It didn't take long for her to find the person that was in charge. It was a man named Wu Fang. He was behind what looked like a old school wooden counter. To an average sized man it would come up to their waist for Bai Mei Li it came to just a few inches below her breasts. She frowned… was there a need to make the counter so high?
"Welcome, is there something I can help you with?" The man behind the counter smiled. He was a older man with obvious graying hair. He was a bit over weight and although it wasn't enough to be considered unpleasant it was clear that he did put much if any attention into exercise. He had laugh lines around her eyes and mouth. His face was circular in shape which the beginnings of a double chin. His eyebrows and mustache were all neatly trimmed. Overall he had a very jolly and approachable appearance.
"Yes, I can came here for two things. The first was the bulletin board the community center was said to have and second to check out these books."
"That's not a problem at all." He said with a smile. "Do you have an identity token?"
Bai Mei Li shook her head.
"Alright then lets take care of that first." He bent down and picked up Something. When he Straightened back he had two runes in his hands. He placed one on the Counter and the other handed directly to Bai Mei Li.
Bai Mei Li Looked at the rune in her hand. She wasn't confused, she Just didn't expect for them to have this kind of runes here. Wasn't this a village separated from the outside world? But she immediately understood. Now that she was here wouldn't she be adding to this place? So must of all the other transmigrators before her.
From her memories left by the previous Bai Mei Li she understood what these runes were. The rune that he had placed on the counter was called the 'master' rune, and the rune that had been handed to her was called the 'subordinate' rune. These runes were very complicated and required and advanced rune master. Rune masters powerful enough to to create these were so rare that these information runes could only be found in the imperial family or large sects. Because she was a core disciple she owned one of these information runes that they called identity tokens.
"you've seen these before?"
''Yes I have, I own on already"
"well that's good, that will Make this a lot easier." He said with a nod. He usually had to explain everything from the beginning. Which would in turn would lend to a bunch of questions. That Just made the whole process last forever. It wasn't that he was a Impatient person, It was Just that he'd recently gotten remarried recently so he was just anxious to return to her.
Bai Mei Li nodded. She also didn't want to waste time here either. she needed to cultivate and she still needed to feed Xiao Jun. There were also all of these new books that she'd found.
Because they both knew what they were doing, activating, imprinting, and sealing the information into the rune hadn't taken longer then thirty minutes. Wu Fang was quite experienced with doing this so it only took a single attempt.
The rune from her Sect had an intricate and delicately crafted design on the rune that they'd passed to her. It was the schools crest and she, like the previous Bai Mei Li, thought that it was quite beautiful.
This rune was a lot more simple. The crest of the sanctuary was also on it as well. On one side it was the internationally recognized Chinese flag symbol. On the other side was the national emblem. She smiled softly.
Honestly she hadn't really given these symbols much thought since she'd gotten here. There had just been too much going on for her to lament on very much from that place, but now that she had it in hand she felt a little choked up. These were the symbols of her country. They'd been important to her then, they were important to her now.
"Thank you for taking out the time to help me with this. I really appreciate it. Is there anything else that we need to take care of?"
"No, that's about it. You'll just need to take your time a familiarize yourself with the place so that your comfortable. Down that hall are two other open areas. The room on the right is for everyone. The room on the left is just for practitioners. I've already marked your identity token as that of a practitioner so you can enter that left room." He was putting thing away while he was talking. He really wanted to go home to his new wife… She was certainly waiting for him. "Don't let non-cultivators into that room. It has missions in there that average people can not handle, but that doesn't stop them from trying because of the gold and silver offered. So it's best for everyone that we keep it separate."
"Alright, no problem. Thank you again." She said and bowed a little. She took the books in one hand and took Xiao Jun's hand in the other.
The little steam bun had been very silent because of the picture book that he'd picked up. He'd never seen stories like this and he was very interested, so he was a little disappointed when he saw that his elder sister was already done.
Bai Mei Li didn't notice Xiao Jun slight unhappiness. She was too curious about the currant events of this world. She wanted to know what was going on so she could plan her next steps with better precision then she'd been doing in the past.
She dragged Xiao Jun down the hall toward the room on the right. She enter without any problems and looked around.
Like with everything else the living space was simple and efficient. The back wall was covered in parchment.
Bai Mei Li walked over to it and started reading. It was all just basic gossip that would be able to keep everyone updated on the general goings on of the outside world.
She hadn't thought there was anything important on there until she saw something that surprised her a little.
-'Bai Mei Li core disciple of the Secular Pantao Sect is missing and presumed dead. Tournament to decide new top core disciple to be help on ****'-
Bai Mei Li looked at the writing with a slight frown.
She found it a little sad that this was all the previous Bai Mei Li was allotted after a lifetime of being worshipped by everyone. She'd been taught through the actions and words of other that there was no one more cherished then anyone else. Now they hadn't even confirmed her life or death and they were already looking to replace her. That girl was truly pitiable.
It was likely that her family had also moved on and placed all their hopes on her younger sister and brother. Bai Mei Li now understood that there was likely no one searching for this body anymore and she wondered if all the precautions that she'd taken had even been necessary.
She shook that thought away. There was no way she could be overly cautious in the situation that she'd been in. She'd made the right decisions with the information that she had at the time.
She scanned over the rest of the notices then turned around and walked out of the room.
"What did it say?" Xiao Jun asked looking up to her in curiosity.
"It was just news about what's going on everywhere. Nothing important." She said with a smile and brought him to the other room.
With the use of the identity token that she'd just got the room opened up without any problems.
This room was different because there were multiple rune arrays set up in the room. She could feel them with her spiritual Qi but she could tell what each of them were and what they did.
'There is a. Concealment array, noise concealing, and trap array. They are all fairly high level and very well made. The one who did this is a talent.' The soft feminine voice a little girl sounded in her mind.
Bai Mei Li immediately recognized the voice as that of Bi Yu. She'd almost forgotten about this spirit companion. After the bonding she'd gone directly to sleep. It appeared she'd only just now awaken.
'I didn't know arrays could be intertwinedlike this.' Bai Mei Li said trying to feel the arrays out.
'They aren't the most impressive thing. I can't believe that people from the lower bound have actually been able to put together a information array.'
Bai Mei Li walked to the back wall with Xiao Jun. Just like the other room all the information was placed on the back wall, unlike the other room all the information was basically just floating there like someone had written in the air.
'How is this done?'
'The array is complicated. It requires very precious materials, a high cultivation, and vast quantities of spirit Qi. It usually takes a few inscribers to complete one. To write on it you just need to have you own blood seal placed on the core rune and then you can use spirit Qi to write.'
'I understand.' She looked to Xiao Jun and was going to explain to him what it was but noticed that he didn't seem surprised. "Have you seen this before Jun'er?"
"Mmhmm elder brother has one in his study." Xiao Jun said without much concern and as though that were perfectly normal.
'Bi Yu do all wealthy people have these?' She wasn't sure because the previous owner had never seen anything like this before. If the Sect had one they hadn't shown it to even their top student.
'It isn't just about wealth. It's about knowledge and ability. These things aren't normally found just anywhere.'
'Then where are they found?'
