Chapter 18 - Chapter 16 - The Arrival of a Prodigy

After the arrival of the blinding light, everybody eyes were glued to the orb, trying to figure out the cause of such a commotion.

"Could it be she has high level talent?" A commoner ignorantly said.

To most people in the crowd they have never even seen the reaction from the orb to someone with above average talent before therefore it caused most of them to assume that this is the usual reaction the orb will have to a high level Mage Talent.

However, the nobles in the crowd knew better, and the reaction from the orb to Li Fen was not from a normal high level talent.

A smart looking Noble in the crowd squinted his eyes at Li Fen as he mumbled, "I guess our Kingdom has given birth to another prodigy, who would have thought that she would emerge from the one area in the Kingdom everyone neglected. It looks like the Guang Academy is in luck this time..."

A few other more knowledgable nobles in the crowd had similar reactions to the smart Noble, as they silently sent a message to their superiors.

Sat in an inconspicuous corner watching the results of the talent test a handsome youth stared smilingly at Li Fen, "I knew you were going to be talented, but it seemed even I underestimated you."

Wang Guanyu thought back to when he met Li Fen, soon after he saw her unique appearance and discovered her Father was Hui Bingweng, he knew the cause of the matter wasn't so simple. Such drastic change in appearance must have a cause, and he was willing to bet it was due to a bloodline.

A effects which a bloodline has towards someone isn't very noticeable accept the slight appearance change, so it is very easy to be looked over.

This was the main reason it wasn't discovered at all, even under the investigations of the Mages who were curious to discover the cause of Li Fens sudden change couldn't find anything, because bloodlines within this Kingdom was so rare. With it even being more uncommon than the Talent to become a Mage.

Wang Guanyu laughed delightfully and called a servant and said, "This is the chance the Guang's Academy has been looking for, they have been suppressed far to long by the other Academies. Tell those old fogies to make sure to not mistakenly treat her like the other commoners, a person with that much talent cannot be controlled. My Younger Brother has already began to develop a friendship with, and by bringing her cousin into the Academy alongside her, she will become even more attached in the future, it only be a matter of time before the Wang Clan will rise."

The servant nodded in understanding as he hurried off.

"Ah, Li Fen don't disappoint me. With you my ambition of tearing down the unchangeable position which the four leading has in this Kingdom will be realised sooner than I thought." Wang Guanyu said.

Li Fen stood silently as everyone stared at her in awe, the man beside her was shivering in amazement as he stared at the results.

"A four element prodigy! Fire, Air, Earth and the Light element. Each having a good affinity level, with the Light element being excellent." he shouted in excitement.

The crowd fell silent in shock, it was not at Li Fens amount of attributes, but her possession of the Light Element.

Any Mage even with an ordinary level of Light Element would be highly valued, that is because they are considered the best healers, capable of restoring limbs and reviving people on the brink of death.

A Mage with the Light Element is always considered an important asset, however the shocking thing now was that Li Fen was a prodigy level talent with the Light Element!

There are a few prodigies within the Kingdom, with some even having better talent than Li Fen, but there is no one similar to Li Fen who has an excellent light affinity in the Kingdom.

The value of such a prodigy in the future is endless, as the stronger Li Fen gets, the benefits she brings to the Kingdom will soar. A strong light Mage can greatly increase the power of a Kingdoms mages and warriors, not only this but they can even extend a persons lifespan which is especially tempting to Nobles. Therefore, the talent Li Fen displayed alone would make her the most desired asset in the Kingdom.

'Zhang Wei I thought you were only going to make me the level of an ordinary genius?' Li Fen thought.

After all, what all of this prodigy nonsense, if she's supposed to be an ordinary genius.

'I did lower your talent by a fair amount, but this Kingdom has low expectations on what is deemed as a prodigy. In any of the four Kingdoms you would be considered at most a bit below average, and would only be slightly valued because of your light element.' Zhang Wei said disdainfully towards the Kingdom's standards for a 'prodigy'.

'Why the light element then?' She thought.

'You will find out soon enough, the light element is far more powerful than the people of this World now makes it out to be. Now they are relegated as strong healers, but back then they were one of the major contributions in the Devils defeat.' Zhang Wei answered.

Listening to Zhang Wei, Li Fen decided to follow the Dragons advice for now, everything he has been doing was set out to provide the best benefits for her. And if the Light element was as strong as he said, Li Fen was eager in increasing her understanding of the light element.

After the man voiced Li Fens talent, the various representatives of the academy seemed to not be able to hold it in any longer.

Normally, it is a common courtesy to wait until the end in recruiting the talents they desired, and even when Hui Bai's high talent was announced they held on to wait until the end. However, after Li Fens appearance this was broken, as all of them became desperate to bring Li Fen into their academies.

"Hey girl, why don't you join Riluo Academy! I assure you that we will put in all of our resources into training you to the best of our ability." A middle aged man smilingly said.

The other representatives not wanting to lose out to the middle aged man at all, began voicing their own academies and their own respective offers.

Each one of them listed especially tempting conditions, but the one with the best offer of them all was the Royal Academy!

Upon announcing their name everyone felt shocked, as this was the best Academy within the Kingdom.

Li Fen too felt incredibly enticed by their offer, but Zhang Wei suddenly voiced in her mind, 'Wait kid, I sense something which is valuable to you located in the City. I think that this place has some interesting secret that will allow your bloodline to ascend to a new level.'

Upon hearing Zhang Wei's offer she paused, which caused the Royal Academy representative who was previously assured that she would accept his offer immediately felt worried.

As he was about to make an improved offer, a majestic looking middle aged man suddenly made an appearance causing everyone present to feel a pressure descend upon them.

"Ah! Apologies for being late Young One, but don't make a decision until you hear the our Guang Academy's offer!" He said.

A person in the crowd suddenly said, "Thats the Guang Academies Principle, Li Jie! He is one of the strongest experts in the Kingdom and is good friends with the Wangs clan City Lord!"

Hearing that the crowd looked at the Middle Aged man in awe as a sense of veneration filled their hearts. No matter who it was, everybody looked up to people with strength!

The Royal Academy representative who noticed that everyone's attention has left him, grew angry as he said, "Don't take things to far Li Jie! Even you can't interfere in our Royal Academies matters."

Others present may be fearful of Li Jie, but not the Royal Academies representative as he had the behemoth which was the Royal Family behind him.

"Hmph. So everyone here isn't allowed to make their own offers to this Young Girl apart from you? Then wouldn't this whole thing be pointless if your Royal Academy can be the only one who can invite talents into their own Academy!" Li Jie scoffed causing the Royal Academies representative to grow red in anger.

However, the Royal Academies representative didn't continue to make a fuss, as he knew that at the moment he was no match for Li Jie so there was no point in angering him.

'Just you wait Li Jie, I'd like to see you remain so arrogant once the Wang Clan is destroyed.' He snickered inwardly.

"Girl, I'd like to offer you conditions which is only worthy of a genius such as yourself. Unlike the other top academies we don't have any prodigies present in our Guang Family, but I don't believe our resources lose out to theirs by that much, and I can promise you that if you enter our Academy, then you will become the focus of the Academies nurturing! This is something which the others cannot offer." Li Jie said persuasively.

Hearing this the crowd sucked in a deep breath, after all this was definitely something Academy can promise after all they all have their own prodigies in their Academies, each having their own pride. Light element all not they won't dare to put all of their resources and effort into Li Fen.

However, not many knew that at this moment in the time the main key to her decision was the Dragon, Zhang Wei!

'Accept his offer, I got a feeling that whatever I discovered is related to the Guang Academy! If we can find it, it will bring countless benefits. Not to mention it doesn't really matter were you being to learn your basics as a Mage, as that is roughly the same in every Academy, it is the legacies and knowledge they provide in further cultivation that truly matters. But, you don't have to worry about this, as I can provide you with far better techniques in the future.' The Dragon said assuringly, to him a chance of improving Li Fens bloodline was something which relied on luck to find, techniques in comparison were easily obtainable.

Though at this moment Li Jie thought that Li Fen was still indecisive and used his final means of persuasion, "Ah also the boy you came with who is your cousin I believe? And the other boys who came with you have also received an invitation to our Academy similar to you!"

Upon hearing this the other representatives faces changed dramatically as they stared at the crafty fox old Li Jie with a look of defeat.

Exactly as they thought Li Fen who was previously indecisive nodded. To Li Fen being able to attend a school with the familiar faces of Hui Bai and the boys was a bonus. Her true target was what the Dragon mentioned, alongside to the fact that the Guang Academy wasn't to far away from her parents, she felt there was no need to leave to the Royal Academy, as the conditions there probably wasn't that much better anyways and like the Dragon said she truly only needed to create a foundation for herself as a Mage, and not the legacies which the Academies provide.

Seeing Li Fen finally agreed to his offer, a sense of victory filled Li Jie as the Royal Academy Representative left in defeat, knowing he lost this time.

After Li Fen was successfully invited to the Guang Academy, the representatives of the academies dispersed and the talent testing of the children continued.

By the end of the day when the testing finally finished, the children who was selected by the Academies were delighted whilst the ones destined to not join one left dejectedly.

Though there was one thing which didn't leave the minds of all those who were present, and that was a prodigy levelled Mage of the Light Element was born.
