Next morning, Liang got dressed and was about to leave for college when Mother Sheng stopped him.
"Liang, where are you off to so early? Breakfast is ready. Aren't you going to eat?"
"mom I have to pick Jiaying up and she invited me for breakfast as well so I will eat at the Mu's today."
Hearing this Mother Sheng was elated. Her dream of getting Liang engaged on his birthday seemed to be taking shape. She rushed him "go, go. You must not keep Jiaying waiting."
Looking at his mother's over enthusiasm Liang furrowed his eyebrows and left.
Just then Meili came down from her room for breakfast. Looking at her brother's empty seat she inquired "where is brother? Is he not joining us for breakfast?"
"your brother is having special breakfast with Jiaying." an excited Mother Sheng revealed.
Wondering why her brother was giving Jiaying so much attention, Meili felt worried for Jinjing. Not that she did not trust her brother but she absolutely did not trust Jiaying. She was well aware of her feeling for her brother.
She wanted Jinjing and her brother to work their differences out themselves. That's why, she did not interfere so far.
Quickly stuffing her mouth, Meili left to pick Jinjing up. She had to find out what's happening with the two.
"hey Jinjing! good morning" Meili greeted her friend who was waiting for her outside her house.
Seeing that papa Lee was also leaving for work she got down from the car and greeted him as well. "good morning uncle Lee"
"Good morning Miss Sheng. How are you doing?" Papa Lee always formally addressed the Sheng family.
"I am doing wonderful uncle Lee." Jinjing looked at her watch and saw that it was time to leave.
She hugged her father "good bye Papa. Have a nice day."
As soon as they sat in the car and left Jinjing's house, Meili asked "hey what's up with bro and you? Did you'll sort out your problem or no?"
Jinjing heaved a depressed sigh and shook her head "nope"
Meili contemplated, whether or not she should break the news to her about her brother having breakfast with Jiaying.
She let it go thinking to stay out of this matter and not magnify it.
She took a quick look at Jinjing and continued driving.
