Thomas looked at Scarlett as he asked "Why stick around with me, someone who was gonna kill you?" Scarlett looked back into the cave as she said "I betrayed the demon race and it won't be long before news reaches the demon lord." Thomas looked at her as he buttoned his cloak and put the hood on while telling her "You can do whatever you want to do now so enjoy your life." Thomas started to walk back towards the city as she began to follow him. Thomas turned around and seen her following closely behind him as he asked "Why are you still following me?" She looked at him as she said "You said I could do whatever I want." Thomas sighed as he looked at the moon and said "I still have soon time." Scarlett looked at him as she asked "Time for what?" Thomas pointed to the moon as he said "Once the moon goes down I gotta be back in the city."
Scarlett looked at him as she asked "Why?" Thomas looked at the ocean as he said "No one knows I'm out here and if I'm not back it'll cause some people to worry." Scarlett looked down at the sand as she said "I wish people would worry about me." Thomas yawned as he said, "I'm sure you'll find someone." Scarlett looked at Thomas as she asked "Do you think so?" Thomas looked at the moon as he said "Sure it's always a possibility." Thomas continued walking towards the city as he looked at Scarlett and asked "Why are you still following me?" Scarlett didn't answer him as he continued to walk. Once near the city, Thomas started to climb up from where he came from. Scarlett climbed up after him as Thomas watched and said "Following me is completely pointless." Scarlett ignored him as she continued to climb up after him. Thomas began to walk towards the city as Scarlett followed him. The two guards yelled "Halt."
Thomas looked at the guards and asked "Why are you blocking my path?" They looked at Scarlett as they said "We can not let a demon in." Thomas looked at the guards as he said "If she causes any problems in the city I'll take the punishment." The guards looked at each other as they nodded and said "You may proceed." Thomas looked at the guards as he walked into the city and mumbled "Great now how am I gonna explain her following me." Thomas walked into the capital as he set down the paper and said "The dungeons no longer a problem." The lady behind the counter looked at Scarlett as she asked "Is she with you?" Thomas nodded as he said, "As of now I suppose she is." The lady pulled Thomas closer as she whispered to him "Demons aren't exactly the most trusted race." Thomas looked at her as he asked "Can I just have my payment so I can leave?" The lady handed Thomas ten silver coins as she said "Thank you for dealing with the dungeon."
Thomas took the coins and handed them to Scarlett as he said "That should be enough to live off of for a few weeks." Scarlett looked at him as she asked "Why are you giving me the silver." Thomas looked at her as he said "Why not give adventurer life a try it's easier than scrounging around for food." Thomas looked at her as he pointed to the counter and said "If you wanna be an adventurer you can register there." Thomas looked at her as he said "If you're looking for a place with rooms you can stay at theirs a place called the Rolling Ship Inn not too far from here." Thomas began to walk out of the capital as he said "Another adventurer would make the city a lot safer after all." Thomas began to walk towards the Rolling Ship Inn as he snuck around back and began to climb the building. He peeked through the window he had left through and snuck in as he put his weapons, money, spellbook, and newly bought cloak under the bed.
Thomas looked out the window as he said "Looks like the sun's coming up." Thomas walked out of the room and down the stairs as he looked at the quest board and whispered "I'm gonna have to keep a close eye on those quests to make sure nothing dangerous is near the city." Thomas looked over as he saw Cali carrying new quest papers. Thomas looked at her as he asked "Anything interesting?" Cali looked at Thomas as she said "Theirs a few goblins that have been terrorizing a nearby town." Thomas looked at the stack of papers as he said "That could be fun." Thomas looked at the door as he saw Scarlett walk in. As Cali looked at her she fell to the ground while screamed "Demon!" Thomas looked at Cali as he said "Oh boy here we go again." Thomas got up and helped Cali to her feet as he said "Don't worry Scarlett's not a bad person." Cali looked at him as she said "Scarlett?" Thomas looked at Scarlett as he said "I actually met her quite recently."
Scarlett walked over as she said, "Hey Thomas you didn't tell me you also stayed here." Thomas looked at her as he said "Yeah I'm here a lot." Cali looked at Thomas as she asked "Don't you live here." Thomas looked at her as he said "Yup." Thomas looked at Scarlett as he asked "So are you gonna be an adventurer?" Scarlett nodded as she said, "I'm gonna try and live a peaceful city life." Cali looked at her as she said "A demon living a city life?" Thomas looked at Scarlett as he said "If you wanna be an adventurer your gonna need a weapon." Thomas started to walk towards the door as he said "Follow me I know a place or two." Scarlet followed Thomas out of the inn as she asked "Where are we going?" Thomas looked at her as he said "We can't exactly get any top tier weapons with ten silver so we're gonna go to a nearby stand and get you a weapon there."
Once they arrived at the stand Thomas looked at Scarlett as he said "Take a look around and see if anything catches your eye." Thomas walked up to the shopkeeper as he explained that Scarlett wouldn't hurt anyone as Scarlett looked for a weapon. Eventually, after searching for a while Scarlett found herself a decent sword. Thomas told Scarlett to grab the sword and give it a test swing. Scarlet grabbed the sword and swung it around a few times as she said "This will do." Thomas pointed to the counter as he said "Better go find out how much it costs before you get too used to it." Scarlett walked up to the man as she asked "How much for this sword?" The man rubbed his chin as he said "Six silvers" as the man said this Scarlett reached into her pocket and handed the man the six silver coins as she turned and asked Thomas "Now how do I do quests?" Thomas looked at her as he said "Follow me."
Thomas began to walk back to the Rolling Ship Inn as he turned to Scarlett and said "So your actually gonna give turning your life around a try huh?" Scarlett nodded as Thomas said, "That's great but you can't hang around me forever." Scarlett looked at him as she asked "Why not?" Thomas looked at the now rising sun as he said "It's just not an enjoyable situation for anyone." As they arrived at the Rolling Ship Inn Thomas and Scarlett walked in as Jason was setting up. Jason looked at Thomas as he said "I'm not even going to ask." Thomas looked at him as he said "That's probably for the best." Thomas led Scarlett over to the quest board as he said "You can get quests here." Scarlett looked at them as she asked "How do I do them." Thomas looked at the board as he said "Grab the one you wanna do and then get it registered at the counter and after that, you complete it and then turn it into the capital."
Scarlett looked at him as she asked "Is the capital the building we were in before?" Thomas nodded as he said, "And now you know everything you need to about being an adventurer." After Thomas was done explaining to Scarlett how being an adventurer works Lily and Fredrick woke up and walked down the stairs as They asked Thomas why he was so friendly with a demon. Thomas just looked at them as he said "We met recently and she's decided on becoming an adventurer." Scarlett looked at them as she said "Nice to meet you all and may we have many adventures together." Thomas looked at her as he said "None of us are that formal so you can drop the act." Scarlett looked at Thomas as she apologized.
