her as he asked "Is your father even gonna allow that?" Lily smiled as she said, "Only one way to find out." Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Care to go on an adventure with me?" Thomas looked at him and asked "What kind of adventure." Fredrick looked at the quest board as he pointed to one and said "How about this one." Thomas looked at it as he said "I can't read that language." Fredrick looked at the quest as he said "It's a kill quest to hunt as many wild boars as possible and each one is worth two coppers."
Thomas looked at him as he asked "Why do they want us to slay boars?" Fredrick pointed to the bottom of the paper as he said "Apparently some stores need to be restocked on meat." Thomas looked over to see Lily and Jason standing there as Jason asked "Is it all right if Lily joins you guys on this?" Thomas looked at Fredrick as he said "Your call." Fredrick looked at Lily as he said "Of course you can come but first we should help you perfect that water bolt of yours first." Jason stepped in as he asked, "What are you guys talking about water bolts?" Thomas held up a book as he said "This book taught me and Lily some simple magic." Lily looked at her father as she said "I haven't been able to fire a water bolt yet but once I do I'll be sure to show you!" Jason looked at Thomas and then the book in his hand as Thomas said "Don't be mad she just asked me to teach her and I did." Jason looked at Thomas as he said "I'm not mad, actually it's a good thing for people to know some magic."
Thomas looked at Jason as he said "If that's the case and your not mad can I borrow a weapon of some sort?." Jason said "Follow me" Thomas agreed and as he followed Jason he led him into another room and then down some stairs as Jason said, "Take what you and Lily need." Thomas looked as he saw a few piles of armor and weapons as he asked Jason "Where did you get all of this stuff?" Jason looked at Thomas and said, "I've had this establishment for a while and when an adventurer gets drunk he might leave behind gear and if they don't come back to retrieve it within the week they probably either don't want it or forgotten about it so I started to stockpile what they left." Thomas looked at the gear as he said "Will any of this armor even fit Lily and can she even wield one of these weapons?" Jason looked at Thomas as he said "Don't worry about finding armor and weapons yet right now you still have to teach Lily how to use that water bolt spell you guys were talking about."
Thomas looked at him as he said "Your right we should begin to teach her while theirs still sunlight." Thomas started to walk up the stairs as he told Jason "I'll teach her how to use that spell for sure." Thomas walked up the stairs and out of the room as he asked Fredrick "Are you ready to teach Lily how to use water bolt?" Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Yes, and I've already decided that the best place to teach her is near the bridge outside of town." Thomas thought about it as he said "That makes sense, we'll be away from people and we'll have a huge open space to teach her."
