Upon passing the Town's gates with the Gold Wolf's carcass, the whole Town soon learnt that Uncle Cheng and the group was successful in hunting a Magical Beast.
This caused the an uproar in the Town, as even if they had taken down the lowest ranked Magical Beast, it should still be impossible for someone such as Uncle Cheng to bring down, as despite being one of the few individuals in the Town who was at the Journeyman Rank and above in the Town, even those who are a bit stronger than Uncle Cheng in the Town couldn't guarantee they could kill a Magical Beast.
So to the rest of the Town this was a rarely seen accomplishment.
It especially shocked the guards at the gate who upon seeing the body of the Gold Wolf, continuously congratulated Uncle Cheng's luck at being able to kill a Magical Beast but for some reason Uncle Cheng and the group didn't seem happy at all, and instead seemed anxious.
The gate guards didn't even have the opportunity to greet them, before they barged past them to rush back them.
Though of course none of the Town knew at the moment that the people in question are currently facing something they fear more than the Magical Beasts, the ire of their Wives!
Upon arriving home with the Gold Wolf's body in question, which Uncle Cheng kindly bestowed to Hui Bingweng for 'safe keeping', Hui Ying became even more furious at her foolish Husband.
Thinking about how her Husband's description of the hunting trip was just meant to be hunting a few weak Wild Beasts in the outskirts of the Forest turned into fighting a Magical Beast, has made Hui Ying become a mad devil in seconds.
"Ow. Can you calm down a bit? Nothing happened, it was just a massive complication! Look at her not the slightest hair on her head ended up being harmed." Protested Hui Bingweng as he dodged a crazy strike from his Wife, honestly he still felt a bit guilty about the whole ordeal of putting his Daughter in danger so that was why he wasn't putting that much effort into avoiding his angered wife.
Hui Ying hesitated briefly, thinking that maybe she was being a bit overboard at her Husband, but then her thoughts drifted to the fact that her Daughter was put in such dangerous situation and staring at her Husbands silly face caused her to feel infuriated again.
"Ah! So have we calmly resolved the situation..." Hui Bingweng thinking the ordeal was solved stood still, letting his guard down after seeing Hui Ying seemingly still for a moment but suddenly she became a raging inferno again and slapped Hui Bingweng across the face.
"Ok maybe I deserved that..." Hui Bingweng was about to say but was backhanded with another slap.
"Now, I'm finished! But if you think this is over you big oaf, you got one thing coming, now I will be spending some time with our Daughter!" Hui Ying said leaving a red faced Hui Bingweng as she took Li Fens hand before entering the living room.
"Ah, looks like I truly angered her this time..." Hui Bingweng mumbled as he stared at the Gold Wolf carcass left inside the house causing him to feel a sudden wave of anger at the Wolf for not only putting them in danger, but for being the culprit responsible for him angering his Wife.
Finding no outlet for his anger he approached the Gold Wolf's corpse before repeatedly kicking its carcass, saying, "Stupid Wolf!"
Quickly a month passed after the Hunting Trip took place, Hui Ying ended up not forgiving Hui Bingweng for this whole period of time, with him even being kicked out of the bedroom to be left to sleep on a makeshift bed.
Li Fen saw an aggrieved expression on the mans face every night after he went to sleep alone on the spare bed, it only was at the end of the month that Hui Ying finally forgave him much to Hui Bingwengs joy.
For the first few days of the month, her parents as well as Uncle Cheng's and the other mens Family dined on the meat from the Gold Wolf, to Li Fen as well as most of the men including Hui Bingweng this was their first time consuming the meat of a Magical Beast.
Apart from Uncle Cheng who had some Magical Beast meat before as a reward in the Military, this was a first experience to everyone and even Li Fen who experienced the meals from some of the best chefs in China within her previous life had to admit that it was delicious.
Not only that but it was highly nutritious and full of essence, even aiding her in levelling up to the next level within her cultivation allowing her to reach the Fifth Rank of the Apprentice Stage, Li Fen estimated that based on this alone, the portion of meat she ate saved her around a few days worth of hard cultivation, which although sounded small, considering that the essence she refined was only of the purest quality it is amazing.
This caused Li Fen to dream of eating Magical Beast everyday, making her wonder how much arduous hours of cultivation she would save by doing so, but Zhang Wei quickly put an end to these thoughts by describing how it is a pipe dream, as the only meat which can benefit her cultivation is from beasts who have at least a realm higher cultivation in her such as the Gold Wolf a foe at this moment in time she has no chance against.
And even if she does have such thoughts and can carry it out, the way on how she cultivates by only gathering the purest of essence will prove to be a bottomless ditch in the future, and she will require more and more essence to progress.
Such as in this moment in time the Gold Wolf meat has some affect on her but by the time she reaches the Journeyman Rank or even the 8th or 9th Apprentice Rank, the effects will be negligible.
Therefore, it is an impractical idea for someone like her coming from no background, even if she joined a powerful sect in the Kingdom they would only be able to supply her briefly meat capable of supplementing her cultivation at the lower levels, but it will come to the point were even they cannot provide good quality enough meat capable of helping her, as even the most powerful Sects and Noble clans don't possess an unlimited supply of high level beast meat.
And why would they even use all of this supply on her anyways? They can't just out of all their resources into one person, so this idea was just a pipe dream in the end.
So, for Li Fen she spent the rest of the Month cultivating and practicing Zephyr Wind, she also spent a fair bit of time with her Mother who felt a bit attached to her since the encounter with Gold Wolf encounter.
With Uncle Cheng and the others selling the valuables of the Gold Wolf and other parts of the beasts they found, the group earned a hefty sum for them.
After all everyone but Uncle Cheng was a Town Guard in the Apprentice Rank which didn't have the best of wages, so the earnings from a Magical Beast and a few high levelled Wild Beasts was a great haul for them.
Splitting the coin earned evenly, Hui Bingweng spent his share mainly on winning his Wife back, with Hui Ying spending the money shopping for a few gifts for herself and her.
With the rest of the money, Hui Bingweng upgraded his weapons and armour, after all to a low levelled Warrior such as himself, better equipment may result in the difference of saving his life, so this was a move he made without the slightest hesitation.
And after that the Hui Household was poor once again.
Oh and that little boy Wang Jian paid her a visit without his Older Brother present, it turns out he enjoyed her company as he dislikes the other Noble children who come to play with him.
Wang Jian is a very observant child, and can easily tell the children who visit him do so just because their Families want to get into favour with his, he doesn't know this directly but he can easily tell that they share no similar interests to him at all and already seem to come across as arrogant and full of themselves even as children.
In this World children mature more quickly as a result of the essence nourishing an individual from Birth, so a six year old child here in terms of mental capabilities would already be comparable to one who is nine years old on Earth.
Wang Jian liked spending time with her as he felt she was the first child around his age that he met who spoke to him normally and didn't treat him any differently just because of his status.
Li Fen just felt that talking to Wang Jian was a good break from cultivation and offered a sense of amusement to her, so she complied with his visits and spent some time with him.
After Wang Jian left the Town with his escort, Zhang Wei who hasn't spoke in a while suddenly said something, 'I think your ready for a new martial arts technique, you have actually gone above my expectations in your Mastery of Zephyr Wind within this short period of time, for that technique you won't have any breakthroughs any time soon, so it is time I finally teach you a combat related Martial Art!'
Upon hearing this Li Fen felt a great deal of excitement, because she can finally learn how to properly defend herself.
When dealing with the Gold Wolf, Li Fen felt a great deal of hopelessness in not being able to use her cultivation against the Wolves, especially when her Fathers life was in danger, she didn't want such there to be a situation were she was a so defenceless every again!
'Just teach me it! I'm ready for whatever skill you give.' Li Fen said eagerly.
'Alright, alright. Don't get to excited this skill is not at the level of the Zephyr Wind, this Martial Arts technique is a lower levelled Technique you would be able to achieve mastery with far quicker, but don't look down on it to much, it is probably the one of the best techniques that can be found in this low level Kingdom. In my previous life before I inherited the legacy of the Silver Dragon, it was one of the Martial Arts Techniques I attained.' The Dragon said proudly.
Upon hearing the Dragon she felt slightly disappointed at first, but quickly discarded this thought as she knew that were no point of having such a high level skill at the moment.
Just Zephyr Wind is taking a great deal of effort to practice, having a low levelled one she can achieve mastery with more easily, would be a better choice at this moment in time to defend herself.
'I'm transmitting the technique to your mind.' Zhang Wei said as she felt a newfound cluster of knowledge within her mind, she now knew the name of the Martial Arts Technique Zhang Wei gave her, Iron Bull Fist!
Upon reading through the skill, she immediately knew it was a far lower level compared to Zephyr Wind, which to the Dragon was unusual considering his arrogance causing him to feel ashamed in having such a 'low level skill'.
Though the Dragon wanted Li Fen a better mastery of Zephyr Wind before he transmits a equally challenging combat art other to her which takes up more of her time, so he provided her a low level skill to defend herself with.
The Dragon also wanted to provide her a better foundation in Martial Arts Techniques, as the more she masters, be it even lower levelled techniques her comprehension towards mastering Martial Arts Technique would improve.
With her first Martial Arts Technique, Li Fen began practicing it immediately, indeed finding it far easier to progress in, in comparison to Zephyr Wind, but despite it being a low level skill she felt that the power out out of the Technique was outstanding.
She even tried punching an oak tree to test the power of the technique, causing her to blast a large hole through the thick oak.
Li Fen felt amazed at the power she generated by the Technique, as right now despite being a five year old child, she already felt she could wipe the floor with her previous self completely.
'Already this much power merely at the beginning of my cultivation, and I haven't even seen the power which a Mage can generate yet, if I cultivate to the peak, I wonder how strong I can become?'
This set a wave of desire coursing through her veins, as she felt her previous resolve in becoming an expert become even firmer.
Li Fen continued her cultivation alongside training Zephyr Wind and her newest Martial Arts Technique Iron Bull Fist.
Wang Jian also continued to visit now and then.
Like this weeks turned into months, before a year has finally passed. And now the day has come for the highly anticipated Kingdom's Annual Talent Testing to arrive.
