Chapter 1 - Prologue

This is a story of a forgotten champion whose feats and accomplishments were never known and recognized.

It all started long before our hero Ash Ketchum was even born. At that time the pokemon world was a lot different than what it is now. Unlike today there were only three regions back then which compromised the Pokemon League. Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn. Each region had his own champion who had emerged victorious in the pokemon league tournament and post that had defeated the Elite 4 of the region he/she belonged to. But, the quest didn't end there, after defeating the Elite 4, the trainer had to defeat the current champion of the region for claiming the title of the greatest of all time. To reach this level the trainers had to go through a rollercoster ride of a journey starting from scratch when they get their official starter pokemon. Back then technology had not progressed much, all the researches of the scientists, pokemon researchers were recorded in books and were not so easily available and accessible to each and every person. The way official starters were given to the novice trainers was also different. Each region had it's governing body which comprised of the Elite 4 of the region and the current champion of the region. Each member of the committee had great authority but, for avoiding the conflict of interest the current champion of the region was held in higher regards than the Elite 4, the champion had the ultimate veto power to contradict any decision and impose his/her decision if needed. When new trainers were to start their pokemon journey they first had to get themselves registered in the pokemon league as the official candidate and post that they were allotted their starter pokemon. Unlike today the starters were not just three of fire, grass and water type each, it was more of a lucky draw system. Trainers had to pick one pokeball from a big desk which had multiple slots in it having one pokeball in each slot. All of the pokeballs had a first stage pokemon of that region. But, then again there was a catch, the trainers were not given any of those stage 1 pokemons which do not have any pre and post evolution level of it. For example, trainers were not allowed to get Tauros, Pinsir, Farfetch'd in the Kanto region as they do not have any pre and post evolution stage. The pokeball the trainer chose had the starter pokemon inside it. Well this was just the beginning of one hell of a journey, trainers had to defeat all the 8 gym leaders of their region for which they got a badge for each gym battle victory. Only after beating all the 8 gyms they were eligible for participating in the joint pokemon league contest. Yes! at that time a single tournament used to take place every 3 years in which all the registered trainers of all the three regions who have won the 8 gym badges participated. That's why pokemon league tournament was more like a grand festival for all the people. But, to reach this feat the trainer had to be really skilled in diverse aspects. Apart from just being brave, he/she had to be persistent, compassionate, wise and a good decision maker. All in all he/she just not had to be a trainer, but also a good pokemon breeder. Which was why trainers and their abilities were measured using certain categories, which started from Rookie, then Advanced >> Ultimate >> Master >> Elite. So were the categories used for measuring the strength of pokemons. All the gym leaders were at least Ultimate level and some were stronger than that, as for the Elite 4 they were at Beginner Master level to Mater level trainers and the Champion was also of the same level but, stronger than the Elite 4 ofcourse. For a trainer to be of the Elite level it really took something special, that's why that trainer would be claimed as the Champion of the Champions. There was no such trainer born who would claim that throne and fulfill the destiny..... OR WAS THERE!! Let's see how the story unfolds...
