They all left the Rolling Ship Inn and started to head toward the bridge outside of City. Once beyond the city walls Thomas turned around and started to walk backward in front of Lily and Fredrick as he asked "Are their ways to improve magic attacks?" Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "You can make the spell stronger by pouring more mana into it or by perfecting the spell." Thomas looked at him and asked, "How do I increase the amount of mana I can put into a spell?" Fredrick looked at him as he said "The answer to that is simple all you need to do is train your magic much like your body." Thomas stopped walking backward and started walking forwards again as he said "can you tell me without being cryptic?" Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Every time you use your magic your mana pool grows little by little meaning every spell you cast makes you slightly stronger."
Thomas looked up at the sky as he said "Guess Lily isn't the only one who's gonna be practicing magic." Fredrick peered off into the ocean as he said "I agree we both have much work to be done." Thomas put his arms behind his head and yawned as he said "You can say that again." As the two of them walked and talked together Lily followed behind as she kept trying to fire off the water bolt as they walked. Thomas turned around and said, "You know that spells a lot easier to pull off when you can feel the water after all feeling the water makes it easier to focus on." Lily looked at him as she said "Why didn't you tell me that sooner?" Thomas shrugged as he said "Not a clue." Fredrick looked at Lily as he said "That's exactly why we're heading towards the bridge." Lily looked at him as she said "We're going to the bridge to stand in the water and practice spells?"
Fredrick said "Not quite, you'll be standing in the water as you train your focus as me and Thomas work on expanding our mana pools." Lily nodded and continued to follow them to the bridge as Thomas aimed his finger at a rock in the distance as he asked Fredrick "What would happen if I tried the spell with only my finger." Fredrick stopped moving and looked at Thomas as he said "I suppose theirs only one way to find out." Thomas lined up his finger with the rock as he said "I guess your right, so here goes nothing, water bolt." As Thomas said this water began to come out of his fingertip and landed directly in front of him as he said "Not what I was expecting but still good to know." Fredrick looked at the water land less than a foot away from Thomas as Fredrick suggested adding more mana to his finger before firing."
Thomas agreed and as he lifted his hand he said "I'm gonna put ninety percent of my mana into this!" As he aimed his finger at the rock he asked "We all ready." Fredrick and Lily both nodded as Thomas yelled "Good cause here goes nothing, water bolt!" As the stream of water shot from his finger, he said "This one a lot more exhausting." Fredrick looked at where Thomas had fired the water bolt and seen that it had pierced through the stone as Fredrick saw this he looked at Thomas and said "Very impressive." After Thomas fired the water bolt he fell to the ground and started to breathe heavily as he said "Note to self don't use ninety percent." Lily walked over and stuck her head over Thomas as he laid on his back she said "That was really cool." As Thomas laid there he lifted his head as he asked "Did I hit the stone I was aiming for?"
Fredrick looked at Thomas as he said "Yes in fact you pierced right through it." Thomas said, "That's great and all but you guys should go on without me, I'll catch up but first I gotta catch my breath." Fredrick looked up ahead as he pointed to the bridge and said "We're almost there you won't have to worry about catching up too much." Lily and Fredrick walked to the bridge as Thomas laid there and stared at the sky. As Thomas did this he began to fall asleep in the middle of the path. As he fell asleep he woke up once again in the field of flowers as the lady stood there she said "Long time no see." Thomas looked at her as he said "It's good to see you again." The lady looked at Thomas as she asked "Did your wounds heal yet?" Thomas looked at his stomach as he asked "How did you know I was injured?" She looked off into the distance as she said "I've been observing you for a while."
Thomas looked around as he asked, "How are you watching me?" She ignored the question and instead asked "So how is it to finally be out of that cage?" Thomas looked at her as he said "That was one of my more miserable moments but other than that it's nice to be out of that pesky cage." Thomas looked at the sky as he said "We've been talking a lot lately haven't we?" She nodded as Thomas said, "And yet I still know nothing about you." She turned to look at Thomas as she said "You may know nothing about me but I know all about you." Thomas sat back down on the ground as he said "Guess you don't plan on telling me anything?" She nodded to his question as Thomas woke up to find himself under a tree as Lily laid on his shoulder sleeping as he saw the sun was about to set. As Thomas looked around to see where Fredrick was Lily woke up and yawned as she said "Good morning."
Thomas looked out at the sun as he asked "Did you learn the spell while I was sleeping?" Lily shook her head as she said "No I didn't have any luck." Thomas stood up and said, "We've got till sundown so let's make it count." As Thomas said this Lily stood up and said "Oh by the way Fredrick said he was heading back to the Inn." Thomas looked at Lily as he rubbed his head and said "Ya that's probably my fault for sleeping." Thomas looked at Lily as he said "Try to fire the water bolt." Lily nodded as she raised her hands and yelled "water bolt!" Thomas began to smell the air as he said "You're stopping the mana in your wrists and it's causing a mana build up." Lily looked at him as she asked "So then what am I suppose to do?" Thomas grabbed her hand as he pointed to where the mana build-up was as he said "To avoid this picture a river steadily flowing and your goal is to have it move continuously without stopping or distraction."
Lily looked at Thomas as she asked how do I keep it from building up though?" Thomas looked at the sky and then back down at Lily as he said "Just before you fire try taking a deep breath." Lily looked at him as she said "Are you sure it'll work?" Thomas stared at the river as he said "Wind doesn't bother the water so maybe it'll help you." Lily looked at Thomas as she said "It's worth a shot." Lily raised her hands as and put one in front of the other as she took a deep breath and yelled "Water bolt!" Suddenly a bolt of water blasted out of her hands as she began to yell "I did it I used magic!" Thomas looked at the water as he said "You sure did, but now we gotta practice this stuff so we can become even stronger." Lily and Thomas looked at each other as they both said "We're gonna train until night." Lily and Thomas continued to fire water bolts until they both were completely out of breath and after they finished they both fell to the ground and looked up into the sky.
As they looked up they both seen the stars and the moon as Thomas said "Looks like it's time to head back already." Lily laid there as she said, "I don't wanna move." Thomas looked at her and said, "Don't worry I'll carry you home so you won't have to." Lily looked at Thomas as she said "Thank you." Thomas picked her up and started to walk back towards the town as he said "Thank me, for what?" But before he could get an answer Lily fell asleep and he ended up carrying her all the way home. When he got back Fredrick was at a table and asked Thomas "Was she able to pull it off?" Thomas looked at him as he said "She managed to do it but after we both worked ourselves to exhaustion." As Thomas said this Jason walked into the room and said "I hope you worked up an appetite while you were out there." Thomas went up the stairs and set Lily down on her bed as he left the room and went back downstairs with Fredrick and Jason.
