As Lily woke up to greet the next day she scurried over to Thomas's bed as she rubbed her eyes and said "It's time to wake up." As she went to nudge him she realized that he wasn't in the bed. She looked around the room as she looked for Thomas. After searching the room for Thomas she decided he wasn't in the room and left as she went down the stairs to go find her father to ask if he had seen Thomas. Once she was down the stairs she seen her father as she asked "Have you seen Thomas?" Jason looked at her as he rubbed his head and said "Wasn't he in the room with you." Lily looked down at the ground with a tear in her eye as she said "But he said that he'd go on an adventure with me." Jason looked outside the window as he said "Maybe he just went out for some fresh air?"
Lily looked at her father as she said "Or he just ran away." Jason watched Lily as she walked to the door and said "I'll be back shortly." As Lily left two other men walked in as Jason said "Welcome your just in time we're about to open shortly." Lily looked back at the inn as she walked through the town and towards the port as she saw a massive ship docked. As she walked closer she seen Thomas sitting on the edge of the dock holding some sort of book. She began to smile as she ran onto the dock and towards Thomas as she thought "I knew he wouldn't leave." Once she got near Thomas he said "Hello Lily." She stopped running and looked at him as she asked "How did you know it was me." Thomas stood up as he pointed to his nose and said "I can smell you." Lily looked at his hands which held a book as she asked "Where did you get that from?"
Thomas looked at the large ship as he said "They needed help unpacking the ship so they asked me to help and as a book fell out of the bag they said I could have it since no one else could read it." Lily looked at Thomas as she asked "What's the book about?" Thomas held the book up as he said "It's a special magic book." Lily looked at Thomas as she said "How do you know it's a magic book?" Thomas looked at the cover as he said "The reason no one else can read it is that the writing is in another language." Lily looked at him as she said "That's so cool, but how can you understand it then?" Thomas took the book and tossed it to her as he said "It's in the language I originally spoke." Lily looked at the cover of the book and then at him as she asked "What do you mean by in the language you originally spoke?"
Thomas walked over to her and took the book out of her hands as he said "It's hard to put into words but I suppose I can just say I didn't speak this language before but about a month ago someone I knew taught me how to speak the Demi-human language." Lily looked at him as she said "You're not speaking Demi human your speaking Tennekhi." Thomas looked back at the book as he said "Well this book isn't in that language since I can read this it can't be, besides theirs no way I learned how to read overnight right? Lily looked at the book in his hand as she excitedly asked "Can you use any magic yet?" Thomas lifted the book as he said "I can manage small spells but nothing fancy." She looked at Thomas as she said "Can you teach me?" Thomas looked at the book as he said "Sure why not." Thomas tossed Lily the book as he said "This book has pictures showing how the spell should turn out pick one out that looks fairly easy."
As she looked through the book she noticed that the book only consisted of a few spells but after flipping through the book a few times she pointed to a page as she said "This one!"
Thomas looked at the page in the book as he said "So you wanna know how to use water bolt?" Thomas looked out into the Ocean as he said "The book says you put one hand out and then but that hand behind it as you let mana flow through your body and then you say water bolt." As Thomas showed Lily how to do it water shot out of his hand as Lily watched in amazement as she said "My turn my turn!" Thomas sat down as he said, "Man that's exhausting." As he sat down a man on the boat called out "That's some impressive magic can you do anything else?" Thomas looked up as he said, "Nope that's all I've learned to do so far." As Thomas and the man talked Lily stood on the dock as she faced the ocean standing in the same pose Thomas did as she yelled "Water bolt."
Thomas looked down at her as she said "Why isn't it working?" Thomas looked at Lily as he said "To control the flow of mana its best to close your eyes and to control your breathing and after you do that try to circulate your mana into your arms." Lily looked at him as she waved her arms around and yelled "How am I suppose to do that?" Thomas rubbed his head as he said "You see the ocean right?" Lily nodded as she said, "Of course I can see it." Thomas said, "Good, now try to relax and focus on the water but don't forget to control your breathing and after that, you take your hands and aim them at your target and then say water bolt." As the man watched them he said "Your quite the teacher aren't you?" Thomas looked at the man as he said "Not even close." As Lily continued to use the water bolt she asked "Is there an easier way to do this?" Thomas looked at her as he said "I suppose you can do it with one hand but by doing this you lower its effectiveness by about half."
Thomas lifted his hand as he took a breath and said "Water bolt." As the water started coming out of his hand Lily noticed that it had a lot less power than before as she asked "Can you continue to teach me how to do that?" Thomas looked at her as he said "Sure no problem." The man on the boat got off the ship as he asked "Mind if you try to teach me to?" Thomas shrugged as he said, "I don't see why not." Thomas took his stance as he put both his hands out one behind the other as he said "For maximum effectiveness push the mana into the hand in front of your other hand as you say water bolt." As Thomas shot the water once more the man said "Now I understand how to do it." Thomas sat down as he said, "Good then teaching you should be easy, right?" The man took the same stance as he said "Back in the old days I dreamed of being a powerful wizard."
As the man continued to talk he said "But nowadays I dream about sailing the seas using magic to help those in need." Thomas looked at the man as he sarcastically said "Wow how noble of you." The man looked at Thomas as he said "Sorry I was ranting wasn't I." Thomas said, "Ya whatever it's fine but are you gonna fire off your water bolt or what?" The man said, "Oh yes sorry to keep you waiting." The man looked out into the ocean as he began to control his breathing's and then yelled "Water bolt!" As the man yelled this a powerful blast of water shot out of his hand more than two times as powerful than Thomas's water bolt as the man said "I probably forgot to tell you but I came from across this sea to do some adventuring and I just so happen to be a newbie wizard."
Lily looked at the man as she said "That was incredible!" Thomas looked at the man as he said "I knew I could smell something similar to that fruit but I didn't know that something was mana?" The man looked at Thomas as he said "You can smell magic?" Thomas looked at him as he shrugged and said "I guess so." Lily looked at the man as she said "If your an adventure my father runs an inn called the Rolling ship Inn and it welcomes adventures." The man looked at her as he said "By all means lead the way young lady." Thomas yawned as he followed behind them and mumbled "Magic is so draining, why do I feel so exhausted after firing a couple of beginner spells."
