Chapter 43 - Shopping..

CHAPTER FOURTY-THREE ❤️

After shopping for a while. She decided to pick out things for Michael. Michael had the best outfits for work, but the clothes he wore at home were nonsense.

Desi started picking out dresses for him, he changed into most of them and they all fit perfectly well. They cleared up their bills. Desi wanted to go home already but Michael refused, saying that he wanted to visit his mother-in-law.

They went to buy groceries because they concluded that they would have lunch there. While they shopped, Desi found out a lot of things about Michael. His likes and dislikes. He found out that Michael hated fish. But Desi loved it. They concluded that they would go home and manage their likes and their dislikes.

The Burtler who was with them was totally forgotten and neglected. The only time he was remembered was when they wanted to dump another thing on him. At the end of the day, in the whole grocery store, their shopping cart was the fullest!

People wondered what this young couple was doing with all of those.

Michael and Desiree didn't care.

They drove straight to Desi's house. Vanessa was sleeping but she was awoken by the constant ringing of the door bell. She gave up and decided to know who it was. She opened up the door to see her daughter full of smiles. Well, together with a certain human being who was trying to so hard to mimick Desi's smile. It was one thing to know that Michael couldn't smile genuinely. He only knew how to smile wickedly.

Vanessa noticed how he was trying so hard to smile and returned the smile too. There! He released the fake smile. This was harder than running a business.

They walked into the house exchanging pleasantries forgetting the poor Burtler who carried the whole grocery they bought standing outside the door.

He was still standing there, because Young Master Kingston had slammed the door on him. Making it impossible for him to enter.

After a while, the door was opened again and Desi motioned for him to enter. Vanessa directed him to the Kitchen where he placed it.

Desi changed into some of the clothes she left at home before moving into Michael's house. While Michael took one of the home wears Desi bought for him and changed it in Desi's former room.

They had all agreed to prepare the meal together. On a second thought they decided to exclude madam Le grande.

Desi was scared when they both entered the kitchen. Michael was going to find out that she couldn't cook. She thought of a way to get out of the situation but couldn't find.

"I only need you to pick out the vegetables and cut them. I'll be in charge of the rest." Michael said.

Desi nodded with joy immediately. She watched Michael tie the apron around him. He looked gorgeous! She took out her phone from her pocket and sneakily took some photos of him.

Michael did everything like an expert. Like it was something he had done before.

Desi watched him, seemingly forgetting what she was doing. She was led out of her trance when she heard him say.

"What? Are you thinking of how lucky you are to have a husband like me?" He had asked.

Desi didn't have any words for him and she quickly smiled, and focused on her husband given task.

When they were done cooking. The dishes were laid out on the table. Everyone, including the Burtler, sat round the table. They were waiting for Madam Le grande to try out the food first. When she did, she quickly nodded.

Michael Kingston was a great cook. They all proceeded to eat. Desi laughed the most and ate the most.

She looked at everyone chattering at the table. One would think that the marriage between her and Michael was the ideal marriage. They didn't know that it was a loveless marriage. Everything happening there was all fake. It wasn't real! Everything Michael did for her was just to fulfill his responsibilities as a husband. Likewise she.

They both wanted to make the marriage worthwhile, while it still lasts.

They didn't want to keep being strangers and acting indifferently. They still had three more years to be together. After then Desi would be twenty-three and Michael would be thirty-five. A part of their life gone. And as planned, if she had a child. It could only mean one thing. That hers and Michael's path were meant to cross. Whether they liked it or not. This was so because she would continue to be the mother of that child and Michael, the father.

She subconsciously rubbed her belly and her mother winked at her. But, she could not decipher the meaning of the wink, she only smiled. What both Michael and Desi didn't know was that, fate had already created for them another part. Whether it was a part to doom or part to happiness. They didn't know. Only the future would tell.
