Standing against the fading life, the three stood surrounded by hundreds of these creatures. The sound of waves splashing and the snarling of the ghouls slowly moving closer as the Alpha seemed to wait at the back, watching them closely as it let out a roar, waving its hands forward as the rest of the ghouls began to advance, slowly circling and pushing forward.
"Seems like we are going to have to fight to get out of here, let's keep the sea to our back, if we push north we should get to the pier and close enough to the vampires that we should get some help."
He spoke, though he really did not know if the vampires would even help them out. Though this bit of hope was everything.
Darien knew he was going to have to act first if they were pushed onto the defensive he was not so sure. To be fair he was very new to this but had strange confidence as he turned his heels north, pressing his feet into the sand below as he began to focus his strength.
His strength forcing him off like a rocket as he sprang north to the first ghoul, its surprise clear as fear ran through its features as the first slammed down into the creature, blood splattering as the body just disintegrated into mincemeat. His speed caused him to skid in the sand a few meters before he burst off again and slammed into the next creature, more blood splattering as he dispatched the second ghoul with ease.
Darien smiled, the killing and slaughter causing him to just feel right. His strength came naturally as he just destroyed one after another, his smile growing as he flipped over another ghoul as the fifth one was dispatched as he skidded to a stop, facing back to the group as he noticed Sharon and Lessly running north through a lot slower.
To him, it seemed time had started to slow down as he was moving faster than them. He began to examine the creatures before he noticed all the ghouls starting to move, his eyes catching all the details as he knew they would reach the girl's quickly if he did not interrupt.
He rushed towards them both, sliding in front as he began to slam his fist against skulls, more and more ghouls getting killed with each swing as small craters in the sand began to appear.
Eight, Nine, Ten, twelve.
Body after body falling but the tidal wave just kept coming, he could not stop them all even with his speed and powers. While he felt natural at this he still could not control it all with instinct as he overshot or his power threw him off balance. He still tried to stop them all but his eyes looked up as he noticed a massive shadow appear.
The massive Giovanni ghoul had picked up a bolder, its strength incredible as it was picked up and tossed it towards the group.
Darien pulled his hand back before thrusting it forward against the bolder, his fist connecting as the ground shook, sandblasting around as the bolder cracked first, exploding into shards as the pieces splintered off and killed several ghouls close enough.
Though as he turned his head back to Sharon and Lessly, his mind began to panic as he noticed the ghouls close, one grabbing Lessly by the wrist and tugging her.
Both girls had Tier two magic, but it was mostly utility as they could barely push away the ghouls.
The massive maw of teeth sank into Lessly's neck as it tore a massive lump of flesh, like biting into a juicy steak as blood squirted out, body going limp against the floor.
Sharon had no better fate as a hand went through her stomach, a clawed twisted hand pulling back through as Sharon fell to the floor.
The ghouls began to circle as they were going to get their next meal, bloodlust growing as Darien felt his heart sinking quickly.
"They will taste… lovely… we will… eat them… while you watch!"
The massive Giovanni ghoul muttering out in broken guttural speak, its mouth curving up to show lines of massive teeth as it began to laugh, a few skulls still stuck in its teeth as it began to close in.
Normally, Darien expected to be angry, to rage and cry while trying his best to fight this situation. Though this time that angry voice inside him was dead, it was just a cold numbness as he reached out his hand towards the girls, his sadness growing as he felt rather powerless even with his new strength.
A voice in his mind came through clearly, a woman's voice. The voice of the woman who had turned him.
"Are you giving up now?"
The voice was cold, unemotional and soft.
"What can I do? I can't kill them all with just punches!"
His voice responding as he just felt numbness, time slowed down as he watched the ghouls joyful gazes as they closed into the feast.
"You don't have to. You are powerful beyond approach. Use that coldness, let them feel it."
The voice smothered him, took the edge off his mood as he lifted his hand, letting that coldness escape him as he just let it take everything.
A few moments prior, Sharon watched Darien just explode with speed, his strength, speed and power similar to a Greater vampire at least as he destroyed one ghoul after another. Her own powers forced ghouls away, though not at anyway powerful enough to do much more than that.
She began to panic as they grew in numbers, even with her friend dispatching them they still came like a wave. It was not till she felt a stinging pain on her shoulder did she noticed the ghoul tearing a chunk out of Lessly, her screams gurgling as she felt her life fading. She was going to die by these monsters. Her stomach had a hole punched clean through as she fell to the floor.
Her eyes staring at Darien as she watched him look at peace, his hand moving up as the airdropped rapidly in temperature. The nearest ghouls to him instantly froze, ice spreading out from the man as the entire beach was covered as well as part of the ocean as it instantly froze.
The nearest ghouls became frozen solid in blocks of ice as the ice spread like a virus, ghoul after ghoul screaming as the ice crept up to them and froze them solid. When the Ice reached Sharon and Lessly, they felt soothing nature to it, Lessly's wound covered in ice as the bleeding stopped instantly, the wound on Sharon frozen over her skin as she felt relief and soothing, her vision fading as the last sight she saw made her wonder.
The giant Giovanni ghoul having several pillars of ice rammed through its the body, over and over again as it was split into multiple parts, its death screech howling as Darien walked to them both, his gaze no longer a vampire red.
His deep blue eyes, an icy blue staring down at them without emotion as he reached down for them.
