Li Fen was firm and she agreed to whatever the Dragon required of her, however despite agreeing to the Dragons proposal she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable about the unknown.
'I guess he seems quite happy', Li Fen thought as she sensed the Dragons emotions that were washing over her. Although the Dragon did not say anything, these emotions were of a pleasing nature, making Li Fen even more apprehensive.
'I did say we require a soul contract, but unfortunately, that cannot be made right now.' Zhang Wei said mildly complaining. The Dragon was clearly not paying attention at all to Li Fen.
'To even need a soul contract, we need you to at least be a Rank 1 Magus apprentice to obtain the minimum required mana, but considering your still stuck inside an infant body this may take a while.' He stated frankly.
Hearing this made Li Fen feel a mixture of emotions, partly she was relieved in not yet needing to sign the soul contract as she wished to know more about it before doing so. And another was slightly frustrated after all cultivation seemed to be the only source of entertainment for her who is now in this infant form and at the same time the earlier she begins cultivation, then the sooner she can return to her old world and also have the power to make her own choices.
However, if she wanted to even form the Soul Contract, she would be required to work hard enough to meet the needed mana requirement. 'So what age do children usually begin cultivating?' Li Fen asked anxiously as she wondered when she would even be able to form this contract with Zhang Wei.
At the moment Li Fen feels calmer and less wary of this soul contract, as she found that from the Dragons impatience it was likely he was not trying to trick her in any way and nothing unusual should happen with the forming of the soul contract. Both of them need each other in this long-road for revenge and reunion, Li Fen also knows that she needs Zhang Wei as without him she will greatly struggle in such a world where power reigns above all.
Li Fen was aware that was the path ahead of her was unique but exciting, as she has the opportunity in being able to control mystical powers which those on Earth wouldn't even dream of. This made Li Fen couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of cultivation and becoming a powerful figure within the future.
'If a kid starts cultivating early, then they would usually start at six years old, but in general, they are usually around eight years old.' Zhang Wei said in a mocking tone as Li Fen was once again thrown into despair about the thought of waiting another six years doing nothing at all, this simply caused her anger once again to flare for the Dragon. She felt that her dislike for the guy hasn't disappeared at all.
'Do I seriously need to wait another six years to cultivate, what the hell am I going to do in this time?' Li Fen aggressively interrogated the annoying Dragon. Li Fen was an impatient girl by nature, she hated sitting around and doing nothing and now the stupid Dragon told her she had to wait another six years doing nothing?
'Come on it's not too bad', the Dragon said his mocking tone not disappearing in the slightest, as he freely continued to mock Li Fen's current feelings.
'Humph. You must be a real catch with woman, I believe that with such character you must have remained single until you died.' Li Fen said with dissatisfaction. Ever since she died, she had to experience the Dragons mocking tone to describe her situation, this is no sympathy for the fairer sex at all.
'Just so you know, I was a catch to all women back in the day. I'm sure if you knew me back then, you'd swoon over my majestic appearance' Zhang Wei said smugly causing her to snort in disgust.
'I'm sure you were!' Li Fen replied with a clear refusal that such an annoying guy could ever be a 'catch' for anyone other than his right hand.
'Well, look at the bright side, for the next two years I can admire your mother! I haven't even seen a woman in over four thousand years, never mind such a beauty' Zhang Wei said lustfully causing Li Fen the urge to punch the guy even more.
'That's our mother! And anyway, I thought you were a Dragon, why are you attracted to human women?' Replied Li Fen wondering how Zhang Wei who originates from a completely different species feels attracted towards a human.
'Well, I guess this is no secret but I was once human after all! This was before I received the inheritance of the Silver Dragon, which turned me into one with a fairly high purity grade bloodline.' Answered the Dragon.
Hearing it was possible to be turned from a human to a beast was something that completely stunned Li Fen. How can such a thing make sense? A sense of fear aroused within Li Fen at the possibility that there is nothing unchangeable here, not even a person's gender and race!
Another point was how easily the Dragon answered any questions she had, no matter how personal it was or uncomfortable it was, it seemed as if he would answer any question which was based on the world around them.
This made Li Fen feel a slight pang of guilt towards the Dragon because despite showing such openness towards her she still felt greatly prejudiced toward Zhang Wei, with her feeling a sense of dislike towards him no matter what he says!
The Dragon claimed that both the car and the lightning bolt were not caused him, no matter how far fetched it seems, Li Fen believes that an individual is innocent until proven guilty and it is slightly unfair of her to blame the Dragon without any evidence.
Zhang Wei was also her pillar in the world, the one which she is relying on to learn about her current situation and the World she was now living in, she was also previously worried about how she could even survive in such a World before the Dragon stepped forward to help her.
But, even when Zhang Wei answered all of her questions she couldn't help but gnash her teeth in anger at the Dragon's haughtiness and arrogance when talking to her. The arrogance within his voice, made Li Fen felt like she wanted to give him a good thrashing. After all, Li Fen wasn't a gentle girl, to begin with, and she hated when people looked down on her like they were above her.
A sigh escaped the infants' lips, slightly stirring the sleeping Mother allowing another approving sound to hear within Li Fens' mind causing her once again to wash away any feelings of guilt away, replacing it once again with anger. Such a shameless Dragon!
Although she felt slightly interested at the thought of a human turning to a beast, now was not the time to dwell on such matters.
'Are the other magical beasts in the world like Dragons?' Li Fen asked as she thought things through and thought that surely Dragons must not be the only type of beast in the World.
However, although this was a question Li Fen asked with a sense of seriousness, it sounded like a silly question to Zhang Wei who replied, 'Of course, they are everywhere! Although most are not as intelligent or powerful as Dragons, they populate the whole World. Some may be tamed or some are domesticated, but the most majority live in the Forests, Mountains and Ocean.'
Li Fen nodded in understanding of the concept, as it sounded exactly just like her old world with animals. However, she now started to think are all beasts in the world are of magical nature similar to Dragons, or are there non-magical beasts in this world?' Li Fen wanted to ask such a question but decided to let Zhang Wei finish his answer first.
'Of course, beats which have been domesticated tend to be typically weaker than the ones roaming in the wild. If you are strong enough, you can force a magical beast to serve you. Most are used as a mount, guard dog or some other similar duty of the sort. There are a lot more magical beasts here in the World than the other races though.'
'So, then are all beasts in this world Magical Beasts?' Li Fen asked as she knew that Zhang Wei was finished with his introduction.
However, the next wave of feelings she thought from Zhang Wei made her even angrier to the Dragon. He was pitying her for being so dumb, what an annoying jerk! But, even if Li Fen felt angry she still decided to hold back her feelings, as is still relying on Zhang Wei to describe the world to her.
'No the only beasts which are classified as a Magical Beast in this world are ones who can cultivate themselves.' Zhang Wei replied, showing that again even though he still 'pitied' Li Fen he still provided a satisfactory reply to her question.
'So, then every beast can become a magical beast if they learn to cultivate, but it just rarely happens as they are to dumb to reply.' Li Fen thought as she felt it made sense.
Li Fen felt cultivation was a very interesting subject, as she thought it was something which all living creatures are capable of doing, but it seemed whilst some are talented others are not. Some knew how to cultivate, whilst others did not or a few may not even care.
Nevertheless, Li Fen was still incapable of cultivating, so she regained her focus to pay attention to Zhang Wei.
'Wild magical beasts are usually hunted by the other races' Zhang Wei continued his explanation of beasts.
'A Human's and other races cultivation is gathered within an organ, whilst magical beasts gather the entirety of their cultivation into a core which is located in one of the vital areas of the Beast, which is usually near the Heart or inside their Head. A beasts natural advantage because of this is unlike the other races who tend to specialise in one form of cultivation, the beasts can do both. Although limited in the ways of Mages due to their intelligence, some beasts like Dragons are both specialise in Warrior and Mage types of cultivation, added onto their natural strong physiques, it is even more strengthened as they progress in both cultivations causing them in being able to use Magic and their physical bodies are just as strong and are not weak at all compared to Warriors of the same level. Although the other races do have those who specialise in both paths of cultivation due to a great deal of talent, it is rare and more common in beasts as a result of their naturally strong physiques. Though their cultivation path as a Magus is often crude, and basic as a result of their limited intelligence.'
Li Fen nodded again as she felt that all of the information Zhang Wei is telling her is very valuable.
'The beast's core purpose is to store all of the essences they have absorbed within it, the core also nourishes the body of the beast over time. As mentioned a beast is hunted by humans, as not only is the materials on their body very valuable to Warriors and Mages alike, but the core stored within their body also contains pure essence which is useful for cultivation. Magical beasts are also split into the same levels as the other races, but typically on the same level they are stronger and an individual from another race would require far purer essence in being able to defeat a beast of the same level.'
It seems that hunting beasts do seem very profitable but she is nowhere near silly enough to go hunting for them anytime soon. But, hearing Zhang Wei finished his sentence with another self-satisfied tone she couldn't help but say.
'It seems death is a very common occurrence in this world' Thinking about the other races hunting the beasts for resources, having their conflicts between each other and even the war with the Demons a long time ago couldn't help but make Li Fen feel a pang of sorrow on thinking about her future within such a World.
She had grown up in a world where murder is frowned upon, but to survive in such a world, there was no doubt she would have to kill people in the future.
Just the list of people Zhang Wei wants her to take revenge on in the future are those she has promised to kill, never mind the ones who step in her path for her to get the strength to do it.
The thought alone made her feel slightly repulsed. Killing shouldn't be a big deal to her, but the thought of hacking down other humans in her path, creating a pool of blood made her complexion pale and feeling of nausea swept over her.
The thought of blood splattering everywhere, the imagination of flesh being torn apart made her feel sick to the stomach. She has no interest in what it is like to kill someone.
'You need to forget all about your old world' Zhang Wei warmed, 'We have a goal to do, and do it you must not be soft.'
Li Fen knew that Zhang Wei was correct, thus she fortified her determination and knew that there was no way of going back. She knew that the slightest hesitation may end up causing her to lose her life, this would cause her to lose her only chance of being able to return to her old World and reunite with her family.
A sudden coldness appeared in Li Fen's eyes, 'I will never kill needlessly and refuse to slaughter innocents, but if anyone stands in my way I will kill them! If they stand in my way I will remove them, as not being prepared to kill a person would be preparing myself for death.'
'What will you do if family or friends betray you?' Zhang Wei asked, as his philosophy was that showing mercy would only result in injury later.
'Let them come, I will fight all who oppose me. But I will never touch someone who never went against me.' Li Fen thought with resolve.
'Good, I will now explain to you how to begin your cultivation' Zhang Wei said.
