The digital world is a place once assumed to be just a virtual world where people spend their time raising virtual pets and monsters. A harmless game for the world to enjoy. Until it wasn't those seemingly harmless creatures became very real and a new world opened up to the masses. However, the two worlds were still separated and neither inhabitants from Earth nor those in the digital world could travel between worlds.
In the year 2100 things changed, and a group of scientists managed to create a device that could create a stable portal between the worlds. This resulted in the awakening of soul energy a form of energy that resided within people's very souls. Alongside a device known as the digivice that would become the key to a new profession that would change the fate of both worlds. With the discovery of digizoid a metal found in the digital world theories and ideas previously thought impossible to achieve were now reality. So life went on and discoveries and advancements were made in almost every field of the world.
"That was exactly a hundred years ago from today," thought a young man as he closed the app and got up from his seat.
He had been reading it as a way to pass the time till he got to the front of the line he was waiting to buy his little sister's gift. Today was her birthday and he had promised to get her a new Angewomon build set.
"Just this," He said as he handed the lady behind the counter the box and birthday bag.
He quickly paid for the items, telling the lady he didn't need a bag he put the box in the bag he had just bought and walked outside. As he stepped out the sun was shining and hit him in his bright blue eyes. Blocking the rays with his unoccupied arm and blinking to clear his vision he started the walk back home.
He couldn't wait to get back home. His sister Diamond was very excitable and energetic but the one thing that would make her calm down and focus was building figures, especially digimon figures. Considering their dad was a retired digimon tamer it was no surprise she loved everything to do with them, especially Teddy their dad's Digimon.
"Maybe I will just have to take the test and get a digiegg from the union if I wait any longer I'll just be wasting time," He thought to himself as he rounded the last corner before he reached his house.
In this world where people and digimon coexisted the number one dream of a lot of people was to become a tamer and travel the digital world. Especially people like him who had just graduated high school and didn't want to end up working in an office or hospital. He wanted to be a tamer like his dad had been back in the day it was his biggest goal ever since he was a kid. The only reason he hadn't gone and taken the test was that he was holding out hope that he would be a natural tamer and gain his digimon naturally. Without having to go to the union and get an egg and have to slowly develop his digisoul. Not too long after he turned the corner he was at his front door.
"Brother your back I missed you!" was all he heard as he stepped through the door and was tackled in the stomach.
"Hey Diamond I missed you too," he said as he hugged his sister.
She was a cute little girl with curly black hair that reached her back and light blue eyes. She had just turned 10 today and he had promised to spend the day with her when he got back home The little furball with no legs that attacked him was their dad's Digimon. It was a Wanyamon named Teddy. She and Teddy had been inseparable since she was born.
"Guess what I got you," he said as he handed her the bag.
"Hey Dad, how was work today?" Cyrus said as he came through the door with Teddy on his head and Diamond in his arms.
"It was good some of your friends from school came through to work out. I heard your friend Ike was about to go to the Digital World." his dad said as he turned on the TV.
"Yeah he told me today his dad was gonna take him to register at the Union today," he said as he put his sister down and Teddy hopped into her arms.
"That's good, are you ready for tomorrow you'll be getting your Digimon from the Union." his dad said.
"Yeah, I was hoping to be a natural Tamer but it doesn't seem I'll be that lucky. Anyways I'm gonna go take a shower and after I'm done I'm all yours okay Diamond," he said as he fist-bumped his dad and went up the stairs.
"Okay I'll be here playing with Teddy," she said as she chased Teddy.
"Okay and remember your mom's coming home with the cake soon so don't take too long," his dad said then went back to watching the news.
