(Warning! This chapter will contain kissing! Read at your own risk)
As per usual, he was just staring at me. An I was just staring back until I remembered my moms words. I had to warn him. I tried to take a breath, all I got was a noes filled with water.
I stood up and went into a coughing fit. After calming down, I went back into the water. He was still there. I smiled awkwardly.
I tried to think of a way to tell him, I tried drawing in the sand but it was always covered back up. I pointed to my mouth and mouthed 'speak' but I don't think he understood. Going back up for air, I tried to remember how he had managed to make me talk underwater. I stood there for a moment before remembering our kiss. My face turned tomato red as I tried to think of any other way.
I couldn't. I sighed deeply before taking another breath and going underwater, as expected, he was still there. Just looking at him made my face go red. After several seconds of summoning courage, I mouthed a quick 'I'm sorry' before grabbing his cheeks as gently as I could and moving his face towards mine.
I kissed him, and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for some sort of magic to happen, so as soon as our lips touched, I quickly pulled away, or tried to, rather. His arms snaked around my waist and pulled me closer. As weird as this situation was, for some reason, I couldn't manage to pull away from him anymore.
I let my hands rest on his cheeks as we kissed, he pulled me even closer to him. and before I realized, I didn't need to go up for air anymore.
We continued until I had finally realize that we didn't need to. And at this point, I was almost certain he knew as well. I didn't know what sort of rush was running through my body, or the strange sparks that I felt as his hands gently caressed my back. Or maybe it was the feeling of being held that I enjoyed. But what ever it was. I knew it wasn't right.
Unwillingly pulling back from the kiss, I slowly backed away, my mind somewhat fried at our passionate kiss. I looked at him to see he looked just as awkward as I was. His hands slowly unraveling from my waist. I shuddered at the cold water that hit it. I shook my head, trying to snap myself out of it. I looked up at him and was going to say something but I paused. He looked at me slightly confused. I cleared my throat before continuing
"You should leave." I said, he only looked at me.
"Why?" He finally asked.
"The person who caught you is still looking for you, although no one believes them, it's only a matter of time before someone else sees you." I said. He stayed quiet. I felt so guilty, but I had to tell him just in case someone is planning on believing the old man.
"What about you?" He suddenly said. Shocked, I didn't know how to respond.
"I'll be fine." I said. He didn't look quiet believing. I suddenly realized something.
"By the way? What's your name?" I asked him. He looked a bit shocked as well, as if realizing that we had never exchanged names.
"Fulcrum" He said. "And yours?"
"Somnium." I responded. Although we were in the water, a light of some sort glimmered in his eyes, but before I could say anything, his facial expression darkened.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You have to go, someone is coming." he said.
"What? Why? What about you?" I wanted to go deeper before remembering that I couldn't swim. I wanted to reach out my arm and grab him, but before I could, he was gone. Just like before.
Taking his warning, I quickly went above water, taking a deep breath. When I got out of the water, I was shocked to see a middle aged man staring back at me. I jumped back in shock.
"Hello there," he said. Although he probably didn't mean to sound creepy, his voice made my skin crawl. I shuddered before picking up my things.
"Hello..?" I said throwing on my tank top quickly, I tried to avoid his gaze.
"Have you seen any particularly large... fish, swimming around?" He said. My heart stopped.
"No, not that I remember, I usually close my eyes while I swim." I blabbered. He stared at me for a moment before walking away. I glared at his figure as he left. Glancing back in the water, Fulcrum was no where to be found.
