Killian's POV
"SELENE!" a female voice screamed excitedly. Instinctively, I jumped nearly five feet off the ground. Unfortunately, it caused pain to shoot through my body from the beating I just had.
"There is no need to bloody scream!" I snapped and instantly regretted it.
"I'm sorry Selene, I was just excited to finally be able to speak with you. We have been waiting for this day since you were born all those moons ago." she pouted.
"I'm sorry dear, I didn't mean to snap at you. It just hurt when I jumped. Now, how about you introduce yourself, hmm?" I said, quickly realizing I sounded like a thirty year old mother talking to her child. Though she didn't seem to mind as she jumped right into introducing herself.
"Oh! I am Amelia!" She said excitedly. I realized then, that she would always be the loud one. I haven't even met the last one and I can tell.
"My name is Killian, but why do you guys call me Selene?" I asked.
"Oh, that is your name. You will understand in time." Jun answered and I decided to leave it alone for now. Of all the things to worry about, what the voices in my head call me is not one of them.
"Your ankle should be healed enough to wake on in about ten minutes." Amelia said, breaking the awkward silence.
"What? I am pretty sure it was broken." I deadpanned.
"Selene, I already told you that you are not human. So, you will heal faster than a human. In about ten minutes, you will be healed enough to walk." Jun said, both annoyed and amused by my reaction.
"Look, I have lived a hell of a life that has forced me to believe in what I can see. I have neither seen nor felt any proof that any of this is real." I explained internally and I swear this guide just rolled his non-existent eyes at me.
"Well, I can't help it if you are a stubborn asshat!" Jun said and I wished he wasn't in my head so I could bitch slap him.
"Okay you cuntasaurus-rex, you need to tell me everything." I said and everything went quiet.
"Selene, I cannot tell you much more than you already know." Jun responded and I balled my fists in frustration. Jun kept telling me I am not human and yet won't tell me what I am.
"Excuse me, Selene…" a calm feminie voice called out.
"Yes, who is there?" I answered, instantly confused as to why I admitted to being Selene when I had no idea who that was.
"I am the last of your three guides, Samantha. I know this all must be confusing for you. You thought that you were human until half an hour ago and I am sure that was a lot to take in. So, if you would like, I can tell you what I can." she offered, what shocked me was the more she spoke the more I seemed to calm down.
"Please, Samantha." I replied and I swear I could feel her smile.
"As you should understand… you do not have a drop of human blood in your body. Jun, Amelia, and myself make up parts of your soul. Each of us represents a supernatural being that makes up a part of you. Together, we make up something called a Quarter Breed King. Due to the laws set forth by the gods and goddesses, we are not able to disclose the species that each of us possess. In situations like this, the host is allowed three questions for each of their guides to help them along the way." Samantha said and I listened intently.
"Do you understand so far?" Amelia asked.
"Yes, is there more?" I asked knowing there was.
"Yes, each of us possess supernatural abilities. Normally if you knew what you were, we would go over them and talk about how to handle them. For now, you will have to be careful. You do possess magic, and it will grow stronger as we become closer. When we completely merge, that is when you will have access to all of our magic and abilities as well." Amelia explained this time.
"I have magic? How wouldn't I have noticed that until now?" I inquired.
"Well, first you had to awaken. That only happens when the host reaches eighteen. Now that you have, your next step needs to be figuring out what your supernatural beings are. Until you do, your magic will be sporadic and you will be vulnerable." Jun answered and I nodded in understanding. Even though I was sure they couldn't see me.
"Anything else?" I asked hopeing there wasn't but of course whatever luck I had ran the fuck out.
"Yes, you have until the next full moon to figure it out. If you don't, you will lose a portion of your power." Samantha said and I sighed.
"On a happier note, you should be able to move better now, sweetie." Amelia chirped happily, still a bit too loud. I tested out my body and slowly moved around. The pain that had pulsed through my body was reduced to a dull ache. I could have shat my pants as I realized the voices- no the guides were not lying. There was no way a normal human could heal that fast.
Shaking off the shock, I stood from the cement floor slowly as to not irritate my still healing injuries. Once I was on my feet, I looked down at the floor that was splattered over the concrete. Frowning, I turned away from the red liquid and grabbed a cloth from the metal shelf. Though I wished the blood was not there, I still turned back to clean it up. Three words came to mind as I looked at the bloodless floor 'you have magic' and I was grateful I didn't have to clean up my own blood. Instead, I used the cloth to clean myself up. I used the mirror above the small sink in the corner to see myself while I used water to wet the rag. It only took a few moments to make myself look presentable.
"Oh my God! I am gay and am walking out of the closet…" I mused as I opened the closet door. I smirked slightly when my guides each released a snicker. I was about to walk to my locker when I noticed someone stood to my right. I looked over to see a short, yes… shorter than me, girl. Her hair was a light brown with blonde at the ends with calculative bright blue eyes that looked me over.
"Who are you talking to?" she asked with no malice to her tone. It took me so off guard that I checked to make sure she spoke to me. Before I could answer, Jun was in my mind telling me to be weary of the girl in front of me. He explained that she was not human. Though I don't understand how he knew that, I trusted in his words.
"I would say my imaginary friends but I feel that they would be upset that I called them imaginary." I replied with a smile on my lips. I swear I heard Jun scoff at me while the girl walked closer with a smile on her lips as well.
"So, watcha doing in the closet?" she asked and I frowned. My eyes suddenly found the floor very interesting.
"Would you believe me if I said nothing?" I inquired but the look on her face said it all.
"Some boys found out something personal and decided to make my life hell." I answered truthfully.
"WHAT?" she nearly shouted as she circled me. She patted me down as though she was making sure I was alright. I had just met her, and she was already mothering me.
"I am fine, I promise. It's nothing I haven't been through a hundred times before." I said as I caught her shoulders in my hands. She looked pissed the second I said I had been through this before. I didn't understand why… we had just met at the time.
"What is your name?" she inquired after she shook off her previous motherly behavior.
"I thought the entire school knew who I was. They sure do avoid me for not knowing jack shit. Anyway, my name is Killian Jonas Kane, the unwilling loner and only fag of this shitty school." I answered with as much sarcasm as I could muster with a slight bow to boot. Though the distaste still seemed to settle into each word I spoke.
"From what people say, I would have never expected someone so adorable. I mean, you look like an innocent lil teddy bear!" she chimed and I couldn't help but smile at her.
"What is your name?" I asked curiously. The brown haired girl looked innocent but when she whispered 'shit' and face palmed, it was highly shocking and amusing all in one.
"My name is Kelsey Magdelana Finnick. Would you like to be friends, Killian?" she asked with a huge smile on her thin lips.
"That would be nice, but may I ask… what are you doing out of class?" I asked knowing school had another two hours left, unless the clock on the wall was wrong.
"Oh, my ma- boyfriend and I are going to ditch school with some friends. Want to come with?" she answered. I thought about it for less than a minute before I agreed to go. I was passing each of my classes with flying colors. Kelsey dragged me to her locker and she grabbed her things. Then to my locker and I grabbed my bag. I made sure I had everything before I made sure my locker was locked up tight. She hooked our arms together and we walked to the front of the school.
It wasn't until we reached the parking lot that fear bubled within me. I was about to meet new people and that never went well for me. I froze just as we reached the first car.
"What's wrong, Kay?" Kalsey asked, but I couldn't answer right away. As I tried to swallow the lump in my throat, she moved to stand in front of me.
"I don't really do well with people. I don't know why I trusted you but I don't know if I will be able to trust them as well. It just feels like a lot to deal with." I answered truthfully.
"Think of it this way, you are about to meet people for the first time. They do not know you just as you do not know them. You are not the only one taking a chance with trust." she responded and I smiled at her.
"Alright… let's get this over with." I said and we continued towards the back of the parking lot.
There were a couple of picnic tables with other students sitting there. There were two girls who looked nearly identical, down to their clothes. They were both very pretty with dark brown hair and eyes. They sat next to each other while a light brown haired boy sat to their left. His dark blue eyes glared at mine and Kelsey's interlocked arms. Across from those three were a pair of boys, both with dirty blonde hair and similar green eyes. Sitting at the next table was a girl with short brown hair and dark blue eyes. Two more boys sat with her, both on the opposite side of the table. One had bright red hair and the other was a bleach blonde. The redhead had brown hair while the other had violet.
"Ci-Ci! Where have you been? Who's the little cutie on your arm?" one of the female twins asked and I smiled shyly.
"This is my new friend, Killian." She introduced me like I was a new attraction at the circus. I, both internally and externally facepalmed.
"Killian? As in the school's supposed whore?" The brown haired boy asked and before I could answer, he was smacked in the back of the head by Kelsey.
"Ignore him! That is just my idiot boyfriend John. The two sitting next to him are Mira and Mara. They are obviously twins. While across from them we have Elias and Thomas, our second pair of twins. The girl with brown hair is John's little sister, Candice, with her boyfriend Kyle. Last but not least, the redhead is my little brother Joshuah." Kelsey introduces and each chimed in with a 'hello' or 'sup man'.
"Not to be rude, but I do want to know if you are the one the entire school calls fagglet." The one named Elias asked. Once again someone struck my accuser in the head.
"Excuse my idiota of a brother. He seems to have forgotten his manners." Thomas said and I could only laugh. These people were nuts.
"So, I have been called by many names. Most of which were inaccurate or just to hit me when I am low. I have been called a whore though I am still a virgin and I have been called a fagglet because I am indeed gay. I would much prefer to be called by my name though." I answered stronger than I felt.
"You are to cute for me to believe those horride rumors! You look like a baby bunny!" Mira chirped.
"Yes! Oh my Goddess!" Mara chimed in afterward and I laughed at the twos antics with the rest of the group. It felt good to laugh.
