As Gary's head rolled to the ground, he felt no pain. Instead, he had the odd perspective of his body standing there, headless.
He heard the branch master ordering the murder of the Machinist and any of his offspring. He also heard the branch master order the organization of a team to find Oregon, as they believed that it was a militant village, full of people ready to support the new Machinist.
After the branch master finished ordering people around, he warily eyed the still-standing corpse. Reaching out his hand, he easily toppled the corpse. Gary watched as his body fell, feeling the odd, disconnected feeling from his body. With his wierd perspective, when the branch master turned around, he moved his body in a quick, puppet-like fashion and slit the branch master's throat ear to ear.
He controlled his body to jerkily bend down and pick up his head. Unsure what he should do with it, he tentatively put it back on his neck.
His flesh felt itchy as the muscle and bone knit itself back together. Standing above the branch master's corpse, he verified it was dead and finished beheading him.
Taking the severed head with him, he exited through the back window and left the town.
Carrying the head to a nearby tree, Gary hung it up and left a note. "Nice try. Next time be more thourough in your kills. -Gary" It read.
Gary's first objective as of now was to get out of the fallout zone.
Food was scarce in the zone of the fallout, so for him to be able to survive, he needed to get out.
Gary then began his long trek northward.
