A boy with blonde hair and aqua blue eyes stood below the arch connecting the wide balconey to the hall. The boy stepped outside with his hands on his back and his chin raised up.
"Hah?."
The old man reeked of alcohol, his face flushed and his manner of not differentiating someone of power proves he was drunk, not even realizing the kid he was harrasing is two ranks higher than he is and the one he raised his voiced at is also one of the few people to not be messed around.
"Have your eyes gone bad?."
The boy stepped in closer, closer until he was a few inch closer to Viscount Ardens big belly, he looked at him mockingly and grinned, his eyes shinning above the night sky, a hint of bloodthirst lingering deep within in his eyes.
"What did you say kid?!."
Viscount Arden grabbed the boys collar roughly, picking the boy up in mid air, his feet dangling in the air while the old man dragged his whole body swaying left and right snychronizing with his wobbly feet.
"Carnia, Close your eyes."
He said in a serious tone, his eyes were stone cold looking at Viscount Arden with disgust and distaste but his smile contradicts his actions, the way that he could smile even in this situation suprises Carnia in a whole other level.
"W-What?."
Carnia was a bit taken a back, she was silent the whole time and just observed the whole situation, she decided to let the whole situation wrap itself up without her doing anything beforehand. It was a womens advantage during fights and she was not afraid to use her gender power.
"I said close your eyes."
She hesitated for a moment but quickly closed her eyes from the sharp tone of his voice that made her tremble, A voice of someone with authority and power, the moment she closed her eyes she felt a chiling aura on the air, the one that makes you shiver up to your bones.
When the atmosphere turned extremely quiet, she opened his right eye slowly and what she saw made her want to puke, she quickly turned around and closed her eyes again, breathing heavily trying to remove the scene on her mind.
"I thought I told you to close your eyes?."
the boy stood beside her, swaying his right hand mid air to dismiss the knights hidden in the dark, the corpse laying on the ground was quickly moved and thrown off from another balcony and all evidences of the murder were cleaned and removed.
"I-I."
she was unable to utter a word, the scene she saw earlier was still in the back of her head, replaying the scene all over and over again, the scene of an old man with his face burned off to crisp, with his head still dripping with blood.
The most horrifying thing was she did not hear a thing. In a short amount of time the condition of the old man reduced to a man with his nose almost ripped off and his mouth almost extinct but the teeth are still intact.
"Calm down."
The boy said calmly, he was not comforting her but demanding her to calm down, Carnia tried to compose herself but she was still afraid, her body is still trembling from the shock.
"I-I."
The boy grasped her shoulder and calmed her down, this time comforting her in a soft voice, his eyes were not the ones of a killer but of a sweet innocent child with the help of the boy Carnia was able to calm down just a little bit enough for her to talk.
"My name is August Sullivan."
August smiled as he spoke, Carnia knew he was August right from the start but dare acted clueless, he was Carnia's fiancé from the past and the reincarnated husband of the women in the story. the long and painful history of these two already made her uncomfortable.
"Your majesty, My name is Carnia Valentine."
She bowed her head daring not to look in her eyes, after she had bowed she turned her head and averted his gaze. Looking at the scenery infront of her like nothing had happened not realizing that the way she acted was considered rude.
"This is the first time someone treated me like that."
August spoke in a gentle tone, laughing softly at the end of his sentence making Carnia turned her head to meet his face eye to eye in curiosity.
"Like what?."
Carnia gazed at her for a couple of seconds and quickly looked away, staring once again at the landscape infront of her. August did not reply and chose to not say a word.
Absolute stillness was brought up in the balcony, they were silent the whole time but did not feel uncomfortable, Carnia as well did not feel awkward in exchange for that she felt more at ease which made her confused.
She thought, she was not the women from the story but she felt a some sort of warmth beside him. She thought maybe the remains of the womens spirit was still within this body that explains the reason why she feels a tingle inside her body when she is near August.
"I have to go."
She turned around and closed her eyes not wanting to remember what had happened earlier, she did not wait for August to reply and swiftly rushed off the balcony wanting to erase the feelings she felt when they were together, the feelings of warmth by the remaining spirit of the women inside her.
