Salem scrutinized his new form from the ends of his pitch-black and wickedly sharp claws, to the tips of his massive scaled wings.
He was shaped exactly like a typical western dragon, except his wingspan was far larger. 'Figures.' He thought. 'Those wings depicted in drawings back home had far too little surface area to get such a large creature in the air.'
He did not feel comfortable in this new form at all. 'Well, I suppose the more I'm in it, the faster I adapt.' He thought.
"I'm changing back." He said, but it came out far louder than he intended.
Both Alina and Ruby flinched at the sheer volume of his voice.
As the burning pain intensified, he wondered how he had so much mass if as a human he wasn't even 50 kilograms.
Finishing his painful transformation, he felt something was different.
Alina and Ruby were gaping at him.
"What?" He asked, feeling slightly self-conscious.
"You have HAIR." Ruby said, clearly shocked.
"I do?" He reached up and patted his head. "I do."
Making a nanobot mirror, he examined the changes to his body.
"Looks like that sped up my physical growth." He said, shocked at the changes.
His eyes now were deep black pools, ready to drown someone if they weren't careful. Every part of his eyes, including the sclera were black. His hair in his previous life was black, but the shade of his hair now put it to shame.
His skin stood out in stark contrast to his hair. It was pale, but not quite albino. Examining himself, he found even his burn marks were gone.
"Well. This is interesting." He remarked.
"Why do you not seem surprised?" Alina asked.
"In my previous world, stories like what we're living almost always had race transformations heal the humanoid body." He responded, not at all shocked.
Ruby hugged him. "Now you won't stand out as much!" She said excitedly.
Salem opened his mouth to refute her, but Alina beat him to it.
"This will probably make him stand out more." She said. "I'm sure there are other burn victims, but how many people have such a beautiful contrast between their hair and their skin?"
Ruby opened her mouth to refute, but Alina was too fast.
"In addition, since we're headed north, blonde haired and blue eyed are going to be more common." She lectured.
"And how many people have you met with pure black eyes?"
Ruby looked sad. "So this might make our journey harder?" She asked.
Salem silenced Alina with a look. "On the contrary." He said, comforting her. "They probably only had my previous appearance. I look considsrably different now, don't I?"
They agreed.
"As for my eyes, I can fix that with coloured contacts." He demonstrated putting in contacts that simulated white sclera and blue irises.
"Woah." Ruby exclaimed.
"That makes things easier, doesn't it?" Alina asked.
"Well," Salem said, modifying his hair colour. "With a class that allows you to do almost anything, everything is easier, isn't it?"
