"Ha?" I jumped up and looked at Long Dao. "She can't be serious?" I thought.
"Well then, the lady has agreed. So we don't have any problem right?" Phai asked.
"Uh… Ye… yeah," If I decline, Long Dao will lose her face.
"Oh! Din," Phai waved her hand, signing me to come close. "All our rooms are soundproof. So don't worry ok?" she whispered to my ears.
"Uhm… thank you for your info I guess?" I replied, but in reality, my true reaction at the time was, "WHY DID YOU TELL ME THAT! I THOUGHT ALL THE GIRLS HERE ARE INNOCENT! DIDN'T KNOW YOU GUYS ARE THIS OPEN ABOUT IT?"
And of course, whenever I have a strong reaction, the angel and devil appear in my head.
"Ooh, la la! Look who is going to be busy tonight!" the devil couldn't hold his laughter.
"Hey! Don't teach him bad things!" the angel scolded the devil. "Din, remember to control yourself ok? You are a civilized man. You need to hold it in," he told me.
"Oh? Hold WHAT in?" the devil jumped in.
"Devil, I don't have time with your BS right now," I tried my best to not yell at him. "Thank you, angel. You both have to go now," I said.
"Glad you are listening to me," the devil smiled.
"For now. Hahaha!" The devil was holding his stomach. He really finds this funny, isn't he?
"Shut up!" my face got red again and I opened my eyes. Phai wasn't there anymore, so I just slipped out my thoughts, "Huh? Where is Phai?"
Suddenly, Long Dao's voice behind my back made me jump up from surprise. "She left ages ago when you were stand sleeping," she said.
"So it is just me and Long Dao now?" thinking that I couldn't look at her in the eye.
"Go in. Seeing you able to sleep while standing, I guess you're really tired," Long Dao entered the room first.
*Gulp* I cleared my throat. "I'm… I'm coming in," I notified.
When I walked into the room, my eyes were drawn into the bed without me realizing it. Luckily, there were two beds. I can't imagine how weird it would be if the room only has one bed.
"You sleep first," Long Dao said.
"Why?" I asked.
"I'm going to take a bath," she answered. "And it's safer that you sleep first," she added.
"Safer?" I didn't understand.
Long Dao then looked uncomfortable, "Any… anyway. Sleep first. That is an order!"
"So NOW she realized how wrong her words were back then!" I finally realized. "Uhm… sure. I will sleep first," I replied. "But do you know where to take a bath?" I added.
"Isn't it right there?" Long Dao pointed at the back of the room.
"She's right! I was only paying attention to the bed so I didn't notice it!" I thought. "But what is this! It only has a curtain to keep privacy!?"
While I was swimming in my thoughts, Long Dao had already gone in behind the curtain.
"OH SHOOT!" I immediately laid down and covered my head with a blanket. "HOW CAN SHE THINK I COULD SLEEP IN THIS SITUATION!!!"
"You idiot! What are you doing? What are the chances that you could see a woman bathing behind a curtain again? Open your eyes!" the devil yelled in my head.
"No, Din, don't listen to him. You are doing great," the angel was on my side.
"Let me tell you, angel," the devil changed his target. "Why are you always so blunt and bland like a piece of wood? Times like these are god's gift. Don't prevent him from it!"
"You called me a piece of wood?" the angel got angry. "Don't act like you care about Din! YOU want to see it," the devil was caught red-handed.
"Ugh!" He lost the debate. "Ooh, but look. While we were fighting, our boy couldn't hold himself any longer," he laughed.
"What?" the angel surprised and turned at me. "Oh no Din! What are you doing?" he caught me peeking at the shadow on the curtain.
"Haha," I smiled weakly. "Don't be like that. It is just her shadow," I tried to cover my sin.
"BUT YO… UMMM!" the angel was about to scold me but his mouth was covered by the devil's hand.
"I'll take care of this little guy. All you have to do is enjoy," he smiled evilly and slowly walked to the back of my mind.
"Thanks, devil. I didn't know that one day I would side with you," I smiled.
Now with both of them away. All that was left was just the night, me, the sound of water, the humming of Long Dao, and her shadow on the curtain. I couldn't escape the temptation and just let my eyes be blessed with the scenery.
The curves of the shadow, with her hair dancing in the air and the droplets of water coming off of her body, had made me lose my breath. I don't know how long I was looking at it. I know that this might sound indecent, but the scenery was burnt into my eyes and has become a part of my unforgettable memory.
Suddenly, Long Dao stepped out of the bath while I was still looking at the shadow like an addict. I quickly woke up from the temptation and buried my head in the blanket again. Even though I couldn't see anything, I could hear the sound of cloth contacting the skin. "She is changing!" I realized that my face was so hot.
Without a sound. Long Dao quietly walked out of the bath and went to the other bed. I heard the sound of her laying down. My heart was about to jump out of my body. "I can't. This is not healthy for my body!" I said to myself.
After a while nothing else happened., the tiredness finally got to me and I quickly fell asleep.
And that is the end of the day… THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.
Without expecting anything else to happen that night, I heard a voice in my sleep.
"Are you still awake Din?"
