The crowds attention became immediately drawn to Hui Bai as a result of his contrasting temperament.
Compared to the other nervous children, Hui Bai came across as calm and assured, seemingly with no worries about the results of his potential.
"Hmm. Is he a noble or something? How else would he be confident." Someone in the crowd said.
"No he should be, I saw him walking in with a bunch of commoners, and look at his clothes, they are to ordinary a Noble would never go out wearing something like that. After all Nobles love showing the difference between a us commoners and them, no way one would disguise as one of us." A man said.
"Hmph. He's just a commoner trying to get some attention, let's see if he can maintain that look when his talent is announced." A richly dressed boy said.
The crowd didn't need to wait long for the results of Hui Bai's test, but the words announced caused a great commotion.
"High talent, he can reach the Master Rank in the future and has a slim chance of becoming a Grandmaster ranked Warrior in the future!" The man said, his voice trembling a bit showing his shock.
The results of Hui Bai's test caused the crowd to quiet down for a moment, before it suddenly burst into cheers and applause.
The all stemmed from the fact that Hui Bai was a commoner who's talent was as good as the best talents among nobles, so it was no wonder that a crowd which was mostly built from people who have a similar origin to Hui Bai would act this way.
Only the Nobles stood still not applauding Hui Bai at all, instead scowls filled their faces, each feeling displeased at the fact that a commoner took the limelight of them.
Most Nobles were filled with a sense of superiority to Commoners, every Annual Talent Testing they would participate to mainly show off and display the difference between them and the lower class.
The Annual Testing was mainly for Academies to be aided in scouting for Talents, some Sects also participate. However, they also accept admissions yearly, and a child can participate to see if they qualify in going to the Academy. Most Nobles here are already accepted by an Academy, and are just here to make a name for themselves, whilst also putting the Commoners in their place.
Now, though Hui Bai put a clear wrench in their plans as all of the Nobles present here at the moment, Talents aren't even comparable to his! This doesn't mean there are no Nobles as talented as Hui Bai, but that the ones who come here are usually the mid or low level Talents for Nobles, the talented ones are usually to arrogant and proud to participate just for the aim of showing off.
Hui Bai stood there frozen with disbelief, he couldn't maintain his composure at all, after all even in his wildest dreams he wouldn't have anticipated such a result.
In such low level Kingdom like this one, Master Ranked Warriors are viewed as elite, peak level experts and Grand Master ranked Warriors are held in an even higher regard, with there only being a few within the Kingdom. Hearing that he even has a chance, despite it being slim one of becoming a Grand Master Warrior has made Hui Bai feel as if this was a dream.
"Alright, boy your results are out, you can go down now to your parents. By the way I would recommend to stick local and go the Guang Academy. They would nurture a talent like you who originated from a ordinary background the best." The man said silently to Hui Bai.
Hui Bai nodded, as he walked back under the gazes of the crowd back to his Family.
Uncle Cheng and Hui Bingweng stood still with shock.
"Damn, is this really happening, is our Young Bai truly that talented?" A man who resembled an older version of Hui Bai said.
He was Hui Bai's Father, Hui Mingyu. He also accompanied them on the Hunting Trip, and is her Fathers second older brother apart from Uncle Cheng. He is the middle child in the Hui Family, with her Father being the youngest and Uncle Cheng the oldest.
This Uncle of hers was the one whom she had seen the most until Uncle Cheng returned and ended up visiting her the most frequently, as his child Hui Bai was of a similar age to her, they would often visit him and she would be left to play with Hui Bai.
Though 'playing' was a strong word, as it was mostly her trying to act as a normal child, and Hui Bai crawling around aimlessly.
Still the frequency of their visits, ended up making Hui Bai view her as his younger sister, even as a child he seems protective of her.
At the moment Hui Mingyu was in complete and utter amazement, the thoughts, 'Is this really my son? Is my son truly that talented?'
Hui Bai quickly arrived in front of his Dad, Hui Mingyu who now recovered from his shock, now exhibited the proudness a Father would have of their son when they've made an accomplishment, he couldn't be any happier.
"Ah! Son, I knew you were something special the moment you came out of your Mothers womb!" Hui Mingyu said, beginning to continuously say that he expected this all along and he knew he was meant for greatness.
Hui Bai just stood there awkwardly whilst listening to his Father, he was still in a state of disbelief, unable to believe what had happened.
The other boys, instead of being put off by Hui Bai's shocking talent, were even more reinvigorated about the test.
So, they went up to get their potential tested one after another, and each one including the confident boy, all had above average talent.
Although no were near comparable to Hui Bai, each of them still felt greatly proud, as they knew that they pursue the path of a Warrior and at the very least reach the level of Uncle Cheng, who they all viewed as amazing.
To them even reaching the Journeyman Rank was good enough for them.
The man who was conducting the tests himself felt a bit amazed that the group of boys seemingly originated from the same group.
'To have a high level talent and a bunch of above average level talents in a poor place is very rare, it looks like the Guang Academy should do their best to rope them in, I'm sure the high level will follow his friends and we need talents at this moment, we have been lagging behind the other Top Academies lately.' He thought.
The representatives of the Academies have already noticed this factor and took note of it, after the Testing has finished, they for sure are going to do all they can take to rope in Hui Bai.
Finally, it was now Li Fens turn. Upon walking up to be Tested, the crowds attention became immediately fixed on Li Fen.
It was hard to ignore Li Fen even if they tried, white hair, silver eyes and unmatched beauty.
Her exotic appearance combined with the majestic aura unconsciously exuded by her bloodline, Li Fen seemed as to resemble a deity that has descended from heavens.
Though at the moment she was a child, it was clear to all that she would be an unmatched beauty in the future.
"Ahh... who's that? I've never heard of someone with that eye and hair colour before!" Exclaimed a man.
"Yes, I'm sure there is no Noble with such characteristics within the Kingdom, if there was they definitely wouldn't go unnoticed within the Kingdom!" Voiced a lavishly dressed man.
"Could she be from a Noble from a foreign Kingdom? It's not the first time they have done something like this..." A man questioned.
As the crowd clamoured about Li Fens identify, she calmly walked up to the first potential testing station, the one for Warriors.
The man upon looking into Li Fens silver eyes felt the sudden sensation as if he was staring into the eyes of a beast, and subconsciously looked away unable to maintain eye contact.
Noticing his action the man couldn't help but think in his head that he overreacted, and went back to carrying out the test for Li Fen.
Viewing Li Fens extraordinary demeanour, the man assumed that she would surely have an excellent result, but upon injecting the essence from the orb into her, Li Fens body seemed to respond as if she didn't react to it at all and nothing happened.
Feeling that the test result may be wrong, he tried again but the same outcome occurred, leading to the man saying with a dull tone, "Null talent. No response at all to essence, the result is she has no future as a Warrior and cannot cultivate."
This caused the crowd to feel a sense of confusion, 'No talent at all? Does that mean the extraordinary looking girl is a wastrel?'
Some in the crowd couldn't help but say, "Looks like she's just all looks, no talent. Well I'm sure when she is grown up that face of hers will look after her, but in reality she just is ordinary."
"Yeah looks like there should be no surprises left for today, with that Hui Bai kid coming up previously I thought we were in for another shocking talent, but it looks like she's just trash." A Noble Lady said, feeling resentful at Li Fen for being more beautiful than her daughter.
Hui Bingweng and Uncle Cheng stared in disappointment, as they felt a pang of sorrow that Li Fen won't be able to cultivate in the future.
"Ah, it's alright, Little Chen doesn't need to cultivate to promote a future for herself. We will always ensure she receives our full support in the future." Uncle Cheng said reassuringly.
In truth this was what Hui Bingweng was worried about, in this World strength means everything and without it you would be leaving your fate in the hands of the strong.
Ever since Li Fen's sudden transformation he knew that she would never be able to live an ordinary life, Li Fens appearance alone can cause her great trouble in the future as being beautiful wasn't always a good thing, especially if you have no background.
This was why he desired for Li Fen to have the potential to protect herself, as having no strength alongside her appearance in the future would cause great trouble, Nobles were known for kidnapping Commoners with beauty and if Li Fen doesn't have the strength to protect herself then she will always be in danger.
"I will do my best to protect her, that is all I can do." Hui Bingweng said with determination, looking at his cute daughter he knew that even though his strength wasn't considered much in the Kingdom, he would still put his life on the line to ensure her safety.
Some men in the crowd already stared at Li Fen greedily, believing Li Fen is an easy target to make money. Such a beautiful child who would grow into a top tier beauty within the future would be worth a great deal, this already caused some of the more shady Nobles and cultivators who came from unknown origins to already eye her as a fat sheep.
However, contrary to the expectations of the crowd that Li Fen would break down upon hearing the news of her having no talent at all in cultivation, her expression was the same as before, completely unperturbed.
This made the crowd feel a pang of confusion.
'Shouldn't you be upset over having no talent whatsoever? Even the trashiest of commoners have better talent that what you shown...' they were thinking.
Li Fen just strolled over to the second testing station, this one for Mages and said, "Isn't it time to complete this test now?"
Hearing Li Fens voice for the first time the crowd stilled for a moment, even though Li Fen still sounded childish, her voice was soft and appealing.
The man who was about to dismiss Li Fen upon announcing her results, realised his error and moved on with Li Fen onto the next.
"Ah she can't have the potential to be a Mage right?" Someone said in wonder.
This caused the crowd to quiet down and observe the results of Li Fen once again, as the amount of people who have the potential to be a Mage is simply to rare. As in today only a few people had Mage potential, and there potential was only average and below average, nothing worth mentioning about but this was still considered good in this yearly testing. Most of the people who have the talent to become a Mage are Nobles, who have already been tested beforehand, so they don't usually show up to the Potential Testing, as they would already be at an Academy.
So seeing someone with the talent to become a Mage was rare, especially High Level Talents, the Guang Academy had been struggling lately as a result of not having talented Mages as students in comparison to the other top academies, who have multiple high level talents and prodigies. In comparison the Guang Academy only has one high level talent, with there being no prodigies present at all and this high level talent was apart of the Wang Clan themselves, so they were truly pitiful when it is compared to the other Academies.
"I think she's just bluffing, probably embarrassed about how bad her potential is..." Mumbled a boy.
"Yeah, I agree. No way I believe that such a trash can have talent as a Mage." Said another boy.
Voices of agreement sounded, as those bitter about their own talent quickly found somewhere to vent, a person who has even worse talent than them and at the same time appears to be a Noble, which better target can they have?
Hui Bai clenched his fists in response to their comments, as he felt angered about his cousin being insulted like that.
The boys around him did the same, as they to felt annoyed at other people taunting Li Fen like that. Ever since the hunting trip they already considered Li Fen a close friend, and they gained an even more favourable opinion of her after the words she said to them back in the Wagon, so they all feel annoyed at the comments directed at Li Fen.
Though Li Fen at this moment in time acted as if she couldn't hear anything being said about her at all, as she stepped towards the Mages test.
In comparison to the Warrior one, the Mage one was a bit more complex and the tool required was far more expensive.
"Just place your hand on the orb. It will reach out to your soul, just close your eyes and calmly allow it to interact with your soul" the man said.
In comparison to the Warrior test, the Mages test testing object would use consciousness to interact with your soul, by doing this if can view if your suitable in cultivating the soul and at the same time can view your attributes.
As Li Fen closed her eyes and put her hand on the orb she stood silently for a few minutes.
Seeing no reaction the crowd figured she failed, and once again was a null talent.
"Seems to be another failure..." a guy was about to voice out, but at that time a blinding light emerged out of the orb, as the man who was previously calm became astounded.
"It can't be... is that what I think it is?" Said the man in wonder.
