Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Angry

I was frozen scared out of my mind as I saw the man I once loved standing in the doorway. He didn't seem to notice me and looked to Felix. "Felix! I need one of your tracking spells, I lost a scent awhile back." Felix looked at him blankly. "Uh, you know, this isn't exactly the best time for me..." Sythyon gave him an annoyed look. "I'm really not in the mood to wait for you convince. Now stop being a pain in the-!"

His eyes floated to me and he cut himself off. His expression changed into surprise, and my fear doubled. 'Ahhhh! What is he going to do?!' He then disappeared into black smoke, and reappeared in front of me. I stepped back. "Ah! Don't do that!" But before I could yell at him more, he immediately hugged me tightly. "Silvera!" Everyone froze including me. I was going to struggle but being in his arms again filled me with comfort. I denied it telling myself it wasn't real and pushed him away. "What do you want?" He stood up and gave me a questioning look. "Are you mad at me?" I crossed my arms and glared at him.

'What kind of question is that?! Does he seriously not know that what he did to me was terrible?!' I thought as I tried to hold in my anger. "Why wouldn't I be you betrayer?!" His eyebrows fell into a crease. "What are you talking about?" Arine crossed his arms. "Don't play stupid you scummy demon! I told her everything you did to people like her! So don't even think about trying to use her again!"

He turned to Arine and raised an eyebrow. "The last time someone talked to me like that, they were torn limb from limb, and sucked from every drop of blood within the minute." Arine gulped and went back into his shell. Sythyon turned back to me. "So you know, do you?" I held my glare even though my heart was breaking inside. He looked into my eyes with his icy gaze. "I don't deny it, but I got bored of it. I came to Ora looking for a wife, and I found you. There were things I left out, but I have never lied to you."

I looked at him in disbelief. "Oh really? Then how did I end up in a black market?" His face stayed emotionless. "Your soul is valuable. Some of my people found out about you and took you away from me. I've been looking every corner of the world for you since I discovered you were gone." I couldn't move hearing him say that. 'I was the one he was looking for...? But, how do I know that he isn't lying? He couldn't have looked so long just to find me. I can't trust him after he admitted to doing the things he did.' My glare faltered, and my brain became scrambled.

Then suddenly, Sythyon looked up like he smelled something familiar, and turned around. His and Ikko's eyes met and I could instantly hear their personalities clash. The air grew tense, and I felt their hate for each other rise. Both of them glared fiercely at one another, and Sythyon was the first to speak. "You..." He took a step closer to him. "Ikko Oui." Ikko clenched his fists and spoke through his teeth. "Sythyon Deadripper."

I blinked. 'They know each other?! Oh no, I totally forgot, Sythyon hates angels. If I don't do something he'll kill Ikko!' I immediately stepped in front of Sythyon attempting to stop him from getting any more angry. "Wait! Don't hurt him!"

He looked down at me, his glare still on his face. "Honestly, why did you have to make all male friends? And with an angel no less. After everything I told you, you still went behind my back." I've never seen him angry with me. I was too scared to blink.

He stepped around me to face Ikko. "I'm going to kill you, you malfunction of an immortal being." Ikko returned his cold anger. "Not if I kill you first you son of a horn-headed dog." Felix started to feel uncomfortable. "Uhh, if you guys are going to fight, can you do it outside? I just had the walls painted..." More confusion came to me. 'Wait, Felix seems to know Sythyon too. He must know how ruthless he is, why is he so chill seeing him so mad right now?'

Sythyon kept his eyes on Ikko. "Fine." He disappeared into black smoke again and Ikko walked to the door. I stopped him before he left. "Wait! You're actually going to fight him?!" He ignored me and kept walking. I was so worried about what would happen next. 'Ikko can't possibly win that fight! What is he doing?!' We all rushed to the door where Ikko was already standing in front of Sythyon. I didn't know what to do, I could only bring myself to watch.

Sythyon made the first move by making a black fireball appear in his hands. He shot it at Ikko as soon as it appeared, but Ikko dodged making it smash into the dirt beside him. Ikko then shot a lightning bolt through his fingers at him, but Sythyon blocked the attack, bending the lightning back to him. Ikko flew over it and a white spear appeared in his hands. He threw it towards him, but Sythyon blocked it by making a black sword out of his smoke, instantly shattering Ikko's weapon.

He then flew up to swing at Ikko, but he countered with a white sword made of the magic that was coming from his hands. The swords were filled with power, lightning of each color sparking out of them as soon as they hit each other. They continued to fight, getting higher every time they pushed each other away. I was so interested in the fight until I realized that Sythyon was holding back. 'Why is he doing that? He hates angels, I thought he wouldn't hesitate to kill one.'

Just then, Sythyon shattered Ikko's sword, and pushed him back. It looked like it hurt Ikko pretty bad, but he didn't let it stop his concentration. Sythyon then suddenly shot his black lightning at him again. Worried, I yelled to him. "Lookout!" But Ikko shot his white lightning back as I yelled, the two lightnings clashed against each other, creating a line half black, half white. Ikko's started to win, white getting closer to Sythyon.

They both pushed harder until black started to take the majority of the line. Ikko pushed with all he had, but the black kept getting closer until it finally hit him. "No!" I screamed. A black shockwave filled the sky, and smoke fell, making it hard to see. I looked as hard as I could, trying to find them. The smoke started to thin out, and I saw Ikko falling to the ground.

I gasped as he landed farther away from us and Sythyon flew down landing on his feet, cracking the ground underneath him. Sythyon bent down on one knee to grab Ikko's neck. He raised his fist and it burst into black flames. I knew what he was going to do next and started to run to them. "Wait! Don't!!" But before I could reach them, Sythyon let go, and the flames disappeared. Ikko then sat up and they both started to laugh.
