Chapter 36 - Recruitment (Part 3)

"Wait! Please stop!" I yelled at the front door.

At that time, the staff of the restaurant and the owner also got the room.

"Kim Sat, what are you doing?" the owner could barely talk when he arrived at the scene.

"Please go away. I don't want to injure innocent people. As for the damage, I promise I will pay for them," the man didn't bother to look at us but kept his eyes on the guy he was holding. His eyes were raged. They looked like they could consume the souls of those who dare to look at them. But contrastingly, his voice was as calm as water.

A long pause after that, until the owner spoke up. "If you say so," the owner actually listened to him.

I looked at him with my eyes wide. "How much do you trust this man?" I thought.

"Go back to your job!" he yelled at the staff and they all ran away instantly.

"Wait! You can't be serious! What will happen if he kills those people!" I yelled at the owner and ran up to his face

The owner didn't look troubled at all after hearing my words. He looked at the young man, and then back at me. "If it is Kim Sat, then it will be fine," he told me. "As for you two, if you get hurt by involving in this, I won't take responsibility. You have been warned," he finished and walked off.

"Thank you," the young man said as the owner walked away.

"Remember to pay for the damage you bastard," the owner laughed as he walked away.

And there was I, standing dead still, feeling like I was missing something. "Huh? What is this peaceful atmosphere? There is a fight happening over here!" I was confused as to how calm and carefree the owner was at the situation.

"Din," Long Dao called me out of my thoughts.

"Yes?" I snapped back to reality.

"Look closely at the room," she told me.

"?" was my face when I heard her. I then took a deep breath and observed the room once more. "Ah! There are only dishes crashed. The room is a mess but none of them are injured at all. If he acted out of revenge then all of their faces will have flowers right now.

And the clothes, the three of them are wearing expensive and fancy silk, with them being in a VIP room like this, they must be from rich families. All three of them are young and skinny, they look like they have never done anything worthwhile. So they must be the overprotected children from their families.

With the number of dramas I have seen, this could be something like: those three were talking trash about someone/something while this man walked by and heard it. He then got angry and stomped in like this," I conclude my long deduction.

These are all assumptions I made with the limited amount of info I could see, it is not to say that I am a god and know everything from first sight.

The young man's face was furious now, not all happy like before.

"Hey!" I called the young man.

This time, he finally left his gaze on the poor guy and looked at us. "Oh! It's you again. How coincident," he said in a very calm way while his eyes were still as sharp as ever.

"His face is furiously red but his voice is as though a monk was talking. How am I able to encounter these weird people? First Phai and now this guy!" I thought to myself.

"You too should leave. I don't want any outsider to get hurt," he told us.

"We are not leaving," Long Dao answered right away. "So let sit down and talk."

"Long Dao, I don't think that is going to work. No angry person would be sane enough to sit down and talk," I secretly shook my head.

But what do I know about how people think in this world? After hearing Long Dao, he dropped the dude he was holding on the ground and went picking up some chairs that had fallen. He sat down at the table. "Come," was the only word he said.

Without any hesitation, Long Dao walked inside the room and sat across from him. Then, she turned at me who was still standing at the door front.

"Oh!" I realized they were waiting for me so I quickly walked in and sat down as well.

As for the three dudes on the ground, they quickly ran away when I sat down.

"Are you not going to stop them?" I asked him.

"*Sigh* I didn't plan to hurt them anyway. I was just scaring them," he replied.

"So… what happened?" I asked cautiously.

He sighed again, and then talked, "I was coming back from the restroom when I heard them talking bad about their servants. Those three described their servants as though objects that could be thrown away. Hearing that, I couldn't control my anger but stomped in here."

"Was that really all there is?" I asked again.

He looked at me confusingly. "Yes that is all," he reassured. "Why would you ask me that?" he asked back at me.

"Uh... " I don't want to say it.

"Because your face looked like you were about to kill them," Long Dao answered for me.

Hearing that, his face turned a little red. "It was just my angry face, it looked way more serious than it should be," he quickly explained.

Listen to that, I nodded quietly, "Understandable, like my friends say I always look dead inside when it was just my resting face."

"But I don't think hearing them talking bad about servants is enough to make you angry to the point of bursting inside like this. Is there something else?" Long Dao kept on asking like an interrogation.

"That is because I used to be a servant, that is why I feel empathy and sadness for those poor people," he didn't hesitate to admit his background.

"So you got enraged because your master also used to look down on you like they were?" I asked.

"Not at all," the man shook his head. "My lady Hoa Vu Nu was a very good master. She was the one that taught me how to read and write and was the one that guided me to be a happy person. I was angry not because of the reason you said, but because I am confused as to why people can't treat everyone with respect like how my lady was?" he praised his once master.

"Looks like you were lucky to have a good master. So then why aren't you with her anymore?" I asked.

As though he realized he slipped his word, the man quickly stood up. "I think I have talked too much. Goodbye!" he then left while Long Dao and I were still sitting there not knowing what to do.

A brief silence went on. We sat there and didn't follow him because that won't be any help since he got so defensive like that. "I forgot to ask his name," were the first words I said to break the silence.

"Hm," Long Dao replied. "At least we know more about him now," she said.

"What did he say his master's name again? Maybe that could be a hint," I said.

"Something like Hoa Vu Nu if I'm not mistaken," she replied.

"Wait!" I thought to myself. "Hoa Vu Nu! Her last name is Hoa!"
