We walked inside through the steel doors, and noticed that the room was big enough to hear our footsteps echo through the entire building. The room was lit by green fire burning in black iron bowls on top of pedestals, and candles in the chandeliers. The room looked like it was a castle throne room, but there was a desk instead of a throne, and there were large bookshelves behind it, filled with scrolls and old books all the way up to the ceiling. I got a creepy feeling, and chills kept running up and down my spine. I held Ikko's hand and we walked slowly to the center of the room, when the doors behind us slammed shut and made me jump. 'That was creepy.'
Suddenly, we heard footsteps come from one of the staircases in front of us that were on either side of the desk. I looked back and saw a tall man walking down to us. He was wearing a black cloak with a golden lining around the edges, and a loose navy blue shirt. He had boots, with his loose black pants tucked into them, and a belt carrying some smaller scrolls and bottles. He also wore dark gloves, and his hair and eyes were green.
I was surprised of how calm and kindly he looked. He didn't look like a kidnapper or like someone who would hurt anyone or anything. 'I can understand why, since Arine said that he was the nicest guy before he got corrupted.' His eyes lit up when he saw us and a smile crossed his face. He immediately ran to us. "Aaaarrrriiiinnnneeee!!!"
He hugged Arine tight, and lifted him up easily. "Ahh!" I was shocked how strong he was, even though Arine was on the skinny side. He spun around and put him back down, not letting him go. "I'm so glad you're here!!! I was so worried!!! Cutting it close there!!! You do have it right??!!" Arine nodded and smiled. "Yep." He turned his head to Cienar, and Cienar blankly took the book from his arm and handed it to Felix.
Felix let go of Arine and took it from him. "Oh thank god! Thank you so much! I am so sorry for everything!" He ran one hand along the cover and his eyes got glossy. He removed his hand to place on his forehead. "I thought that you wouldn't make it in time, and that I would have to-" He paused, not being able to finish his sentence. I was still caught off guard by how nice he was. I expected that the final part of this quest would be the most difficult.
Arine took a step towards him, still smiling. "Are you kidding?! There's nothing I can't handle! And I had all of my friends to help! Everything's okay now!" Then Ikko shouted. "Uhh, No it's not!!!" Felix turned to Ikko and was surprised when he saw him. "I've never seen a child angel before, I thought they were all created adults." Ikko pulled his hand out of mine to cross his arms.
"Yes. They are. But fish for brains over here thought it would be a good idea to play around with the book of souls for his own amusement." Cienar stepped back offended. "Hey!" Felix smiled again. "It's okay, I'll return you to your normal self." Ikko closed his eyes and nodded. "Thanks." We all stepped away from Ikko as Felix opened the book of souls, flipping through some pages. "Ah, here we are, a deactivation spell."
He handed his hand out towards him and said the spell. "Den nuke fien." Then, green magic shot out of his hand and surrounded Ikko. When it cleared, Ikko was now sitting on the floor back in his adult form. 'I forgot how big his wings were, and how intimidating he looked.' I suddenly blushed when I realized that he was only wearing his shirt that only covered a little more than his top half.
I turned away quickly and Felix flipped to a new page. "Right. You might need some new clothes after that." He pointed again. "Cot men lilt." More magic came out of his hand, and gave Ikko a black collar shirt, black pants, and a silver buckle belt. I looked back to him and my blush only deepened. 'Wow. He looks good in black.'
He stood up and smiled. "Nice. It feels good to be back." Arine turned to Felix. "Now that that's done, can... I have my sister back?" Felix gave him a remembering look. "Oh! Of course! I'll go get her!" He turned around quickly and went to a hallway, but stopped before he could leave the room. He hesitated, and turned back to Arine. "About that... When I give her to you, could I, see her again?"
We all blinked and Arine's eyebrows slid into a crease. "Come again?" Felix looked down for a second. "Could I see her again? As in, maybe her or I could visit each other from time to time..." I got what was going on instantly, but Arine didn't see what I did. "Of course not! You're my friend and all, but I won't let you see her ever again." Felix's expression turned annoyed. "Why not?"
Arine got more angry and crossed his arms. "Why not? Seriously?! You kidnapped her! She isn't safe around you, and will never be!" Cienar casually bumped Arine with his arm. "Uh, Arine? You might wanna-" He cut him off. "Don't be any more annoying than you already are!" Cienar backed off and mumbled to himself. "Why is everyone beating on me all of a sudden...?"
Felix then clenched his fists. "You know that isn't my fault!" Arine glared at him. "You're fault or not, you are forbidden to even look at my sister ever again!" Ikko backed away from them slowly and whispered. "Never use that word. Never use that word. Never use that word." Then suddenly, black designs appeared all over Felix's skin, and his eyes turned red as he started to levitate. His voice grew low and dark and full of anger. "You FORBID ME???!!!"
Arine stepped back surprised and so did I. 'He went from being a nice little friendly magic keeper, to a raging demonic evil sorcerer in seconds. If only Arine had kept his big mouth shut!' Felix smiled evilly. "On second thought, it is you who will never see your sister again!" Arine looked up at him fearfully. "What?!" Felix laughed. "I don't appreciate your tone, so I think I'm going to also take a little consolation prize for your arrogance as well!!" He snapped his fingers, and before I could think, a trap door opened below me and I fell down a dark hole. "Ahhh!"
I heard my friends call after me, but the trap door closed as soon as I fell down it. I slid down the pitch black hole, tumbling until I fell out and onto the ground. "Oof!" It took a minute before I could get up. I sat up and looked around to where the trap door had led me. I was in a prison cell only lit by candlelight coming from an old table on the other side of the bars.
