A few days past I stayed in my room most of the time since all my meals were brought to me by Darke. My room was complete with sitting area en-suite and tv. Since I didn't have a tv at home preferring to read then watch the same boring soaps I hadn't even turned it on yet.
Kianti came by a couple times knocking but I ignored him til he left. After all it was his fault I was stuck here bored out of my mind missing my home. Missing the mountains and the smell of the woods.
On the third day another knock sounded on my door.
"Go away Kianti!"
The knock sounded again. God he was persistent. Getting up I swung open the door.
"I said go away!"
My eyes widened in surprise. Standing before me was someone I thought I'd never see again.
"Zeldris!"
I threw my arms around him, he lifted me up spinning me around.
"God it's good to see you rav!"
I stepped back stared him up and down. He had changed so much his boyish features had morphed into a strong male. His hard male face drew me to his bright green eyes so much more appealing then my own dull ones. His short Brown hair framed his face perfectly. Don't get me wrong not as good looking as Kianti but still I found my cheeks going red as he inspected me just as I did him.
"Looks like you've grown up filled in all the right places."
He pinched my arse.
"Still short as hell tho."
I punched him in the chest.
"Still a smart arse I see."
He laughed embracing me again.
"I missed you Rav."
He held me at arms length drinking me in smiling widely. Then his face darkened.
"I'm sorry I didn't come visit."
I shook my head.
"It's fine Zeld I figured my father ordered you not to?"
He nodded running his hand through his hair suddenly awkward.
"Yea."
I motioned for him to come in as we both sat down on the couch I instantly put my feet up on his lap just like old times when we used to hang out after school, when my parents weren't home of cause. If they knew they would have thrown him out of the pack house and considering his parents had been killed he would have been homeless and packless.
"So how did you find out I was here?"
He didn't answer at first til I pushed him sitting up straighter waiting for the worst.
"Zeld what is it?"
He sighed.
"I had no choice rav he's my alpha I owe him everything if it wasn't for him the mutts would have killed me first chance they got."
I placed his hand in mine.
"Zeld stop it's ok I would never make you choose me over them."
He squeezed my hand.
"I know you wouldn't and that's what makes this so hard."
I sat back turning away from him.
"Let me guess my father knows I'm here and he wants me gone."
He seemed to hesitate.
That was all the answer I needed.
I stood up turning away from him my fists clenched. It's not like it was a surprise I knew it was coming the second we landed in New York but it still hurt that my father still hated the sight of me.
Zeld jumped up turning me around to face him as he wrapped his arms around me cradling my head in his hands.
"I knew I should've just taken my chances with the bounty hunter."
Zeld grabbed my shoulders bending down to look into my eyes.
"What bounty hunter?"
I struggled in his grasp but he was too strong.
"What bounty hunter Rav?"
I growled at him.
"What does it matter!"
The door slammed open as Kianti rushed in pushing past me he lifted Zeld up by the collar.
"How dare you lay a hand on her you mutt."
Kianti's eyes were glowing as his canines grew his wolf coming out in full force.
Zeld growled back his own eyes glowing yellow I sign of the moon goddess pack. His canines extending like Kianti's.
I tried to pull Kianti's arms away from Zeld.
"Rav stand back."
Kiantis anger was growing as his wolf grew stronger.
"You don't deserve to speak to her considering who you work for."
"Kianti enough it's not his fault."
Kiantis eyes turned to me as he towered over both Zeld and I.
"Not his fault? Do you know why he came here?"
I sighed exasperated. Why did he even care so much surely even with this life doubt he believed he owed me it wasn't this important to possibly start a war with the moon goddess pack, because that's what would happen if he killed Zeld.
His eyes flared as he fought to control his wolf.
"Kianti clam down."
"Calm down you tell me to calm down he's the one demanding we hand you over to your father so that he can kill you."
I looked to Zeld shock on my face.
"Oh didn't tell you that part did he?"
He turned back to Zeld as their growling grew louder.
"What's he talking about Zeld?"
Zeld turned to me Kianti still holding him.
"I'm just the messenger Rav."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing he made it sound like my father just wanted me out of town not killed. I mean it's not like it was surprise but I think somewhere deep inside I had hoped he wouldn't go through with it.
"How could you?"
Zeld reeled in his wolf in as he looked to me sadness in his eyes.
"I didn't want to Rav but he made me come he said it had to be me because he knew it would upset you the most. Please believe me Rav I had no choice."
"Had no choice! You always have a choice Zeld!"
Kianti let him go as he stood between me and Zeld.
"I think it's time you left."
Zeld's hands dropped to his sides in defeat.
"I'm sorry Rav."
He made to step closer but Kianti growled stopping him in his tracks.
Zeld glared at Kianti.
"This is your fault you should never have brought her back no matter the reasons."
I watched Zeld leave my heart breaking for the only friend I'd ever had growing up.
Kianti waited til he left before turning to me.
"Are you alright?"
I turn away from him not wanting him to see the tears that had started to well as I looked out the window watching as Zeld left the house.
Before stepping into his car he looked up sadness written in his eyes.
I felt Kiantis chest at my back as he slowly spun me around Zelds car disappearing into the distance.
"Raven talk to me."
He reached up to wipe the tears from my eyes but I slapped his hand away.
"Why did you bring me here?! I told you this would happen! I should've just let that bounty hunter finish what he started."
He pulled me into his arms I struggled against him. He was the last person I wanted comfort from right now. I lashed out with all my strength but like everyone of my kind he was far stronger then me.
In the end I wrapped my arms around him as the tears continued to flow. I felt Kianti's hand stoke my hair as he comforted me not saying a word.
Once my tears had all but dried up Kianti pulled away cupping my face in his hands.
"Don't ever say that again no matter what happens you do not deserve to die. Think of the people who would miss you if you hadn't escaped."
I shook my head.
"The only person left who cared about me is the person you made me leave behind."
"He's not the only person."
I stared at him confused.
"What are you talking about?"
"Me Rave I'm talking about me."
I pushed him away.
"Seriously Kianti you don't owe me anything all I did was stitch you up."
He threw up his hands in frustration.
"Why is it so hard for you to believe I care about you, for you not because of some life doubt."
"Because it's doesn't make sense!"
I turned my back on him not being able to look into those eyes pleading for something I could not give.
"I'm cursed I can't shift I have no wolf why would an alpha want anything to do with me?"
The question was rhetorical but he answered anyway.
"Because your my mate."
I spun on him my fists clenching.
"No! I can't be!"
He grabbed my shoulders.
"You are you can't tell me you don't feel it too?"
I shook my head in denial while it's true that his smell draw me in like no one I had ever met it wasn't proof. How could he possibly think that I was his mate he was an alpha and I was barely a wolf. What sort of Luna would I make if I couldn't even contribute anything to the pack they would turn on me the second I turned my back and reject Kianti as alpha because he chose someone so weak.
He was better off with someone like my sister who was strong. Someone who could connect to their wolf.
If it was true there was only one way to free him from sharing my curse. With determination in my heart I stared at him.
"I Raven moon born of the moon goddess pack-"
"What are you doing?"
Fear entered his eyes as I continued.
"Rej-"
His lips connected with mine before I could finish. I struggled against him trying with all my might to push him away but as his lips moved on mine I felt my resolve slipping. He was that tall that he had to bend his knees slightly to reach me. Slowly without being able to stop myself my hands wrapped around his neck as he lifted me up my legs wrapping around his waist.
He carried me to the windowsill as his lips never left mine.
Our lips finally parted as his kisses travelled to my neck the moan that escaped my throat urged him on as I felt his canines graze my neck. My eyes snapped open as realisation set in.
What was I doing? I couldn't let him mark me. I left this world there's no way I was going to let him suck me back in mate or not.
Using all the strength I had I pushed him away from me.
"Get out!"
He looked at me we were both panting I pulled the sleeve of my tank top back up that I hadn't even noticed he'd slid off my shoulder.
"Rave-"
I pointed to the door.
"No! I don't want this I don't want this life as soon as you find this bounty hunter I'm going back to Colorado."
The pain in his eyes almost changed my mind til the alpha in him took over.
"Fine! If that's the way you want it Get used to this room Raven cause your not leaving til I know your safe."
I growled at him.
"You can't lock me up Kianti I'm not apart of your pack."
He towered over me using his height to try and intimidate me but I didn't look away my eyes staring daggers at him.
"You may not be apart of my pack but you are mine and I'm not letting anyone hurt you. Like it or not your stuck here you might as well get used to it because even after I tear this bounty hunter limb from limb I'm not letting you go no matter what your father wants."
I pounced at him I may not be able to shift but I still knew how to cause pain, But he was too fast grabbing my wrists he lifted me up throwing me on the bed.
Stepping back his eyes glowed in anger.
"Our mates are chosen for a reason Raven like it or not you are my mate and I will not let you reject me even if I have to gag you."
He turned as I grabbed the lamp from my bedside table hurling it across the room just as he closed the door locking it behind him. the smashed pieces scattered everywhere.
I growled cursing the day I ever saved his life.
