The next day, Li Fen and the group left the City Lord's mansion and was brought to a residence within the Upper District of the City.
Wang Gang informed them that this was a gift from himself to Hui Bingweng and the other boys families.
Hui Bingweng did attempt to refute the City Lord, believing that this was to valuable of an offering from Wang Gang, with it not feeling right to accept something which they haven't earned. However, Wang Gang insisted for them to take ownership of the houses with the excuse that Li Fen will pay him back through her contributions to the Guang Academy.
After discovering Wang Gang's insistence about the matter, Hui Bingweng and the others just decided to accept his offering, putting the favour in the back of their minds, deciding that they will find an opportunity to repay the City Lord's favour today.
Following that event, the locations for the families to settle whilst Li Fen and the others were studying in the Guang Academy was decided, both herself, Hui Bai and the other boys separated from their parents, finally moving into the Guang Academy.
Despite visiting virtually every area of the City, enabling her to view many impressive structures, she would have to describe the Academy being the most luxurious she has seen, with only the City Lords mansion being the one which topped it.
The building was large, almost as large as the City's Office Building, the Building had multiple entrances with pathways leading to other areas of the Academy showing just how big of a scale the Academy was on.
Academies would bring in Children at around six or seven, however the real training will begin when a Child is age ten. Within these initial few years of the Academy, a child was told to mainly practice building their cultivation and laying a foundation for themselves, by learning basic cultivation knowledge from the teachers.
The Academy also will have an additional expectation for a child's cultivation level, as they expect a child should be at the be very least a fourth Rank Apprentice by ten years old. An Academy may even discard students who haven't even achieved such a feat, despite accepting them from their results in the Talent Test.
To Li Fen though she has long began cultivating, thus passing this requirement was no challenge to her, however to the other children this laid a great pressure which weighs heavily on their minds.
This was the first target which the Academies expected of their Students, the idea of it was to show if a child is suitable for cultivation, if a child cannot even achieve such a level despite appearing to have the talent to do so then why would they accept such a person into their Academies? To the Noble clans failing to achieve at least a rank three apprentice cultivation at ten years old even with the Academies nurturing was a failure which would be a waste of their resources to continue spending their efforts to cultivate.
It will also allow the children with less talent but are far more hardworking to re apply in hopes of there being a chance for their efforts in being realised. This would fill up the gaps of the children who are kicked out of the Academies and bring in people who clearly have a more suitable mindset for cultivation.
The silent competition led to all children feeling tense about the possibility of failure in achieving the requirements set by the Academy. All of the children know full well that they are competing with others who desperately desire their spot in the Academy, especially the ones with the lowest talent among the group.
However, Li Fen, Hui Bai and the other boys outwardly didn't seem worried at all about the test proposed by the Academy. For Li Fen she has long achieved such a result in her cultivation, and the other boys possess great self-confidence in their own talent and commitment in becoming a powerful Warrior.
Before the they knew about their potential, the only thing they were concerned about was whether their talent is good enough to get into an Academy.
Now being informed that their talent is even above the standard, especially for Hui Bai, they had no worries about achieving such a result as this was something they dreamt about since hearing the stories about the great deeds Warriors accomplished.
Having achieved beyond what they hoped for in terms of talent, how could they let such news to deter them from becoming a Warrior? As long as they remain hardworking, and put in the efforts into their cultivation, each and everyone feel they could achieve such a target set by the Academy.
You have to remember children, especially those in a small Kingdom wouldn't aim in cultivating as pure essence in comparison to Li Fen. This would make their cultivation speed swifter in the beginning at the cost of potential and power, despite Li Fen possessing great talent, her cultivation speed has been slowed down as a result of her arduous refinement in increasing the purity of her essence.
Zhang Wei said in the future, the stronger her Silver Dragon Bloodline then the quicker she will be able to cultivate, so she should aim to find objects which can increase the purity of her bloodline or the Academy may find it suspicious that her cultivation speed may not keep up with the Prodigies in the other Academies.
This can remain un detected for now as a result of her head start in cultivation, however at some point she should find a means to improve her bloodlines purity, so her cultivation speed can compare to those prodigies.
Li Fen, Hui Bai and the boys were soon led to the dormitories of the Academy. The guide quickly explained that in the Academy each person would be allocated into a room to share with three others within their own age group. This was in an effort to promote and emphasise team work, additionally allowing the children to form bonds with others their age. There was also a cafeteria placed in an area every few blocks between the dorms that would offer food three times a day free of charge.
This was were she was split up from Hui Bai and the boys, within the Academy her dorm mates would remain unchanged in the future unless an unexpected issue arrived, so the dormitories were split into two gender groups, she would be joining a dorm with three other girls who are starting within the same year as her.
As she was led through the pathway to the female section dorms she passed many students on the way there.
The student were of various ages, seemingly growing younger the closer she got to the dorm. Many of them pointed and stared at her upon noticing her white hair, she seemed to create an immediate sensation as word has long travelled out of the arrival of a prodigy with white hair and silver eyes joining the Guang Academy.
It was especially promoted by the Guang Academy itself, as propaganda and to raise the morale of the students, letting them know that their days of being suppressed by the other Academies as a result of not having a prodigy level talent was over.
Most of the students looked at her with gazes of curiosity and admiration, however some stared at her with oblivious hostility, with looks of envy and jealously.
Li Fen chuckled silently at such reactions, she knew full well it was impossible to be liked by everyone just because of having some talent.
She was bound to offend some people, especially the Nobles who were used to being in the limelight, whereas some may feel that a prodigy level talent will bring a great deal of glory to the Academy, there are others who will feel that she didn't deserve such praise and were envious that she was the focus of attention.
Li Fen wasn't a fool to believe that her time would be smooth sailing within the Academy such because they valued her a great deal, she knew that there were bad characters who were likely in the shadows plotting against her, this was a world based on strength alone, such a world wouldn't be peaceful.
No matter what route she takes it will be filled with danger, but Li she knew it was best to gain as much strength in the quickest time possible. Concealing her talents and hiding herself would not gain such a result, it would just cause others to look down on her and provoke her which would end up causing even more trouble, it was best to give herself a high status to protect herself in the form of a talented Light Mage, in that way she can receive the most benefits in the shortest time possible.
Suddenly the person escorting he stopped indicating their arrival.
"The dorm you will been staying in has been allocated here, your girls you will be partnered up with have already been waiting inside for the past day, they should be expecting you." Following his short speech, the man escorting her left Li Fen standing at the door alone.
Astonished at how quickly the man left, Li Fen slowly walked up to the door giving it a light knock.
Standing still for a moment, Li Fen wondered if the man was incorrect about their being anyone even in the dorm room, but upon having such thoughts she promptly heard hurried footsteps approaching the door.
Quickly the sound of unlocking was heard as the door opened, leaving Li Fen the sight of a young girl around her age standing in front of her.
Observing the young girl, she has a small charming face alongside pigtails. The girl was also dressed with clearly expensive looking, clothing indicating that she was likely a noble.
Noticing Li Fens white hair and silver the eyes, the little girl eyes glowed in excitement as she pulled her into the room.
"Ahhh! They said you were going to be our dorm mate but I didn't think you were so cute, how did you even do your hair, it is so smooth?" The little girl spoke quickly, she spoke so fast that Li Fen felt a sudden head ache at the speed at which she talked.
As she was about to untangle herself from the girls clutches, another young girl appeared and said, "Yan Chunhua your frightening our new room mate, can't you see how white her face is your going to make her run away!"
Yan Chunhua realising that she may have been a bit over the top, sheepishly said, "Ah, I apologies for being a bit to dramatic. It's just that I've never seen such beautiful hair before and I've been to all sorts of noble banquets."
"It's alright, I'm used to it anyways. Being brought up in a small Town I was a constant oddity for the people there." Replied Li Fen smilingly.
Upon hearing Li Fen's apparent background, the girl in the background who from the way she was dressed seemed to be a commoner said, "Really? I wouldn't have thought you were brought up in such a poor household, you look exactly like a pampered Young Miss brought up in a Noble Household! Anyways, my name is Xue Mingxia, as you already know this is Yan Chunhua and our final roommate is Wei Qiuyue which will be coming back soon."
Hearing the names of her newest roommate, Li Fen began conversing with the duo Xue Mingxia and Yan Chunhua.
Talking with them she found out as expected that Yan Chunhua belonged to a small Noble household whereas both Xue Mingxia and Wei Qiuyue are commoners.
The girls arriving the day before initially didn't know she was going to be paired with them, but upon discovering that the prodigy that has been talked about lately will be becoming their newest doom mate for the time spent within the Academy they felt extremely shocked and nervous of her arrival.
After some time has passed the final missing girl of the trio finally returned and was greeted by the sight of Li Fen talking to the other girls.
This girl was noticeably different to the other two, in comparison to them she seemed more cold and aloof. Resembling the type of person which heavily relies on themselves to achieve their goals.
Instead of the compassionate response from the other two girls, she merely nodded at her as she talked past and sat on her bed, closing her eyes to indicate she was entering meditation
Used to Wei Qiuyue actions, Yan Chunhua said, "Ah don't mind her she treats everyone like that, since her arrival, she has only spoken a few times. And one of those times was announcing her name at the request of a teacher."
Finding her interest sated, she found that Wei Qiuyue, Li Fen found herself intrigued by her unique behaviour. She felt that the girl must have had a compelling upbringing for her to act this way.
"How about we go to a lecture? It is not the time for a lecture on one of our elements, or yours but it is encouraged to go to not just classes belong to our attributes to develop our understanding on other elements to better protect ourselves from them. It also allows us to get used of the teaching format, and we got nothing else to do at the moment, so fancy going?" Xue Mingxia said.
Upon hearing Xue Mingxia suggestion, she immediately agreed. Wasn't this an opportunity to develop a foundation on all of her elements?
After all, this was one of her major targets in coming to an Academy was for, a foundation as a Mage was essential for ascending to the upper ranks, and this was a great step for her to begin becoming a full-fledged mage.
Xue Mingxia smiled at her proposal being accepted. The three of them then began to head off towards the direction of the first lecture within the Academy, a class on the Water Element!
