Chapter 9 - Chapter 7 - Hunting Trip

Walking into the room Li Fen instantly found her Father laughing heartily beside four middle-aged men.

Observing the four aged men she found that two of them possessed a higher level of cultivation than her Father, whilst one was only one stage above with a similar situation to her Father regarding having no cultivation technique, the other was completely different, as his cultivation was at the beginning of the Journeyman Rank and the essence he possessed is much purer than both her Fathers and the other three.

Realising the situation, she found that this was the first actual Warrior she has seen in this World who possessed an actual cultivation technique, albeit a poor one with no chance of progressing much further in cultivation.

Though, in the Town that was still remarkably impressive as barely, anyone possessed a cultivation technique in the Town.

Most of the Town guards including her Father has some basic martial arts techniques and know-how to nourish their body with their cultivation, however, they still do not have access to any form of cultivation technique to support their cultivation, which would enable them to refine their essence, making it purer.

Therefore, the middle-aged man present must be a fairly important person within the Town.

This also made Li Fen a bit nervous as despite Zhang Wei assuring her that very few people could uncover her true cultivation, never mind the puny 'experts' in this small Kingdom.

Zhang Wei already informed her that within the Human territory it was split into four Empires, and each Empire had subsidiary powers under them which were the Kingdoms who were run independently by a Royal Family.

Though 'independent' were the Kingdoms in name, everyone knew who the true ruler was and they had no thoughts of even trying to gain complete control of their Kingdoms, as the Empires were simply just too powerful to do so!

Also, each Kingdom was currently under their respective Empires protection and without it, they would be immediately invaded by another Human Empire, or worse one of the other Races, thus each Kingdom paid a great deal of importance into serving their Empires.

The kingdoms themselves were also split into grades depending on the population and size of the Kingdom, which was small, medium and large.

Li Fen currently found herself in a small Kingdom which is considered the weakest.

Additionally, Zhang Wei said that it would require a top expert in one of the four Empires to see through her cultivation never mind a 'small Kingdom' such as this one, so you could clearly see how disdainful Zhang Wei was felt when Li Fen was worried about how a bottom level individual in a small Kingdom could see through her true cultivation level.

In Zhang Wei's eyes no one within this small Kingdom is worthy of his notice, never mind a small figure in the Kingdom itself. Zhang Wei doesn't even view the King of the Kingdom of any importance, never mind the middle-aged man standing beside her Father.

As the group noticed her appearance, they suddenly fixed their gazes upon her, Li Fen felt a bit worried at first but completely regained her calmness as she noticed no abnormal reactions from the middle-aged men occurred.

"Hmm. So this is your daughter eh, Little Brother Bingwen. Don't be shy girl, come here and show yourself to Uncle Cheng." A middle-aged man said with a gentle smile on his face.

Approaching slowly Li Fen stood in front of 'Uncle Cheng' with a suspicious look in her eyes as if to say who is this man? I have an Uncle?

The other middle-aged men chuckled at Hui Cheng's misfortune as one of them said, "Ah, Senior Brother it looks like the little fellow is about to run in the opposite direction if your smile gets any wider."

This caused another wave of laughter as Hui Cheng went red in embarrassment before he denounced, "Humph. It ain't my fault I was brought out of Town due to military matters, it even forced me to miss Little Fen's birth!"

An aggrieved expression appeared on Hui Cheng's face as he thought of all the time he missed with his favourite niece which he hasn't even met.

Seeing the look on Hui Cheng's face, Hui Bingweng patted his older brother on the back and said, "Ah, I'm sure once you get familiar with Little Fen that she'll warm up to you. Anyways, your son and the other fellows are waiting for their first hunting experience! Afterall ever since the Warrior testing hs announced they've suddenly become even more eager in training."

"Humph. The boy can wait, I need to ensure Little Fen views me as her favourite Uncle!" Hui Cheng declared loudly.

Upon hearing the duo arguing, Li Fen quickly realised that this was the Uncle she's never met. Since being born in this World, her parents would often mention this Uncle of hers, saying he had decent accomplishments in the Military and was even rewarded a cultivation manual for his contributions.

However, she has never met this Uncle of hers, due to him being called away for a Military expedition.

Though listening to their conversation, she suddenly heard them mentioned a 'Hunting Trip' and this made her eyes glow with excitement at the thought of leaving the boundaries of the Town for the first time in her life.

"Daddy! What hunting trip are you talking about? Is it to do with Magical Beasts? Can Li Fen come?" Li Fen spoke so quickly that Hui Bingweng took a while to process her words.

"Go with us on the Hunting Trip? We did plan to just go on the outskirts of the forest with the boys, so it won't be dangerous and will be Little Fen's first-time going outside the Town." Said Hui Bingweng.

"The boys are going! So why not Little Fen, and it even allows her to get familiar with her Uncle." Hui Cheng said delightfully realising it would be a good 'bonding' experience and a way to allow Li Fen to not be wary of him.

"Absolutely not!" Hui Ying said immediately.

Hearing her Mother, Li Fen suddenly adopted her 'puppy dog eyes' expression as she stared at her mother and said, "But, Mum. I only want to see the beautiful forest and fierce beasts described by the Adventurers! Please, let me go. Father said Hui Bai and his friends are going."

Hui Ying felt her determination wavering after seeing the look on her Daughters face and felt her resolve slipping.

"It is only the outskirts and Hui Cheng can deal with practically every beast in the forest apart from the ones located deep within the Forest, and they never wander out of their territory!" Said one of the middle-aged men.

"Fine, if Hui Bai and the boys go, so can she. But, I want you to keep her by your side at all times and do not allow her to go pick up any of the weapons!" Said Hui Ying adamantly.

"Hmm. That's fine, we'll be back before sunrise." Said Hui Bingweng, as he grabbed Li Fen's hand before they began to walk outside.

After exiting the shack Li Fen found there were four young boys outside, each seemingly being a few years older than her.

At the front of the boys was Hui Bai her cousin, whose little face was scrunched up in surprise at seeing Li Fen walking with his Father and Uncle.

"Is Little Sis Fen coming with us Uncle Bingweng?" Hui Bai asked, which caused the other three boys to turn their heads towards Li Fen.

"But, isn't she a girl?" Said one of the boys.

"Yeah, I isn't this a job meant for boys, why is she here?" One of the boys said grumpily.

"Listen, kid, there are both Male and Female Warriors, and one of the strongest Warriors in the Kingdom is a woman! And Little Fen has come to gain some experience similar to you lot, and I should remind you in the future don't possess that mindset, as you may find yourself being beaten before you can find out why!" Warned Uncle Cheng, but the boy scoffed and didn't take it into his heart, not believing that he could ever lose to a girl.

"Alright, boys let's go, we've already squandered enough time and need to make it back before dark." Said Hui Bingwen.

Followed by Hui Bingwen's words, the group headed off as they exited the Town through its gates before they began to head towards the Beast Forest.

Li Fen walked with a glint of anticipation in her eyes, as her thoughts were overcome with excitement, 'I wonder what the beasts in the World look like? I guess I will find out if the stories those adventurers were saying is the truth after all.'

Li Fen suddenly looked at the distant Forest in her view as she wondered if the beasts in the Forest were truly as 'fierce' as the adventures said they were.
