Chapter 7 - Gram and Aegis 2.0

As soon as Gallantmon disappeared Cyrus woke up his soul felt like it had been under immense pressure the whole time he was asleep but other than that he was fine. He just laid there and thought about all he had just learned, he had tried his best to keep calm but standing before something so great made him feel insignificant. The way that the knight had looked at him with his eyes that seemed to know everything about him.

It made him realize how truly small and weak he was even if he had known so already. Even so, he was grateful because that same knight had given him something incredible even though it went against the one he served. He sat up and stared at the floating ball of light.

Now he could finally get into the fight if things had continued how they were going he would have to count on Agni to fight the stronger Digimon. That would just make him weaker as Agni grew stronger and put a lot of pressure on him. If he had been teleported directly to File City he would have gotten a basic digizoid weapon.

"Even though this situation started badly at least I've gotten something great out of this, I'm gonna need it for the future even more," He thought to himself as wondered what life had in store for him and Agni.

"Hey, can I touch the glowy ball?" Agni asked as he looked at the red light.

"No, you can't you'll have your own in the future anyway but you're gonna have to work hard," He said as he looked at the eager little Digimon.

"I'll work hard. I'm gonna get stronger than that big Digimon," Agni said as he ran around.

"Yeah, we both will," Cyrus said as he put his hand on the ball of light.

He had thought about what weapon he wanted but he didn't know what to do with Aegis. His weapon of choice required two hands to get the most out of it. That's when he realized he didn't have to make a physical shield. Thinking like this he had made his decision as soon as his hand touched the light his energy started to move towards it.

The ball separated into two then each ball slowly started changing shape. The one on the left grew into a staff shape one of the ends continued to extend into the shape of a blade. The blade was curved with a single edge when the light faded the weapon was revealed with all its glory.

The blade was completely black except for the dark red edge there was a guard between the blade and the pole it was connected to. The pole was also black but there were multiple kanji-like symbols engraved into it. The bottom of the pole was rounded off. The other ball however didn't change shape but went inside him and connected to his soul.

As soon as that happened he collapsed the whole process took almost two hours. He had to make sure he put everything he had into it. The final result though was all worth it slowly getting up he summoned the weapon which he now felt was connected to his soul. It appeared instantly in his hand he was 6 feet tall the weapon was almost 8 feet. The blade was rather long, being almost 2 feet in length. The pole took up the rest of the weapon's length.

He had made a glaive. He had always liked polearms when he started training. The glaive was his favorite and the one he had the most experience using. The next tool in his arsenal was Aegis since he wouldn't be able to hold a shield most of the time while using Gram he made something better.

He circulated his energy and a barely visible red aura wrapped around him. He looked like he was standing inside a sphere of red light. This was what he had decided to do with the shield basing it on magic shields he had read about in novels. It would block attacks automatically for a while before it required his energy to sustain itself.

He could even change it to block an attack from a single point to block stronger attacks. As he got stronger he would be able to do more but for now, this was enough. Putting both Gram and Aegis away he sat down and recovered his energy. When that was done he got up and put his bag on it was time to go.

"Alright, Agni it's time to go we should be close to the city since Gallantmon didn't affect the teleportation till the last minute. Now we just have to figure out which direction to go in," He said as he moved the barrier they had made at the entrance.

"That means I'll get to eat lots of food soon," Agni said while standing next to Cyrus.

'That's right he's still a baby. Now that I think about it he's been maturing a lot faster than normal," He thought as he remembered how efficiently they had taken out those Motimon.

Stepping outside and taking a quick survey of the surroundings they decided to follow the river. There were lots of villages surrounding the City and most of them were supported by people and Digimon that lived in the city. More than likely he would even find some tamers taking a break and ask for directions. If not he would just ask the village chief hopefully he didn't end up in some stupid conflict.

Making sure to be on the lookout for any threat they started to move. On the way, he was actively looking out for Digimon so that they could fight and get stronger.

He had seen a couple of baby Digimon but they weren't worth the effort. 15 minutes later however his wish was granted, standing in front of him as a Gabumon. It was absorbing the data from whatever it had just killed, It wouldn't get to finish though as it had just become target practice.
