As he recalled that the fat guard wanted to sneak him out, Jax remembered that he didn't think much of it then or it could be said that he wasn't able to think much about it.
However, it was different after he had taken a peaceful yet prolonged nap for several hours straight and after his head got steer cleared of pain a little.
So many questions invaded his brain at a time, making him feel restless after he started fidgeting while waiting for the man in the question to appear post dinner time.
He didn't even know when that man would come because he just said he would 'sneak him out' after dinner.
And, he didn't know how the latter would do it or what he should do after going out either.
Will he be left on his own? Or would this Marco guy come along with him?
So many questions, yet not a single soul to answer him.
And when the guard finally came, it was already very late into the night.
As Jax was afraid that if they make too much notice they would alert everyone, like guards and other inmates, so he just clamped his lips shut and obediently followed the guard out, without making a single sound.
However, he made a mental note to ask that guard once they reached a safe zone.
And all things aside, he was utterly excited about one thing, he is finally going to escape from this hell hole. Even though he didn't know why he believed that so called first target of his so much, he still chose to overlook everything just to get out of there.
As they walked and walked, passing corridors after corridors and blocks after blocks, they finally reached a place which seemed pretty much deserted without a single sign of recent wandering by the human beings.
It even looked like a haunted place. But it couldn't bother the young man blindly following the fat guard with a half awake mind.
Jax just wanted to get done and over with it, because he sensed that the adrenaline rush he felt earlier had started wearing out as the lethargic feeling came back.
As he fell short on his steps, the distance between Marco and him increased noticeably, and he saw the latter's fat figure disappear around the corner of this building in the next minute.
But, he didn't feel alarmed, because at this point he concluded that Marco had already arranged everything for this epic escapade of his.
Anyhow, Jax just hoped that this hour long walk would finally end soon. But, he didn't know that he was literally on point.
Their walk indeed ended, not because they reached the last but one step to sneak him out of this prison, but because of the sudden appearance of the mysterious duo who would come and greet him whenever they pleased to spout some rubbish, making him question the existence of his sanity.
Just as Jax was turning around at that very corner of this haunted building, where he saw the fat figure disappear a few moments ago, he came face to face with these two guys.
But, unlike the previous encounters, they didn't start saying anything about simulated world or secret portal, they just threw him a glance before turning around and faced his supposed to be first kill.
Jax was stunned, to say the least, at their out of the blue appearance, that he couldn't decipher what was happening until the two mysterious guys break into a fight with Marco.
After the adrenaline left his system completely, his body felt too weak to even think of interrupting the three souls busy fighting just a few feet away from him. His hazy mind didn't help much in understanding this situation either.
He just stood there, watching the three fought with great expertise, just like a rooting fan would watch a television show where professional boxers would fight for a title or trophy.
On the other hand, even with his round and ball like body, Marco bounced effortlessly between the two guys who were neatly dressed in three piece suits, and almost towered over the former as he looked like a stuffed bear being tossed from one toddler to other.
Even though Marco could be considered as a big guy, his height definitely seemed one of his disadvantages at this moment, because he was almost half a head shorter than Jax, who was in turn nearly half a foot shorter than the two mysterious guys, even with his above average height of over six feet.
And, the two guys have perfect figures compared to Marco.
Even so, it took them at least half an hour to completely overpower him, and even then he continued to put up a fight, not at all intending to surrender to the two men.
However, at this moment, he seemed to use up all his energy as his movements slowed down considerably while his opponents still looked full of vigour.
Just like that, the one sided battle took another fifteen minutes to reach a consensus, resulting in a completely battered mess of half unconscious human being, lying flat on the ground with almost non existent and shallow breathing.
Jax didn't know why they fought with Marco until he laid lifelessly on the ground, nor could he come up with a plausible reason for them to stop right before squeezing the little amount of life left in him either.
He was still standing to the side, with a slightly astonished expression on his face when the more buoyant man came in front of him and flashed him a cheerful smile as if he didn't see the latter beating someone into a pulp until a few seconds ago.
"Hi Jax, how are you? It's been a while." The more buoyant man greeted him with much enthusiasm.
However, when Jax didn't reply him even after a full minute while still staring at Marco with an unreadable expression on his face, the ignorant man announced something even more ground breaking than their sudden appearance.
"We didn't finish him off, because you have a task to complete."
A task to complete?
How did they know about it?
