Y/n POV
~~~
I woke up in the early morning with the fawn curled up right next to me. I'm glad that I didn't shift out of my wolf form in my sleep. I'm not saying I don't want them to see, but I prefer that they don't know yet. I tend to be distracting and with them being my mates, it will only be worse.
I rolled on my back and stretched my limbs out, causing a few satisfying pops to erupt. I took a look at my surroundings and noticed that I had been in the same room as the first time they brought me here.
I draped a blanket over the fawns sleeping figure before hopping off the bed and heading towards the door. I pushed on the handle with my paw, the old creak of the door opening echoed in the empty hallway. I walked down slowly and analyzed the rooms that I passed by. There was another creak that echoed in the hallway that caused me to stop in my tracks.
A familiar scent filled my nose as I turned my head and made eye contact with the source of the smell. I saw Sehun, red flushed face, walking down the hallway a sluggish way. He didn't look too well.
'He shouldn't be out of bed'
I quietly followed him, just in case. Where are his brothers? Aren't they supposed to be taking care of him if he's looking like this?
I followed Sehun as he walked into what looked like the kitchen.
He grabbed a box of cereal and was aiming to reach the fridge handle. I felt something stir in the pit of my stomach. I watched him pour the milk in the bowl and put it back before he hunched over in a horrible coughing fit. I saw him clutch his chest in pain with his right hand before his legs gave up on holding up his weight. I leaped through the air.
~Third person POV~
Sehun felt even worse than the day before. He couldn't breathe right and felt very faint. A fever shouldn't be so unbearable, especially for an Royal Alpha. Something else must be wrong. Of course, Sehun didn't care at the time because he was hungry. He grabbed the box of cereal and reached for the fridge handle.
He grabbed the milk and poured it into this bowl of dry cereal before putting it back. Just as he closed the door, he felt his head throb even more painfully if possible. As if on cue, a sharp pain erupted from his chest were his heart was. He clutched it in pain and tried to focus on his breathing. He was in so much pain that he didn't notice that he was falling.
He could only register the sound of breaking glass and the strange warmth wrapping around his torso before he lost consciousness.
Y/n, on the other hand, was struggling in her human form trying to hold him up. Curses blurted out of her mouth as she heaved her sick mate onto the kitchen table, quite brutally if you looked at it. Groans of pain erupted from the sick boy's chest from the impact. Y/n mumbled a small "sorry" before cracking her knuckles.
" Well, let's get you to bed," Y/n spoke, before tossing Sehun over her shoulder like a bag of rice and started walking out of the kitchen. She grabbed his hand and gently sniffed it, to catch his scent. She was now in the hallway sniffing every few minutes, following the trail of his scent. She found his room and closed the door gently behind her as she entered.
She placed him gently onto his bed and raised the sheets over his body, up to his collar bone. She was about to go back into the kitchen to make him something to eat, and maybe try find ways to escape, when a hand grabbed out and held her wrist.
She looked back and saw Sehun breathing heavily and staring at her with tired, tear-filled eyes. He let out a cute sniff as his bottom lip trembled.
" Please stay.." He spoke with a weak voice. Y/n's eyes softened at his words. She wanted nothing more than to see him healthy again. She resisted the urge to smother him in affection. She weighed the options.
Should she stay and comfort her mate or should she sneak through the castle to find some information about some personal business. She looked back at her younger mate and let out a sigh at his horrible state. He was breathing heavily as he waited for his beloved mate's answer.
She eventually agreed, but with much hesitation. He scooted over and patted the spot on the bed he wanted her on. Y/n wasn't used to cuddling or any kind of physical affection from any male person, other than children she has saved in the past. Other male interactions seemed to be very... bad.
She laid on the bed like a corpse in a casket. This reaction made Sehun give out a weak but full-hearted chuckle. Y/n was so still and uncomfortable lying next to him but in her mind, she actually didn't know what to do.
Sehun moved closer and laid his head on her chest and wrapped his broad arms around her small waist. She flinched and froze with her hands in the air.
' Whatthefuckwhatthefuck...' she thought, as she awkwardly patted his back before keeping her hands in the air.
She cleared her throat and tried to stop the blush from running up to her face. She then wrapped her arms around his head and snuggled him closer. She shouldn't be doing this. She needed to leave this palace and start her plan immediately. With her mind running wild she lowered her gaze to Sehun. His small snores were all that can be heard within the room.
''Just a few minutes..' she told herself.
She ran her fingers through his hair before she too, fell into a calming sleep.
~~~ Two hour Time Skip~~~
~~~ Y/n POV~~~
The sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway right outside the door. I lifted my head and looked outside. It was 6, soon to be 7, in the morning. I saw that Sehun and I were in the same position as when we fell asleep.
I slowly unhooked his arms from me so I wouldn't wake him. I slowly stood up from the bed and checked his temperature. He seemed to have cooled down. That's good.
I slowly walked towards the door and opened it only a crack. I held my breath and listened carefully. Soon enough I heard the voices loud and clear with footsteps following after.
They didn't sound like any of the brothers. I think it's the guards. I stepped out of the room and closed the door softly. I quietly followed the two figures down the hall. As I walked I slowly shifted into my wolf form since it was small and I could hide easily.
After they turned the corner, I waited for few minutes before I heard the door close. I pressed my ear against the door and listened closely. It sounds like a meeting, considering all the arguing in the room.
"Sire! You cannot possibly be serious about this decision!" The voice echoed through the room but sounded muffled on the other side of the door.
" Of course I am. Don't send troups into the area. That's final!" It sounded like D.O.
"Your Highness! We cannot bear to lose another village to the Rogues. There is only one village supplying us with food and the other with resources. We can't bear to lose all power!"
" General, if you trust the throne then you shall shut your mouth and trust our orders." Yixing spat. I heard the sound of a chair being pulled out and foot steps coming closer to the door.
I quickly dashed to the corner and hid right before the door opened. It revealed and older man around his late 30's, maybe early 40's. He had salt and pepper hair with mostly darker hairs. He was muscular and had a scar the ran across his left eye to the bottom right side of his chin.
He walked out and let out a sigh of frustration. He walked down the hall, with two guards following right after, and disappeared from sight once he turned the corner.
I was about to head back to the kitchen until I heard more voices spoke from the room. I noticed that the two guards didn't close the door all the way and left it open a crack.
My mates continued to talk about the battle plan on taking back the other villages without many casualties. I poked my head out from the door frame and watched them talk.
It was kind of hot how they argued and agreed about battle plans but as I watched I noticed a bookcase behind the table they sat at. One book caught my attention...
"We must be cautious but get the job done. Send the troops to the the west village an-" Suho stopped his orders when he smelt a familiar scent of roses and sweet apples.
They others notices his sudden stop in his speech and also sniffed the air. I realized that they might have caught my scent and had to think fast. I had to have that book...
I turned and ran down the hall once I heard the sudden sound of multiple footsteps head out the door. I had a plan and I just hoped that they would fall for it...after all. I am their mate hehe.
I ran through the hallway and let out a loud howl that made my presence known. It was a playful howl that should lead them to me. Soon enough I heard other howls and the sound of running steps.
'Looks like they shifted too..'
I ran into an open room and backed up against the wall. I wagged my tail playfully as my mates soon entered the room. They had amusement and playfulness in their eyes once they saw me.
I had gotten a better look at their wolf figures, they where much bigger compared to my size. I enjoyed this moment and jumped around in happiness. I let out a bark and jumped over them and towards the door.
They wagged their tails and tried to catch me. I dodged them and left the room. Soon enough the chase began again.
The chase lasted for a while and we ended up outside in the garden. I had managed to shake them off my tail once I entered the center of the maze. I caught my breath and looked at my surroundings.
I shifted into my human form. My long hair flew behind my shoulder as the familiar white silk dress flowed with the way my hips swayed. It was like a second skin near the top and loose near my legs. It was a type of outfit that every wolf had whenever they shifted back into their human form after a while.
I looked to my right and saw purple flowers. I grabbed a handful of petals and squashed them in my hands. I heard rustling of bushes and small footsteps coming towards my location. I quickly turned my back on all entrances so that they won't see my face yet.
I heard the sound if bones popping which meant that they must have shifted back too. They stepped forward slowly and waited for my to turn.
I looked over my shoulder, my hair flowing with the breeze. I slowly turned my body to face them. The shock on their faces was what made me smile,but only a little.
I held the squashed petals in my hand and looked at the 8 brothers in the eyes, one at a time.
" As much as I love you all... I'm going to have to take advantage of the time I'm given. No offense." I stated.
" wha-" They all said in Unison.
I had already leaped forward and blew the dust in their faces. The dust of the purple flowers.
